4586 Chumuckla Hwy, PaceHafa Adai! I recently stopped by and overall, the food was fantastic. The portions were generous, everything was cooked well, and it definitely hit the spot. ?? However, having grown up in Guam, I was hoping for a bit more authenticity—especially with the chicken kelaguen. The traditional bright flavors just weren’t as prominent as expected. I missed the strong pop of lemon and the taste of freshly grated coconut that typically brings the dish to life. I asked for spice on the side so I can taste the kelaguen before it was added and it was far from authentic yet again, I advise offering boonie/bird eye chili for spice instead to keep it authentic.
It’s still a solid spot with great potential, and I’d definitely return to try more items on the menu. A few tweaks to the kelaguen’s flavor profile could make it truly outstanding.
