We have been here a handful of times for emergency purposes and this most recent time the staff was especially sweet. Dr German did a great job making us feel at ease and was very thorough in checking over my dog, Panda. They also did a great job listening to me and my concerns. We are grateful that they are open when no one else is.. even in hurricanes! This is an emergency clinic so it’s obviously going to be pricier than your normal vet and depending on who shows up wait times can vary. This last time we were the only ones there and practically in and out. Emergencies can be scary but it helps having peace of mind knowing there is someone to go.

My best girl died at home. I had no idea what to do. They got me right in and took care of everything. They offered hugs and words of love. They even helped take care of some things for me. I will be forever grateful. I would definitely recommend.

So appreciative of this office. Our cat took a fall and was acting strange - it was 9PM the night before hurricane Milton and they saw her right away. As they saw me pull up they immediately came to the door and took my our cat in for examination. Cleared her and sent us on our way, this gave my wife and I such great peace of mind that night. Thank you ❤️

I've had sick animals before but I have never been to a vets office that the vet didn't come in the room to take a look at the animal infront of you. If the office staff wasn't so nice it wouldn't be so bad. But unless your KNOW your animal is on deaths door, don't go here. My cat wasn't that bad and it was either a $2000 hospital stay with $500 blood work or I put my cat down because it was in that bad shape. I wasn't even offered an option of vitamins at home in a dropper like a previous cat I had this problem with. They only want your money. I saw way too many people walking out with no carrier or extremely upset.

I've taken two of my dogs to this emergency hospital and they have taken my pet to the back somewhere and was told that I couldn't go back there with them. they said that they gave my dogs a medication but they lied, they never did. Then they want to charge you for it.
They gave me a prescription a told me that I could get it filled through Chewy, then when Chewy contacted them for approval, they did not approve it!:After I spent $400+ . DO NOT TAKE YOUR PETS TO THIS LOCATION

Thank you to the staff at Veterinary Emergency Clinic Waterford Lakes for your empathy and compassion when we had to put down our sweet girl Bella. Your warmth, peace and empathy means to the world to our family during our visit and her final moments. The vet who attended us was calm, gentle, empathetic and kind while she explained the process to us. Thank you for letting us take our time saying our goodbyes while we grieved her in a private room and coordinating with Pet Angel Memorial Center for her after care. She came home last night just as was planned for her after care to be forever remembered with us.

We were so impressed with every aspect of Veterinary Emergency Clinic during our first visit today!
Our 4-year-old Corgi, Misty, had an irritated eye that got increasingly worse with home remedies, so our regular vet (East Orange Animal Hospital) recommended that we take her here since it was Saturday and eye problems can have serious repercussions if not addressed early.
I called VEC to make sure they weren’t too busy and they were very pleasant on the phone. Check-in went smoothly when we arrived and they told us how many patients were waiting to be seen and approximately what our wait time would be.
The waiting area was clean, as was the room where we were seen. The vet tech and veterinarian were very friendly, not rushed or stressed, and did a great job of reading her chart first, asking helpful questions, making sure we understood what the plan was, treating Misty sweetly, and even brought out an estimated bill (high end to low end, since treatment depended on what they found) before doing any testing or treatment.
Speaking of which, the bill itself was surprisingly similar to a regular vet visit! We were worried about paying Pet ER pricing, but VEC is vet-owned and they’re clearly in it for the good of the animals (not just to make tons of money by upcharging.)
We were seen within two hours (as estimated) and the scan was shown to us (photo below) with an explanation of what they saw, what Rx was needed and we left with drugs.
Highly, highly recommend VEC to anyone considering them and we’re grateful to know that this is an option when our vet is unavailable.

I am so grateful for this practice because they saved my dog's life after she was bitten by a snake. They are compassionate, professional, and competent. I really appreciate the care they gave both my pet and our family. Yes, it is expensive but I would pay anything to save my pet as she is a member of the family. Thank you!!!

Wow, it's Thursday, 8/29, and they removed my "1" review"- AGAIN - This indicates so much to me, they rearrage or eliminate reviews, how they do that is beyond me - other than Mars Candy/Pet care is awfully big. But it just reconfirms for me what I have said, it's a second rate move that is meant to attract dollars, not a great option for most people - - in an emergency, triage stuff - and its after hours, they are a choice that should be considered, if not an emergency or just to see a vet after hours like I did with my now dead cat Chester, WAIT TILL TOMORROW and see a respected vet in your area. That's sad. Which means they can dish it out, but cannot take it, you killed my cat through stupid error - over hydrating him - he dies you send a collector from Banfield on me today - Priceless people !!! Actually really stupid people, that just makes me madder. The only good part of this is that I was clear with the collector - "see you in court". I thought 3000 + dollars would have sufficied them, but I guess the parent company - Mars Candy (really they own all three - Emergency-Banfield-Blue Pearl) wow - what a racket!) says "no" dead cat or not - we want our money - again, save the dunning calls, sue me and I will see you in court, cannot wait for discovery! For the record, yes I am pissed, if you are a pet owner and you bring them in and need some help and you take them out in a plastic bag, and they walked in - no accident, no trauma, no inability to not walk, breathing fine, just wasn't drinking. I just wanted a vet, instead I got zip - not even we are sorry - just a bill collector for something I honestly believed I paid for already - yes I am pissed. My cat was my buddy, not just another animal to make a buck on. Cannot say they are "save all" solution. Maybe in triage, but if not a triage moment, wait a day and go to an independent vet, not a price crazy, money driven, vet. Horrible experience and they will charge you a boatload - if you can wait for real vets - wait, they are not the most sensitive people either - I had a cat who wouldn't drink - it concerned me so I took him to this clinic - he walked in and I needed some expensive direction and was willing to listen, and expensive it was, three days later, almost 4 thousand dollars, they suggested I put the cat down because I questioned how we got to this place. Then I found out - they recommended Banfield for a vet - daytime vet as they only work nights - Banfield - the almost vets, but I trusted them though my cat was now in distress, Banfield then told me to return to them after 6 pm - a real three card monty - then I found out they are owned by the same company, but another priceless moment was then I was referred to Blur Pearl - they are suppose to be the best of the worse and told me it would a minimum of 2000.00 dollars more with no expecttion. of success, really!!! plus another well known vet clinic, which by the way they also recommended, anyway when I questioned them, their answer was to put him down, I said "why", but they had him now on O2, breathing horribly, and my heart broke to see him - their answer was that essentially "best thing for Chester". So if you love your pet like I did and this place after 4k tells you to put him down because they screwed up and over hydrated him and could not reverse it, advice, wait until a real vet can see your pet - oh by the way the company that owns them all is Mars Candy, yes the candy people ! Go figure. Save your pet, save your money, I had a cat who walked in, and I put him down three days later - they feel zero remorse, that''s what makes it all worse. Again they will do you no favor, if your animal is in an accident, I agree roll the dice, if you have an extra day - get that animal to a real vet, maybe independently owned, God I wish I had done that, stay away from the candy makers, to them, it's all about money and they know how to be brutal with your emotions to get it. Save your pet, save you

If you dog doesn’t have an urgent critical emergency, don’t come here. We brought our dog in because she would barely open her eyes, was squinting and blinking a lot. We sat in the lobby for over 4 hours while every. single. dog. that came in after us, was seen before us. No one ever came to look at my dog when we got there to even see how she was doing to know if she was okay enough to keep pushing back in the line. We asked a few times where she was in line and never got a straight answer and when we did it was just “she’s next” only to continue being skipped. I understand some cases are more critical than others but another ER vet saw her and it took less than 30 minutes to pump her in and out. I’m a very patient and understanding individual which is why I waited for over four hours but at some point I had to put my dog over this business who didn’t seem to care about her at all. If your dog has a super critical emergency, I’m sure you’d be fine.
