I am updating my review of this location unfortunately due to the new business practices that have been implemented. We have brought our dog here for his entire life. The business no longer works with third party pharmacies and charge more to use their own. They also are now adding on tech/doctor appointment fees for services. I come to you because you are the vet. This is the service you offer. Why am I being charged extra for service you already provide? If you don’t have enough staffing, that is a business issue. I should not be paying more because (and this is the explanation I was given on the phone) “the doctor and/or techs have to step away from what they’re doing to assist.” Very poor business practices from the office manager who is clearly looking for profits.
They also have a doctor who cannot clearly communicate with patients. Due to a language barrier, when he explained our dogs condition, it was told to us as if our dog had a terminal illness. You can imagine how stressful that is. The reality was it was a blood level to keep an eye on. It is a wonderful thing to have doctors available to communicate with other patients, but we need a doctor who can communicate with us. We will be changing who we work with due to the poor experiences here.

We've gone to them for almost 10 years, and unfortunately we're ending the relationship via death by a thousand cuts. They are constantly trying to upsell now. Techs are mediocre. They egregiously over charged us for a dental cleaning that originally had a range of $750-$1000 (including a few anticipated extractions), but while my dog was under, they told us he need 3-4 extra extractions to the tune of $2.5k total...we had no choice really.
But more than that they appear to have gone fully corporate. They will no longer write prescriptions for outside pharmacies like Chewy (huge savings), they will only fill out Rx for their own in-house pharmacy which of course will bleed you dry...
Greedy and disgusting behavior. They've lost all semblance of integrity.

I want to say thankyou for the lovely syphathy card your office sent me. I really appreciate the care your staff took, to care for my sweet chloe (cat) when I have brought her in before in the past ❤️. Most animal hospitals probably wouldn't take the time and effort to do this. Thankyou for caring.

Always a pleasure for me. The staff and doctors all demonstrate knowledge and concern - even when one of my pets is very difficult!

My 1 yr old puppy, Butters became very ill with vomiting and diarrhea. It was on and off for 2 days, it wasn’t that bad and he was still wanting to eat, drinking plenty of water and playful. Thought I’d monitor because he probably ate something on our walk etc. The third day it was worse and he began to look sad and obviously wasn’t feeling well. I called UAH and Dr. Allison was amazing along with the entire staff. I never feel rushed and she is open to discussing any questions! She thoughtfully gave Butters an exam and talked to me and listened so that she could consider all angles to figure out the best treatment plan. It worked and he idling great today and I could not be happier with the help I received for my sweet little guy, or the support they gave me!
Well done Dr Allison and UAH staff!

I recently started going to University Animal Hospital and I have to say they are amazing! They care about my dogs like I care about my dogs and that’s all you can ask for in a vet. Highly recommend!!

Everything was great, except the receptionist. We ran late because, we forgot the stool sample, so we had to collect one outside the vets office. We ended up being 9 minutes late, and when my wife was walking in, the receptionist was calling her, telling her she needed to cancel our appointment, and reschedule. The woman was very rude, even as my wife tried to explain, as she walked in the door with our dog. We have been going to this vetenary clinic for years, and have spent a small fortune there, so we were a bit surprised at the woman's behavior. We have never encountered her before, and hopefully we will never again! Had it not been for the other employees, especially the vetenary assistant, we were considering finding a new vetenary clinic.

Absolutely the best. Very helpful and friendly. You can tell they all love what they do it shows in how they treat your animal and answer your questions.

The staff has very bad service, they treat you as if you were not paying your money and they were doing you a favor for free. When they give your pet medication, most of them don't explain anything to you, which is supposed to be their job and not to treat you as if you were bothering them.

I recently switched from a different vet to here and I do not regret my decision. Amazing friendly efficient staff. I loved loved loved Dr. Basso. She is knowledgeable, sweet, patient and my dog Lola loved her. I love this place and I am glad she is my dogs new doctor ❤️❤️❤️

New to the area and a friend referred us to University Animal Hospital. Both visits with both of our dogs have been great. Everyone is so nice.
