The Assistance Fund has been such a blessing to me and my husband. Big copayments can be devastating, on top of insurance premiums and all that goes with serious illness. I am forever in their debt. ❣️

I've received assistance form The Assistance Fund for a few years so all I had do do each year was fill out the Reenrollment page online to renew my fund. I Reenrolled 11/2/22 and was told to continue to use my existing Member card for my medication for all of 2023. On January 2, 2023 my $40,000 medication was reordered, for which I have a $4000 co-pay. I find out in late January from my pharmacy that The Assistance Fund denied their claim for my medication. After calling The Assistance Fund on Jan. 27th, I was told that there was no funds available for my medication. I received no notification saying this and after my Reenrollment told me to keep using the existing card I have, I was under the impression I was granted my fund again. The Assistance Fund finally sent me a latter dated February 8, 2023. More then a month after I already received my medication that had a $4000 co-payment. If I knew there was no fund available earlier, I would not have ordered my medication. Now I am stuck with a $4000 bill from my pharmacy which I cannot afford. That's why I was getting assistance to pay for it.All I can say is be careful if you get a accepted for a fund from The Assistance Fund, check every month before you order your medication to make sure the Fund is still available so you don't en up with a $4000 bill like I did.

Did everything that I was told and they still find reason to not reimburse for insurance premiums. Pretty much give you the round around to not reimburse. Personally, I feel it is a scam at this point. You have my pay deduction per check and benefit summary. Any reason to not pay so my advice is to not waste your time. They also don't disclose anything as they should.

My husband, Joel, received medication funding for Parkinson's Disease with Lewy Body disease. He was given samples of Nuplacid the day after the doctor received them. Without funding from The Assistance Fund we would have been unable to afford to purchase the medication. The people who work at TAF have the patience of Job and the kindness of a saint. Joel was able to stay at home with me until October, 2020. He spent less than a year in the care facility. TAF continued their support until his time of death in August, 2021. We would not have been able to do ay of this without TAF's involvement.

For an organization that is supposed to assist people, they did nothing except cause me an extreme headache for a year and a half. They approve you for the program but deny your claims. I wasted so much time trying to deal with representatives and supervisors who were rude and completely non-cooperative. I refuse to re-enroll in a program that refused to help me and instead put me into tears of frustration several times. The CEO should be ashamed of the organization he is running. You haven't helped me at all. You've only made my unnecessarily excessive amount of time dealing with you a complete nightmare.

My husband and I are both retired. We could not afford his Parkinson's medicine without this help. We are beyond grateful.

I had the worst experience ever trying to fill out an application for assistance from these people. Rude when your chat with a "patient advocate" is ended summarily without answering my question. I tried again with another agent, and they never even responded to me! The directions on one part of the app were non-existent, thereby not allowing me to submit the application. Then I tried calling them, asking to be connected to a supervisor. I waited 5 minutes--they never came on the line. I called back, telling the agent of my frustrations. She said the supervisor would be with me "momentarily." That stretched into more minutes of waiting. There is no excuse for this miserable conduct. Does tafcares.org really care?
