If I could rate zero stars to Southwest Family Medical I would. My whole family is established as patients and have been patients for more than 4 years. Their service and patient care has declined tremendously due to the unprofessionalism and inexperienced office staff. Their office employees have lost all empathy and only care about charging people’s insurance. (If you work in the medical field and are afraid of sick patients then you are working in the wrong profession) Do not believe what their website says!! They do not offer sick visits like all other PCP offices.Nicole and the Office Manager denied my daughter medical attention after making her take an at home Covid test to make sure she was negative and then calling back. My daughter was told that if she tested negative to call back so they could schedule an appointment but when she called complaining about not feeling well Nicole and the office Manager told her that she had to have her symptoms for more than 5 days before she can be seen in person! COVID TEST IS NEGATIVE. A person who has a common cold with asthma can suffocate in five days without medical treatment. Untreated colds in the lungs will turn into pneumonia.According to Nicole who is the person answering the phones, you have to have been sick and unwell for 5 DAYS before they can give an established patient an appointment to see them in person. My daughter has underlying asthma issues and needs to have her lungs checked but they won’t give her an in person appointment. They did offer a tele health visit to charge my insurance but how can someone’s lungs be checked for wheezing virtually????Save yourselves the headache, money and time. Do not go to South West Family Medical! I do not recommend this place! Go to a real medical, professional and more experienced facility. Go to PCPs affiliated with Orlando Health or Advent Health where they do care about their patients. For the kind of medical care South West Family Medical offers, it’s better to just go to the hospital or an urgent care. I do not understand their medical logic???

I was a patient here for over 10 years. But the service has gone down ever since they went corporate and are now part of WellMed.Now you’re just a number and they want you in and out. They don’t listen to you (probably because they have to hit a goal of how many patients they have to see in a day). I had an issue and had to get a blood test. No one would call and discuss my results unless I made an appointment (give them $$$). In the past they would’ve just called and told me my results and my next steps.Although the doctors and staff mean well, go somewhere else, corporate just wants your money to make their shareholders happy.

I hadn’t been to a primary care doctor in years; mostly just visiting urgent cares if I felt like I desperately needed to. When I made the decision to start taking my health a little more seriously, a family member recommended this office to me. Megha Parekh and her nurse were absolutely incredible! They calmed my nerves immediately, there was zero judgement, and they went above and beyond to make sure I was cared for. The receptionists were some of the kindest people I have encountered at a medical office. When I had a change in my condition 24 hours after my initial visit, they immediately offered help and consultation to what my next steps should be. I can’t recommend them enough to anyone who may be looking for a new primary care office!

This is the 3 year IN A ROW that they cancel my physical exam. This time on the same day, 2-3 hours before the appointment. I have been on hold waiting to speak with a rep for over 40 min now (I called 3 different days, over 15 min hold with no rep on the line). This is going to be the 2nd time I miss on my employer health benefits because they cancel me and they don’t allow me to take my annual exam before… go somewhere else.

What will it take to reach someone, anyone, at this office? I've been calling..after ages on hold..multiple times..your IVR just hangs up. Attempted to use the patient portal, will not let me send a message (tried 2 different computers and 2 different browsers). Wellmed has absolutely ruined your practice. If it wasn't for my provider I would never, ever return. I need to speak to a human. It should not be this hard to reach you. Ridiculous.

This office has changed in past couple years. No way to talk to an actual person. Not very accommodating or friendly anymore. if you try to call the office, you will not get an answer. Try it, 407-352-9717 No way to schedule, cancel, reschedule, or ask a medical question. You have to drive there to speak to someone. Not even a way to leave a message. So frustrating!

This is an excellent (and friendly and kind) group practice and everyone on staff goes the extra mile for patients. Efficient and on-time. Dr. DeLeon is the best. BUT since it sold to WellMed there is no way to communicate with your doctor...the message center no longer works. And you could wait a long time when phoning in. This is unacceptable.

This practice has gotten so bad since the new company has taken over. They have people making decisions about who can be seen by a doctor by people who have no medical degrees. The phone operators are rude. Trying to get an appointment is like trying to see the president. All they want to do is do telemed visits. How can you listen to a patient's who has a chest cold over the phone. I will be finding a new practice as soon as possible.

If I could give a negative star, I totally would! While some of the nurses in this office are professional and compassionate,You will find that some receptionists are not only unprofessional, but they lack compassion and are just down right rude! One in particular TAWAUNA or whatever she calls herself literally hung up the phone on a patient who is in distress. This type of behavior should not be acceptable in a medical environment where most patients are in distress at the time of their visit or phone call. In my opinion anyone working with patients on any level should harness exceptional customer service skills. Unfortunately that is not the case here. I also feel that if someone is just calling themselves a customer service representative to collect a check they should never be allowed to deal with medical patients. As bad as things are in today’s society one would think that patience, compassion and class should be just a few of their core qualifications and values.

Just called in to set an appointment, my father goes here and that's the reason I called. Bad mistake on my part, two months out the person said for new patients. Well, i need an appointment before then so I won't be a new patient. You lost my business. Plus if you look at the reviews this does not sound like a doctor's office I want to be at. I will be discussing with my father and hope he moves to a new office. Yikes !

Have been a patient at SWFM for over 7 years and as of the last year the service has dropped to an all time low. I have recently torn my meniscus and went to my PA to get a MRI requested, after it wasn’t sufficiently written to my insurance company’s standards they have ignored me and my insurance company’s emails, calls, and voice messages trying to get them to correct their mistake. I am appalled by the entire process and a month later, still haven’t gotten an update and still haven’t received proper treatment. Only go to this facility if you don’t value your time or health.

Staff was polite and professional when receiving people at their counters...the check-in and our. Thank you for being kind and gentle with me in my state. I'm not the usual weak and scared-like person but the staff treated me well. Again, THANK YOU.

This place is trash. My wife and I just moved to Florida and she has been on birth control for 10 years. All she needed was a refill for her prescription. After she went in for blood work, she was told they would refill her prescription but they called a week later and said they decided not to refill her prescription and instead required her to take a pregnancy test. Neither one of us have ever heard of requiring a pregnancy test for birth control. When she reluctantly said yes to a pregnancy test and came in to the office, they notified her that they would not accept our insurance, despite saying before they would. They then would not let her see her doctor and instead sent her to another doctor to do the pregnancy test. The other doctor only does geriatrics and had no knowledge of women’s reproductive health. This whole ordeal took time out of her work schedule and caused considerable and unnecessary stress. Terrible communication and an absolute trash place. Whatever you do, do not go here at all. We will be finding another doctors office.

Terrible practice. They make you see the doctor every 30 days for prescriptions rather than giving multiple months. Awful experience. Far better options out there.after working with them all of December to assign a doctor to my insurance - they decide to drop the insurance and only notify me when I call for a televisit. Very unprofessional!!
