For my opinion not 5 Star. Worn down rooms old. No sparkling as 5 years ago. No color as original City. Windows not cleaned.

We’ve stayed here several times, each time we learn something new. The onsite concierge service will book you a car to the airport comparable to Uber but reliable. Your room key and express pass for Universal are one and the same, you can charge purchases to the room while at the parks, so you don’t have to carry anything extra to the park. The onsite eateries are all great, make sure to check out the Gelato place!
Rooms: Very spacious, air conditioning worked fantastic, there were shampoo/conditioner/soap in the showers…so don’t pack any!
Nearby activities: Water taxi to Universal and Islands of Adventure was our priority when booking, we wanted to stay near and have the capability of the express pass.

The rooms are beautiful. The staff is less than helpful. I lost an item, was told by security to call back in an hour to see if they found it. The price you pay for this hotel and they care not about the service you receive. I was upset so I went to the front counter and the manager told me they found it but they didn’t know who was missing it. That’s because they didn’t do their job in asking a name or a room number so they could actually provide a service. I told the manager this as well. Her only comment to me was “I’m sorry”. How about a MANAGER says I’ll fix it. Nope she won’t and my family will never stay here again. They will take your money with arms wide open and then provide the worst customer service.
Update. And the item they brought me wasn’t not even what I told them I lost. With more telling me to keep calling them for an update. This is ridiculous.
Nearby activities: The park is close.

This is a lovely property. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and beds a so comfortable. The water taxi was always available. All the restaurants were wonderful. They were still doing a bit of renovations, but it was in the back by the Villa pool, so we did not stay there long because it got noisy. I would definitely stay here again.

Rooms look a bit tired and there are building works near the lobby
Rooms: Tired
Nearby activities: Universal is a 10 min walk
Safety: 24hr security
Walkability: Walkable to universal
Food and drinks: Good choices but not cheap
Noteworthy details: Stay here and get express pass from checking day to checkout day. The room is usually cheaper than buying the passes in park for a party of two or more

We’ve stayed at the Portofino twice. It’s always excellent. Universal is so much fun, especially during Halloween Horror Nights. Bring back the Starbucks!

Had a great stay, besides the construction issues (expected anyway). Our room was clean and comfortable, nice view of the harbor, pool was nice (pool attendants were awesome!). Also kudos to the two ladies at customer service, helping us get tickets to Epic in June/2025, explained all details and managed to do it efficiently. Valet service was super. Only thing that disappointed me was Sal's Market Deli ... the breakfast Ham/Egg/Cheese wasn't as good as it was during my last stay, and no Parfait available, very sad. Room service (turn-down for the sofa bed) was done ASAP. Boat ride to UO/IA was very efficient, never waited more than 10 minutes. A bit expensive, but getting the express pass for 3 of us for 2 days is awesome. Also HHN was excellent, recommended.

This is my first time staying here. We just checked in and I am HIGHLY disappointed to say the least! I wanted to cry - literally! There is no garden view for the garden view rooms, only trees - not a flower in sight! They should have just closed during the construction, because there’s too much going on. And people are still being charged the regular rates despite the construction. They put up construction tarps with fake windows on them…I guess so that the construction isn’t such an eyesore. They need a shuttle, golf carts or SOMETHING to get you to your room from the lobby. Someone with any kind of health or walking issues shouldn’t even bother. This is my first time staying here, I usually stay at Disney then visit Universal’s parks. I regret experimenting. It’s not worth staying there just to get the universal passes if you don’t want poor accommodations. I will SURELY being doing a full video for my YT channel. My advice to someone before they spend their money to stay here is, IT’S NOT WORTH IT!

Staff is amazing. Very quick room service. I love you can text the hotel and they will text you right back. The pools were amazing! We stayed in the west wing and would definitely request to stay there again. Close to the pools and right by the water taxi. 10/10
Food and drinks: Food by the pool was good. And the deli was delicious!

Loved staying at this resort! Ambiance was great even with the construction going on, barely noticed it. Wish I even explored more than I did! Will definitely be back!

Parking got overcharged. Hotel was full of construction and shops on site weren't open/existent. Room smelled like mold and no other rooms available to move to even though place was basically empty. Bad experience

We had a good time at this resort. The construction was not too much of an issue. They're doing a great job on the exterior. The rooms a bit tired as others have mentioned. The windows were compromised by moisture so often condensation blocked them. The caulking was shabby where it was needed. Otherwise the service was excellent and the ambiance great. This is a massive resort and a bit confusing on day one. They put a big hold for incidentals which is usually a sign that their clientele are sketchy (we fully paid beforehand so an $800 hold was a bit odd). Lots of pool options and the water taxi was helpful alternative to walking. I would go back to see how renovations go. I wouldn't pay more than I did though.
