What ever happened to customer service. Two rentals over a 6 month period and both with issues. First time, had a dirty Tesla with lights that were aiming up and in different directions. Got a replacement, another dirty Tesla. Second time, rude desk agent. Also returned the car at 4:30am - employees walking all around the place but nobody came to check us in. Told to just drop it off. Got the bill and they charged me a late fee showing that the car was returned after 2:30pm. I bet the other 50 or so returned cars got hit with a late charge as well. Hertz Customer Service is a joke. They want you to type in your issue and tell you someone will contact you in 3-5 business days. I did that explaining the issue and got a response that didn't acknowledge the issue with my rental. I figured a way out to get someone on the line. They said they would adjust the receipt. I asked for a copy of the updated receipt and was told to check back in 48 hours. Really, your system won't just send me an updated receipt. Just plain Shippy service. Guess it's time to try another rental company.

Avoid at all costs!
The agent at the counter won’t rent me the car (that I had a reservation for) without me buying the liability insurance! She flat out refused to accept my personal insurance liability coverage.
Not only this, the agent also tricked me into buying a $79 toll pass by convincing me that it will be cheaper when in reality it clearly wasn’t.
When I reached out to the manager with these complaints he flat out refused to do anything.

I strongly suggest not renting from Hertz. When I rented a car recently, an additional $500 hold was placed on my account, which is completely understandable since they need to make sure their vehicles are taken care of. I was told at the time of my rental that the $500 would be refunded after I returned the vehicle. I returned my rental on time and in perfect condition, then waited two weeks, but the hold is still on my account. I called my bank, and they said they needed a letter from Hertz in order to release the hold. I then called Hertz customer service (side note: they make it extremely difficult to get in touch with a live person) to request a letter, and they flat out refused. They tried to give me some authorization code, which didn't work, and claimed it was the bank withholding the money. This is a lie, and my bank told me they have had this issue with several Hertz customers in the past. Hertz continues to refuse to provide the letter even though they are fully capable of doing it, and I am out $500. I have filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am awaiting a response. Save yourself the headache and rent a car somewhere else.

Got charged TWICE for a car THEY DIDN’T HAVE even though I reserved it two months in advance. Still waiting for my refund. This was back in April.

Second time in Orlando this year. We rented from Hertz both times. My wife reserved a very specific car each time. We let them know our flight time and estimated arrival when we booked online. Both times, we have had to wait 30 or more minutes for our car to be brought up. The 1st time our car was clean. This last time, it was clear that the car had either not been cleaned or cleaned poorly. See the picture of what seems to be a toenail setting on the dashboard. The car had a mild smell. The car had not been washed in some time. The key fob had been broken, and the plastic surrounding it was half lost. The button to unlock the trunk did not work. Staff basically said this was the only car they had and said to take it or leave it. When questioned as to why we had to wait for such a long time, they seemed to indicate it was our fault for not telling them that we wanted a specific car and when we would be arriving. Since all of that information is in the reservation, I was reminded of the Seinfield car rental episode about the reservation, meaning you actually reserve a car and not just take money from people. So much for reservations, gold status, etc. While one may have a wonderful experience with this Hertz, I have had one terrible one and one ok one. I would recommend that if you have options, look closely at those other options before making this one your choice. By the way, it seems you can not actually talk with a "manager," but you can send an email and see if someone emails or calls you back.

They are shocked and unprepared when you show up and try to pick up the car you pre-booked.

They do not tell you anywhere about the $200 -$500 fee that they charge

As Hertz is now part of the Virgin Atlantic Fly Drive Package, had no option but to use them.
Checking in process was so drawn out, took nearly an hour to book the cars and sort out all of the paperwork at the check-in desk.
Totally difference experience when picking up the vehicle, Stephen was excellent and extremely helpful. Made sure the Sat Nav worked and all the fitting were there, explained the seating and how to adjust them etc.
Would have been 1 star if not for Stephen's assistant and helpfulness.

I’ll never rent from this location. I prepaid for a reservation and when i got to the desk, the guy said i paid too much and would give me a better deal by not going through the third party. I agreed and then come to find out i was charged double and couldn’t get a refund from either side!
Also, he added on insurance when i told him i have my own insurance, which added insult to injury because i had a flat tire as soon as i took the car and when i returned it for an exchanged vehicle, they charged me $98 for emergency service. What’s the point of them adding insurance to my vehicle and then charging me when something happens!?? Like i said, DO NOT reserve at this location!

Recently rented a car from Hertz Uber Orlando, and I have now found 5 small german roaches roaming the car...is this how your company runs your business? I would be beyond embarrased if one of my customers complained that they found a roach in one of my rentals. Disgusting. The car smells, i've cleaned it 3 times, nothing. I might just ozone it. Ontop of all that I recived the vehicle with 34% battery. I am beyond dissapointed.

Extremly upset with the lack of customer service from the MCO branch. Their urgency and attention to our reported left items was unacceptable and resulted in THEFT. We dropped the car off at 1 am on Sunday morning and turned around and came back 30 minutes later to retrieve the sunglasses we had left in the sunglass holder. We were told the car had already been returned to the off-site location and there was nothing they could do. They would not let us retrieve the items in the car. We followed the steps to report the missing items and were met with an automated message that they were not located the following morning. We attempted to contact someone at the branch numerous times over the past week to explain the situation and each time we were forced to leave voicemail and only received one call back. The sunglasses in the cars sunglass holder exceeded the amount of $600. The lack of urgency in this matter allowed someone to STEAL the sunglasses, this entire situation should have been avoided. I expected better customer service from this company. Take your business elsewhere.
*EDIT* to add to my frustrations they responded to this review with an automated response to then report the issue to another automated system. Ridiculous.

Cars are being sent out dirty, faulty and staff give the impression of just wanting to get you out of there rather than dealing with the issues.

The workers saw that we were trying to rent a vehicle last minute from them and they wanna say that they are out of all the sedan type cars. On their website I can rental a sedan car for about a hundred forty bucks for three days they wanted me to pay 600 for 3 days. Scam artists at its finest.
