I had never been to Dovecote before and we went for my birthday dinner last night before seeing all the drama online! Just wanted to give a review of our experience, which wasn't on a jazz night so we didn't have a time limit or anything like that. Dovecote was the only restaurant I could find that allowed our group of 12 to do Magical Dining. Everyone enjoyed their meals overall, the cocktails were definitely the highlight! The Red Cote and the Smoked Old Fashioned were our favorites. The beef carpaccio was really good (presentation was nice too, but totally forgot to take a photo before I ate the whole thing!), the truffled chicken was pretty bland, my husband got the bacon wrapped pork chop and he ate the whole thing, mixed reviews from the group for the NY strip, I had the chocolate mousse bear and it was ok, very small, the mushroom part you see in other's photos was missing on all of ours, it just wasn't anything special. I tasted the creme brulee and it was good! We had two servers the whole night and one of them, Aaron, was amazing. He always checked on us and kept our glasses filled, took a bunch of group photos for us and even suggested different locations that would be better for photos. At one point a not so friendly guy was helping serve our desserts, and he seemed like one of the managers... but our servers were great! Service was not slow at all as other reviewers have stated, but we went on a Wednesday so it was less busy. Overall, the restaurant is beautiful, love that they have free parking, but the food wasn't really exceptional so I wouldn't want to spend that much money on entrees that are just meh. I also would never go on their jazz night where you apparently have a time limit and may get kicked out. We definitely enjoyed our experience though!

DoveCote was a pleasant surprise. Discovered this nice restaurant very last minute. The menu and the pictures of the food were the selling point for me. The restaurant was easy to make a last minute reservation for Sunday brunch. The hostesses were polite, well dressed and very accommodating when I called to modify the reservation. They easily checked us in and we're obliged my request that my grandmother and I sit somewhere quiet. Our server Gabriel was friendly and attentive. He was knowledgeable about the menu, reviewed the specials, and even made recommendations. He also adjusted the speed of his service when I shared we would be moving slow. The food was fantastic. My grandmother had the Ham and Cheese beignets and I had the Duck & Waffles with a side of Brussels sprouts. Everything was beautifully prepared with great flavor and attention to detail. The waffle was a little dense but I believe that to be the actual preparation style. Lastly, they had an abundance of tea and coffee selections and great portions. They even had a variety of nondairy selections and I was able to request steamed coconut milk on the side. The ambiance was nice. You could tell the restaurant was a little older but it was very clean. From my view, I was able to see the kitchen staff and they seemed to take their jobs seriously with great pride in their preparation of each plate. I would recommend them to wear hair nets or some sort of hat, while preparing meals. The female manager was present and made eye contact and a smiled. She did have an opportunity to say hello, perform a 2 bite check in and to gauge our overall dining experience. Overall, this was a lovely restaurant and worth a trip to downtown Orlando. The menu and food were the highlights of the visit. We received what we came for and a tad bit more, which is always a pleasant surprise. With Gratitude ??

Our entrees were mostly good except for the Chicken and waffles, the whole entree was cold and waffles were hard to chew, like old bread. The main problem with our visit was the service. We finished our first round of drinks and waited forever for server to come check on us. Food came out and we still hadn't seen the server. We had to ask the person who delivered the food for drinks. We literally finished our food before we got a second round.

We had a party of 12 and did Magical Dining. The service was very slow, not our waiters fault - he was lovely, but took an hour to get bread. The food was delicious but small servings on the entree. Our whole group was still hungry after dinner. Would certainly try again but not the Magical Dining and maybe not a Saturday night.

This was the worse service I ever experienced, the manager was totally unresponsive, the waiter was an inexperiences and only care when we complain that we didn't have our food after two hours of sitting down ,do not recommend a restaurant to anyone, in fact, the restaurant should close for business.

We had a fabulous meal at Dovecote for Magical Dining Month. I chose the menu based on the number of gluten free dishes available (which was the most out of all the participating restaurants). The place is lovely and the food and service were faultless. The restaurant had a great atmosphere too. Would highly recommend and will be back!

Really poor service. Took an hour before appetizers, everyone was delayed, poor excuses given, staff didn't seem to care, no management to be found, and food was blah. Reservations should tell you how busy you will be. If you can't support this, don't open.

Incredibly slow service/food. Over 40 minutes from being seated to receiving salads. Very long delays between courses. Food was mostly good but chocolate mousse was bizarre mix of flavors and textures

A definite must for anyone who have not had the pleasure to dine at DoveCote. From the moment you walk into the establishment - to the drinks, food, service and ambience - everything was excellent. We chose the Magical Dining menu and everything was fabulous. A shoutout to our server Raz - such a great guy and was super attentive. And the live jazz just added to the ambience.

Came to enjoy Take 5 with friends. However, our reservation was cut short when we were asked to leave because the next group's reservation was approaching. Kyle Tazioli called the police and said we were trespassing and cancelled our remaining order. What an embarrassing situation! It gave the illusion that we were refusing to pay; when in fact, our party of 5 had spent $550+ before were told to leave. There was another party who met us outside at the valet who had also experienced being asked to leave as well. We were enjoying a great evening with friends until this completely ruined the whole mood and our evening. The police were called to obviously intimidate us and the men in our party. We were treated with disrespect and ignored.

The Magical Dining Menu was great. From the appetizers through the dessert the food was expertly prepared and beautifully delivered. Our server Raz was exceptionally attentive. He made great recommendations and was thoroughly prepared to answer our questions about the various choices on the Magical Dining menu. We had the added bonus of a talented Jazz group who played expertly and added a treasured experience to our fabulous meal. Definitely recommend this restaurant as one of the go to restaurants during Magical Dining.

This is a gem downtown. You must give it a try and the easy way is the magical dining menu. Took my wife and son and all three of us had an excellent dining experience. Fully deserved rating

I had my family of 10 show up for a brunch. The manager was horrible. I did not catch her nene but whoever owns the place needs to check her attitude. The service was less than stellar and part of our order was burnt. Will not eat here again. Beware.

I had the most phenomenal magical dining experience here at DoveCote! From the moment we got to this place, they were very welcoming and attentive to our needs throughout our whole time here. The service, ranging from the host and our server, Raz, was impeccable. The ambiance was classy and timeless. First course: Hands down the best beef carpaccio I have ever had! I think what makes this dish really stand out, was surprisingly the bread. Usually, restaurants would just have normal toasted bread accompanying the dish, but this dish had exceptional bread. It was very buttery and just paired well with the beef. You can tell that they are very attentive to details! Second course: Truffled Chicken Breast. The chicken breast was very tender and in a gravy like sauce. The mash potatoes were both creamy and chunky, a great texture. It was filled with lots of asparagus too! Dessert: Classy Crème Brûlée! Very sweet and reminded me of why I love crème brûlée so much. Perfect last dish to top the night off. To end the night off, the lovely host decided to hand out extra white roses from a wedding dinner that was taking place that night. I would highly recommend going here for an unforgettable experience, would definitely return here. 10/10 ? (Something to note: They have a complimentary small parking lot towards the back, and they will validate your ticket if you parked in the nearby parking garage.)

It was raining and it sure was nice to park in their paid for garage that you never have to be in the elements from garage to restaurant. The food and Razz's service were excellent. We were magical dining, but were treated like we were paying full price. I would eat here again.
