Complaint Regarding Discriminatory Treatment at Bank of America Branches in Orlando, FL
Dear Bank of America Customer Service,
I am writing to formally lodge a complaint about the discriminatory and harassing treatment I have experienced at two of your branches in Orlando, FL. As a minority, I feel deeply troubled by the way I was treated during my recent visits to your Orange Avenue and Oak Ridge locations.
On my visit to the Orange Avenue branch, I attempted to cash a check but was informed that I needed to open an account to proceed, despite my check being verified and my ID checked. The manager and cashier spent over 15 minutes verifying other checks I had cashed for even larger amounts. Feeling harassed and discriminated against, I decided not to return to that location and discarded the branch manager's card.
Today, I visited the Oak Ridge branch and encountered an even worse situation. I was told that because the name on the check was printed by me instead of the owner, it could not be cashed. Then, I was given a series of excuses about the amount of the check preventing it from being cashed. After spending over an hour in the branch, I was finally assisted by Branch Manager Jackeline Salinas, who realized she and her cashier had cashed the same check last month for an even larger amount. Yet, she still decided to call the check owner to verify authorization, which was both embarrassing and disrespectful.
I am appalled by the treatment I received and the apparent reluctance to assist me as a customer. It is unacceptable to be forced to open an account to cash a check if the account owner has an account and the funds have been verified.
I expect a prompt and thorough investigation into these incidents and appropriate actions taken to ensure that no other customers experience such discriminatory treatment. I also request an apology for the embarrassment and disrespect I have endured.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response.

Bruce Alvarado went above and beyond to help me on a Friday afternoon, less than an hour before closing.Even though I didn't have an appointment (not typical, I know they are usually a very busy branch) Bruce understood my needs and was able to help me resolve my situation on the spot and very quickly.I recognize that this is not always possible, but with a little luck of encountering the right person, a massive difference can be made! When effort is put in, it's amazing what can be accomplished in a short amount of time! For that, I sincerely appreciate Bruce for taking the time and making that happen for me!

I get to the bank at 10am, there’s about 5 o 6 bankers running around and there’s no people waiting and they have to wait until 11 to see if the 11am appointment shows up. They are just back and forth doing nothing instead of assisting. The sad part is that all BOA are the same!!!!! I’m so fed up with this bank and their fraud alerts that will freeze up your account for nothing. They need to implement another way of assisting and managing their business. The thing is that they don’t even care to loose a customer.

There is a teller here of subpar intelligence. This individual struggles with the task of putting cash into an envelope. I'm very pleased that you employ the mentally challenged, however the teller can probably learn basic skills if the teller applies themselves and spends a few weeks in intense training. YOU CAN DO IT TELLER! Just believe in yourself and anything's possible!

There was an exceedingly long line with only two tellers on duty smack dab in the middle of a Friday afternoon.

Worst management and the slowest cashers in the world. So disappointed. Waited one hour to deposit a one check.
