I booked a car weeks in advance and when I went to pick it up, their ID scanner wouldn't scan my ID. We tried every license in my party (4 in total) and none worked.They refused to rent me a car because their machine wasn't working.Called their customer service and they were no help.Avoid Avis, especially this location. They are useless.

VERY BAD SERVICE, I'VE BEEN CHARGING FOR MONTHS AND ASKING FOR THE DEPOSIT TO BE RETURNED AND THEY ONLY ARE WORKING TO NOT RETURN IT. THEY ASK ME FOR DOCUMENTS AND EVERY TIME I SEND THE DOCUMENTS THEY COME OUT WITH SOMETHING NEW TO NOT RETURN THE DEPOSIT. IT IS NOT FAIR FOR THEY TO PLAY WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS I HOPE TO BE ABLE TO MAKE A FORMAL DEMAND SINCE IT IS NOT FAIR.

Avis at Doubletree at Universal Entrance I was supposed to stay open until 6:00 PM on Tuesday 10/31/23. Avis counter person said he put down my return at 5:30. I brought the car back and was at the counter at 5:00. No one at counter. I needed a printed receipt to get reimbursed so waited until 6:15. No key drop box there. No one showed up. Left keys with the person at the hotel front desk with instructions to have Avis agent email me a copy. It’s Thursday and I’ve still not received one and can’t get one from Avis website with either the confirmation number or the rental agreement number. Why when he said to return the car at 5:30 and I waited until after his quitting time did he not show up? Why can’t I get a receipt with either the confirmation number or the rental agreement number. Talked to 3 people at Avis who were no help at all

I paid for a more expensive electric category because I wanted to drive a Tesla.When I got to the balcony the employee simply told me that a Tesla was not available and gave me an ICE MustangI didn't want a Mustang, I could have paid for a cheaper car if I wanted an ICE car.If I made the reservation for a Tesla why wasn't a Tesla available?I felt like I was in a Seinfeld episode where the rental company simply tells Seinfeld that the car is not available.Paraphrasing him: "I guess Avis doesn't how what a reservation is, the reservation keeps the car here, if they did I would have a Tesla, they how how to take the reservation, they don't know how to hold it, and that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding, anybody can just take them"

Horrible experience with Avis. I have never had a bad experience renting a car until I got with Avis. Waited for someone to take care of us for about an hour. When the guy finally arrived at the counter he wanted us to pay with a credit card for a deposit and the fee of rental for a car we never asked for since it was considered luxury. After telling him I had no credit card on me with that limit, and him basically saying there’s nothing to be done I questioned why we were being given a luxury vehicle if I asked for a standard compact car. It was then that he said “fine” and took my regular debit card while still giving us the luxury vehicle as an option. We decided to take the compact car as planned and once we got in the vehicle, the AC wasn’t working. We took less than 5 minutes to get in the car and realize this and when we went back to the counter he was gone AGAIN so we waited another 20 minutes for him to get back. He ended up giving us the luxury vehicle after saying “right I know you’d want a working A/c in this heat” once we got the car we had it for about 4 days and when we went to go turn it back in again, no one at the counter. Waited an hour before calling the 1800 number and asking for instructions because we had a flight to catch. We had to leave the keys with the hotel staff because there was no one available at all. Left a note and took pictures of everything because now I’m scared they’ll hit me with any bogus surcharges since a I was not able to verify anything when dropping the car off. Overall the most time wasting, frustrating and just annoying part of our trip. Definitely will never book Avis again and suggest no one else does. Go with budget instead, way easierThey asked me to reach out to them and they never responded. Please don’t use this company

Added a fuel charge even though it was full and tried to charge me $12 per day for the ultimate toll pass even though it was $3.95 something per day.

If I can rate a zero star I would, this car rental company lent me a vehicle with a broken bumper and worn break pad that causes the car to vibrate every brake I made in the freeway. They just filed a damage capture report on the car that I rented blaming I was the one who did the damage(just because I did not avail your insurance??? Insurance scam??). Glad I took pictures of the damage before I even took off from the garage. I even noticed that the dashboard was dirty as heck and took a video of it as well.I reported the damage to the agent when I returned the vehicle and told me there should be no problem and I should be good and yet they still filed this damage capture report! I am still waiting for their response. This is unacceptable!

Got a standard sedan while we reserved and paid for an intermediate SUV. What’s even worse is we made sure to fill the tank upon returning the car (as you can see in the picture) but still got charged $73.24 for fuel service in receipt. Plus, the agent at this location was pretty rude. Would NEVER recommend!

Every time I have to return to this location, the rental agent is never available. She leaves early!! Not considering the patrons. Additionally, because they leave early, the cars arent checked until the next day, which cost you a late fee. ?.
