Knew someone that went here because they were baker acted trying to commit suicide. When they got here they got made fun of for trying to kill themselves & couldnt believe it was a co-ed dorm. Easily could have been attacked by any man & no one would have done anything. staff doesnt care about anyone but themselves nor do they pay attention. & if you dont have proper clothes they give you paper clothes! Disgusting facility all around. My friend unfortunately took her life shortly after leaving here. She couldnt deal with the extra pain & stress from this place & she was still messed up by the man that made fun of her for trying to kill herself. I hope he’s happy with himself. I wish I got his name from her.

Wow... A friend of the family was baker acted here. They roughed him up. Supposedly drug him with his feet sliding on the floor. Now he is in a situation where he might have to have his toe cut off.Who am I to tell you guys how to do your jobs? I'm sure it's not an easy job. But please remember that you see these people in their worst state. Sometimes behind the mental illness, are really good people. Your job is to have compassion and understanding and to handle these people with care and help them get better. He is a really good guy... Quiet, timid and introverted. Wouldn't hurt a fly. You guys didn't have to handle him like that.

Scheduling is a bit tough to get done in this facility, but once things are straightened out it's alright. Reception staff are nice, but the assistants are not. They carry themselves in a way where it seems like they don't like their jobs or interacting with people. As for my psych provider, she is a beautiful soul and wonderful to interact with. She truly took the time to listen to my feedback regarding my progress, as well as set up a timeline for my treatment. I am very pleased with the provider I was assigned to. I look forward to my appts with her.

If you're thinking of ending your life, do it before admitting yourself to this hell. First they kept telling me "welcome back" which I odd because I've never been there, then I tell them I have the flu, I'm told that is okay as long as it isn't covid. We'll that was a lie.. they then stripped me of all my belongings then sent me to a hospital with a fever, and sweats that they would not let me take off to cool down, and they replaced my boots w the fabric shoe covers that doctors wear. The hospital released me and I had to walk and bus w no shoes or my phones... to get back to my belongings where they had lost my clothes for 2 hours. They pretty much say if you're suicidal and have the flu, then youre on your own because we rather you die than people start coughing... which is unfathomable because there's a shelter in sanford on 13th street that kept me 3 weeks passed my exit date because I had covid. They simply don't give damn.Go to central florida behavioral... they are soooo much nicer and actually seem to enjoy their job and care about you.

Actually listen to everyone else. This place is TERRIBLE. My brother has been in this hospital 3 times and all those 3 times he has never been treated properly a single time. They even released him even though he has not been treated all the way. What kind of place does this? Honestly shouldn’t even exist. Bad is such an understatement.

Go anywhere else. This place is horrible. They cancel your appointments last minute, 1 hour before, and then want to reschedule for a month after. They are a joke and should be shut down. Save time and mental health by going somewhere else.

My name is Edmond Leidesdorf. Our daughter was taken to this facility. It’s the absolute worst of the worst. We called repeatedly, left a few messages when able to, and no one would call back. Other times when we spoke to someone they hung up on us or passed us off to a recording. They discharged her without telling us. We don’t live nearby. Our daughter has no money, no place to live, no phone, nothing. Do NOT go to this facility!!!!

Sadly, it’s been a horrible place for years. I was there 15 years ago when it was called Lakeside. As someone who has dealt with mental health issues since I was a kid, go to Central Florida Behavioral. By Sea World. It’s a better environment and the food is A+. I really hope they stop recommending this place and shut it down.

As a British citizen I was in SHOCK when I was thrown into this place while being on holiday. Never have I EVER in my life experienced such hell. Are all American units like this!? God I hope not. The uk psychiatric wards are like the ritz compared to this!? First I was forced to stay in a room with a woman with severe Schizophrenia who was shouting and swearing she wanted to kill me and generally just scaring the living daylights out of me I had a mattress no pillow, cover or douvet and it was DISGUSTING. When awaking after well no sleep we were all forced into one room- men and women and locked out of our rooms completely. There was one tv on for us all to watch. No other sort of entertainment or anything that I could think that would help someone struggling- music/books/art/yoga/mindfulness etc. I was in some sort of prisoners uniform. We were fed burgers for breakfast and lunch that I couldn’t even think about eating. Staff were loud and verbally abusive. I have never been so terrified of anywhere in my life. So many people who shouldn’t have been locked in there mixed with well the clinically insane. I heard constant screams from another floor and was told people were chained to walls up there. Jesus I would rather DIE then ever step foot in there again. I waited what seemed a lifetime to speak to anyone and thank god thank god they realised I really shouldn’t have been there when they eventually discharged me. Having not even been there 24 hours I thank god for getting me out of there. There is no way in HELL this place would allowed to be open in the uk. And god I felt sorry for all those people cooped up In there with nothing but empty walls to stare at. This place is just wrong- so wrong. I feel like suing the place for the trauma it caused i stil have nightmares about it years later.

Referred through Truehealth for adult outpatient therapy. Quiet and clean environment. Intake process is respectful, thorough, and informative. Telehealth services are offered. Fantastic sliding fee scale and low-income/underinsured resources/services offered. Lots of options for people looking to manage complex trauma.

This place is an absolute joke. I broufgt my son here fur an assessment and to receive medication. They do not take appointment they tell you to walk in three days a week but only accept 6 individual people before you wait for hours to be turned away. There are patients taking buses to get here at 3 am with still no guarantee to receive meds. I am sitting in the waiting room right now and have been since 6 am it is now 9 am. There are patients crying and fighting just to still not receive there medicine. I have reported this facility to chanel 9 news. Someone has to do something ASAP

This place needs to be investigated. I will be reaching out to the senator and states attorney general regarding their unethical and inhumane practices. My mom was let out mentally unstable without a phone, ID and her other belongings were not given to her. Thankfully a very kind gentleman took time to call me on her behalf or she would’ve been on the streets. I confirmed that she had them when she came in ( confirmed by M) and now nobody can tell us where they are. The case managers or discharge coordinators are clueless and one hand does not know what the next is doing here.

Read the reviews. This is a punitive facility. I feel terribly sorry for people in real need of care who may end up in this "institution". There are few in the staff with any humanity. These must be the newcomers who haven't yet been worn down to a pathetic bureaucratic numbskull paper pusher, or emboldened as a sadistic tyrant. Most of the staff fall into these two categories. The facility itself, well there are no cameras allowed inside, and for good reason. It is a hellscape worse than asylums depicted in the movies.
