In May, my baby Althea was diagnosed with a mammary tumor and we were referred to Animal Cancer Care Clinic. Dr. Ruddle and the whole staff were great to us. Most vets we’ve been to haven’t understood or been patient with Althea’s anxiety and the team here was so incredibly kind and patient with her it made us all feel safe and cared for. Dr. Ruddle was able to operate and remove the entire tumor and then referred us to Dr. Sones for oncology.
Dr. Sones was so good to us. He answered every question I had, took the time to explain every treatment option, and talked us through this incredibly difficult time. He was a great support and incredibly knowledgeable. It’s obvious everyone here cares very deeply about their patients. He always called me back to talk about treatment options, side effects, and any questions I had. He made sure we felt supported and understood everything that was going on.
The nurses and vet techs were incredible. Althea trusted them. They took the time to make her feel comfortable and safe. They didn’t think she was mean or reactive, they understood she was just nervous and protective of her family. No vet we’ve ever been to has been as kind or patient as the team here.
Unfortunately, we lost Althea suddenly last week. The team did everything they could to prevent this and I believe they gave her an extra 8 weeks of happiness. It’s hard. Cancer sucks. I miss her so much. I’m grateful for the team here and everyone who gave Althea their all and treated her with so much love and kindness. Thank you for trying to save my best friend. She loved all her friends at Animal Cancer Care Clinic.
My only comment is that the emergency line is only 24 hours Monday-Wednesday. Althea passed late Thursday into Friday. Once she started to decline, we called the emergency service, left a voicemail explaining her symptoms and the urgency of the situation with a number to call us back, we never got a response or call back. This was really scary because there’s no after hours support for half the week. You can’t schedule an emergency like this, a call back at least would’ve been comforting.

100% would recommend. Staff is caring, patient and honest. We took our dog here and it ended up being cheaper than his primary vet. We are so grateful.

Dr.Roof and her staff are nothing short of amazing. Let me start by saying it took me almost 6 months to write this review but I have been thinking about them everyday. When my baby Oli first got diagnosed with cancer after his first surgery at his regular vet and he couldn’t do anything else I looked up every cancer specialist in Florida and the surrounding states. When my wait time for a appointment was almost 2 months I was hurt, heartbroken, numb there were no words to describe what I felt. That was precious time I was losing from “fixing/curing” my baby. I called every week until his appointment to see if there was a opening. When we finally got in I will never forget the pain in the first appointment that dr roof told me there was no cure and it was a very aggressive cancer we had 6-12 months at best if we fought it. She was honest but Fought we did. Dr roof gave me another 18 months that I would have never had. Oli was my baby and she went through every possible chemo to fight it with us even when I wouldn’t take it wasn’t working for a answer. If you have any doubt in your mind about cost please let me tell you it was not cheap but it was worth every penny. That is honestly the most family that me and Oli ever had and they loved him until the end and I wouldn’t trade them for the world. They were such a blessing to us his last 2 years, I could never be more grateful for everyone in that office. They are all angels and truly care about what they do

About a year and a half ago my sweet boy had his toe amputated, when it came back as positive for cancer I immediately called to make an appointment here, they couldn’t get me in for over a month but ok. Once I got here my boy and I saw Dr. Wood. She came off as professional and kind. She explained he had an extremely aggressive type of cancer and we would loose him quickly without immediate action. I wondered if it was this aggressive why did it take over a month to get him in? We did EVERYTHING they suggested and his first appointment was around 3k. The next appointment my fiancé came with us and was asking Dr. Wood some questions and she was very rude with her responses. He was trying to understand where our dog was at with his health and she asked”so you basically want a whole new consult?” He then asked if she could just hit the high notes and what would the treatment do in terms of longevity and she accused him of only being there to argue. Completely inappropriate and unexpected as we were both just genuinely worried about our dog. We then decided we couldn’t afford the chemo that was 500$ every 2 weeks and we would only be able to do the other portion of the recommended treatment. After saying we couldn’t afford it Dr. Wood then informed me that having the chemo compounded was a cheaper option and she did this for her pets. The cost went from 87$ a pill to 7$ a pill. This was not an option when I was willing to max out my credit card to pay for his treatment. She should have given me ALL of my options and not waited for me to run out of funds to pay for treatment. We spent around 10 thousand dollars and our boy passed away a few weeks ago. I do not blame them, cancer sucks and is so devastating. This was my experience and I wished I would have known all of my options from the beginning. Regardless of the about of money we spent here, being treated the way my fiancé was treated is unacceptable. The staff is very friendly, the other doctors we saw were kind. Be careful with Dr.
Wood.
