My fur baby’s very first visit was so disappointing, he didn’t smell clean and fresh as if he’d had a bath. When he gets a bath at home he smells way better. “No TLC” at poochie’s!! His hair cut was jacked up and botched a few nicks and patches. Way too much hair was cut from between his eyes. (Nearly bald) I showed Michelle (groomer) a picture of how I didn’t want my fur baby to look and she performed exactly what was asked NOT to be done. He also reaped of urine when picked up and all four of his paws were soaked. When asked if he had urine on his paws I was told NO that the floor had just been mopped and he walked through it. She did offer to dry them after the issue was brought to her attention. The entire ride home he reaped of urine and appeared to be exhausted; I don’t appreciate the careless treatment he received as a first time customer. However the facility was nice and well kept just not my puppy, he was super thirsty upon pick up after being there for over 7 hours. So disappointing and such a let down!! Let’s just say his very first haircut is hideous and he was almost unrecognizable.

Sadly, I must edit my review. I originally had a very positive experience with Poochie's Park, but that turned out to be a facade. Apparently, the staff encountered a behavior issue with my dog that has not been an issue elsewhere. Rather than communicate the issue when it was first observed so that it could be fixed, they waited six months before casually threatening to potentially no longer allow my dog to go to Poochie's Park for boarding or daycare. This lack of communication makes it impossible to fix issues when you are not told when they are occurring. The facility is great, and my dog always comes home tired, but not being told about an issue until six months later is unacceptable. It does not excuse any behaviors from my dog, but you cannot fix anything that you do not know about.Original Review: I recently boarded my dog at Poochie's Park and had an absolutely wonderful experience. My Daily Postcard from camp showed that Kenobi was having an amazing time. When I picked him up, he came home and promptly took a nap. Poochie's Park actually managed to tire out my high-energy dog. Poochie's Park has plenty of outdoor play space and they truly let the dogs play in appropriate sized groups. You can even watch the dogs play on the webcams. The staff were super friendly for every interaction and I felt good leaving my fur baby there.

Always a great place to bring my dogs, big and small. I like that they have a small dog area for the smaller family members I have so I don't have to worry about our little kind getting ran over by larger dogs. And for our bigger dog, he can get the socialization he desperately desires when I can't keep up with his zoomies.

I never heard of a dog park you have to pay to go into and they were closed at 5 PM on a Saturday

Poochies is a great dog park with a treated lake and a large field to run your pups. Staff is friendly and helpful. They have great facilities that are well maintained. Certainly one of the best dog parks in the greater Jacksonville area.

All dogs love going to Poochies! Our bulldog Ten bears is on a raw food diet and likes his bone marrows to chew on during the day. The kind folks at Poochies were happy to accommodate and it looks like he didn't want to leave when we picked him up.

I had a terrible customer service experience on 2/20/24 with the manager at Poochies, Taylor. Apparently, when I added my 3rd dog to my account back in August 2023 (I have the email to prove and sent to the office staff to reference) the office didn't set up to bill me for my 3rd dog. The manager, Taylor, came up to me while I was walking with my daughter to accuse me of trying to sneak in my dog without paying. The cost for the 3rd dog on an account is a minimal fee, I believe $5-$10 a month added to the membership so its a minor amount and I did not notice it wasnt being taken out because its such a small fee. Taylor was very rude and accusatory as if I was trying to be sneaky. Clearly, the office staff added the 3rd dogbecause he was listed in their system, they just never added the amount to my billing cycle which is an error on there part. I never received an email or call about this situation, this was the first I had heard about it as well. Mind you, I have boarded the dogs and been in the office since August and it was never mentioned. The manager started saying the "owner" knows about me sneaking in and made it sound like I was intentionally doing so. I was so upset to be accused of this and sent an email proving I did the right thing and have not heard back.Taylor "froze" my account because I proceeded to tell her I was going to leave and walk out of the park from the smaller dog part area of the park so my dogs didn't get wet in the pond area, something many people do to prevent their dogs from getting wet and dirty as parking near the other entrance fills up because of employees parking there. The manager was laughing at me and acting like anything I said was a lie or didn't matter. I tried to do the right thing, the office made the error yet they want to approach people and make them feel uncomfortable and embarrassed, thats very humiliating. In addition, some of the other staff here (maintenance crew) are very gossipy and should be told to reel that in, this is a business not a place to gossip with members. I want to walk my dogs and leave, it's a great spot and would be a good experience if not for the staff as mentioned.

I posted a negative review on some things that I found concerning when I picked up my dogs from 10 days of boarding at the beginning of November 2021.The owner emailed me and we conversed. He had an "explanation" for everything, on why my dogs urinated twice (and a lot) immediately after my 9am pickup when I took them outside, on why my dogs where hungry when they got home that morning when they usually eat in the late afternoon/ evening time, for the transactional "pay then you'll get your dogs" attitude that seemed to me from the front counter staff that morning. And, my one of my dogs were coughing the day I picked him up. Poochies never told me, like hey "we noticed one of your dogs coughing", where are the attentive staff members??I really appreciate the owner contacting me, but he just gave me a damn excuse or "explanation" for each of my concerns--there were a couple more. I would have liked some kind of remedy, like taking ownership and offering a real apology, from him instead he just covered for his staff. I've decided not to bring my dogs back to Pooches. It was great when the first few years after they first opened up, but now that it's becoming larger, like most places, it slowly starts to lack. This isn't to discourage anyone. Your experience may be better than mine.
