Visited the Club Contienal over the weekend to attend a Celabtion of Lee for a fallen Brother.
Very nice grounds to ponder at. A great view of the coast line. I”d say if ya want to chill out on a nice day check it out for yourself

Love this place…. For those who value their peace and a beautiful riverfibt Location, it is perfect. It is an Italian garden with koi in the timeless courtyard. There are the usual amenities that would cost a lot more in a ‘tourist’ area and be unaffordable for most of us in a global city.
I’ve stayed in every room in the original home and have my favorites. We spent a month with my dying mother in the ada suite the last month of her life and the staff could not have been any kinder. We had a nice breakfast overlooking the river every morning. We had the other meals delivered. It’s a very popular location for weddings. From our upstairs terraces, we saw a few of them. People were always well dressed and well behaved.

The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spacious. Tonight I was a guest for a dinner that was to start at 6pm.
I along with a few other dinner guest arrived at 5:30 and decided to order a few drinks. The bar tender was very rude and did not acknowledge two of us when we asked for service.
We were ushered in for our dinner service at 6pm and at 8pm our appetizer and salads were brought out only after having to ask more than once.
There were 3 separate events happening and it seemed as though they didn’t have enough staff to manage them and our party took the hit.
The meals were delivered to the table and it was lacking in so many ways. The majority of the guests barely touched their plates. I’m completely shocked at what I observed tonight mainly by the staff as they shushed a few of us due to their members being in the shared room and a few of our tables were engaged in conversations.

Everything about this place is amazing until you try to go to the restaurant to eat. They have a dress code and have no problem telling you about it when you walk in the door. I had planned on coming back here but after this fiasco I most likely not return. Hope your members enjoy that empty dining room Dale.

I didn't stay at the hotel. We had a family memorial service here recently on very short notice. The staff was very friendly and efficient. I didn't walk around the property much but what I did see was beautiful. Looks like a great place for a reception or wedding or just to get away and relax for a bit.

Rooms: The rooms are all very nice and comfortable
Nearby activities: The surrounding area is very sketchy at best. Just don't
Safety: The club itself is very safe but the immediate area surrounding it is not
Walkability: No because of safety concerns
Food and drinks: They have a great restaurant there, but unless you are a club member they don't want to serve you so you are forced to drive out into the hood of Orange park to forage for something to eat. This was a very unpleasant experience for me. I won't be back.

This is my home away from home. This place should be on the National Register as the best hidden gem of hotel stay…..Walkability: Has a trail along side the St John River

Loved the experience! Only stayed one night. Friendly check in process with room available right away. Spacious rooms were a bit dated but right on the river. Beautiful courtyard and other interesting buildings & decor on the grounds. We didn’t pack fancy enough to eat at the clubhouse for dinner so we ordered from a local restaurant and had the food delivered to The River House Pub nextdoor/on the grounds. RHP is a bar only - no food - lively spot that we really enjoyed. It was Halloween weekend and the regulars were in costume. It was a lot of fun!
