We saw the manatees. They come in the winter months to keep warm. This is a small park and it can get crowded. We only had to wait 30 minutes to pay the $6 entry fee but the ranger says they can be backed up for an hour or more. However everything is well organized and there are rangers to help you park and to answer questions. There is a gift shop and a place for hot food. The kid can play on a large play structure and you can explore a period estate from each the pioneer days. This is also the launching piont for boat rentals and tours. In the summer months there is swimming and snorkeling but when the manatees are here.

Best place for water activities down the spring run! We visited today when the manatee count was up to 141! Perfect day to visit.

This is my favorite state park!! During manatee season (winter) it brings the greatest joy to see these floaty potatoes enjoying themselves in the crystal clear spring water. You cannot swim in the spring during manatee season. Can't guarantee a lot of manatees every time you go, but i have been a few times during manatee season and have always been able to see at least a few. Over the years, it has become more and more popular and my most recent visit in November 2023 was the most crowded it has been! No issues with parking or anything though- not crowded enough to be a deterrent! You can walk along the boardwalk of the whole spring and spot manatees at the different viewing points. There is also a tiny trial at the end (barely a hike) which brings you to the end of the spring which is a really pretty alcove. Entrance to the park is a reasonable price of $6 a car (I think it is cheaper if you go solo). The park has a gift shop with cute merch, and a small mini mart/ deli if you get hungry with simple convenience foods. There are public toilets as well. Highly recommend this unique spot, especially if you have never seen a real live manatee before in the wild! Protect the precious manatees!

The one old lady Angie I think it is, was extremely rude giving attitude to me and people in line ahead of me.

Blue Spring was a nice discovery!Outside of Orlando, near DeLand FL, Blue Spring SP is a beautiful Florida oasis. Come early as they only allow as many cars in as they have parking spaces (makes sense, huh?). This keeps the park at a reasonable crowd level, but if your group isn't all in the same car, you might get separated,The park is clean and well kept. There is a souvenir shop (tubes for floating can be rented) and a snack bar for lunch with reasonable prices.Picnic shelters are limited, so bring a shade tent, chairs & tables if you're planning to eat lunch. Get to know your neighbors, cuz space will get tight. The spring flows into a river and manatees can be present. Tube rides take about 30 minutes between launch & exit spots. The spring is well suited for snorkeling

A nice little store with souvenir type things. Prices are a little high just like any other touristy-like place.

An honest review is needed here. Where all the others tell you this place is great, and it certainly can be, some facts should be clear and spelled out upfront. - there are two water entry points (upper and lower) where all the floaters enter and eventually exit. This is a bit chaotic with large tubes and inconsiderate ppl. Watch your small kids. - the water is cold. 72* Thats chilly ppl. You get used to it. Be prepared for the initial shock.- it ain't "shallow" as others will tell you. I'm 6' and was on tippy toes 80% of time. My wife and two kids struggled. Shallower (3-4' areas) existed on opposite side of river but you have to swim/float to them. Watch your small kids.- It's a slow river so there is a current. If you or your children are weaker swimmers, get a life jacket. Floats are great....til you fall out. NO LIFEGUARDS on DUTY/Swim at your own risk. Watch your small kids- beware the barrage of tubers. Watch your small kids.I say all this because none of this is mentioned on the Florida State website for the park nor posted anywhere at the park. Guess swim at your own risk expels all liability. Had we seen this review or it's comments prior to, we would have been more prepared or chosen other options. Watch your small kids.

This is a beautiful springs, only reason I wanted to come here honestly was to see some manatees! Which didn't happen that day. This place is great for family time, relaxing and enjoying nature. Water is reasonably cool at first it feels very cold not going to lie but once you get in and you relax it's beautiful and clear! Be prepared to be here early when I say early I mean be here at 8 on the dot if possible specially in the summer time ! We arrived at 8am and there was a line already and it wasn't a line of 8 cars no about 15-18 cars lined up....we left around 10:45 and the park was already full! So the earlier the better! There is so much to do here! From kayaking, tubing down the springs, walking the trails and snorkeling.
