I really wanted to like this daycare, they have a lot of good things going on there and some great teachers and staff. However I ended up taking my son to a new daycare after a few months of being at Discover Point Suncoast. I think it’s important to write an honest review because I thought this would be a good daycare based off all the good reviews and I would have appreciated reading the critics of this daycare. First of all, my son was in front of a television constantly. And I had to tell the teachers and front desk that I did not want him watching television during the week. My son saw a minion movie and I had no idea until he told me when he got home. I don’t allow certain movies, including minions because my son will copy the characters and start hitting his friends because “it’s funny”. I would have appreciated at least a consent form. The snacks are awful, full of sugar and food dyes, the teachers would give my son ice pops and candy without my consent and he would be so hyper some days. The policies and procedures for injuries was awful. My son would have marks on him and no one would know where they came from. I only got one incidence report from about 5-6 incidences of him getting injured ( with visible marks) . One of the teachers said “ the boys just play rough sometimes “ and that was not ok with me. Boys should not be playing rough in a school setting. I let my son play rough only under my supervision and with a lot of guidance. But that should not be ok at school. Upcoming events and activities were communicated by a paper on the door and that’s it. Sometimes an email. No pictures during the day, the schedule was usually not followed. I would usually ask my son if he did such and such based on the schedule and he looked at me like he didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. He was always hungry because he didn’t get enough food . The teachers would yell at the kids sometimes, not handle conflict between the kids very well “ just tell him to stop hitting you” and would sometimes take away play outside time if they had “misbehaved” (kids this young need redirection and to be taught appropriate skills not punishment) . parental involvement was almost non existent. Only one parent event for dr Seuss week , nothing for Mother’s Day or any of the holidays. Lastly, my son was learning a letter a week and that’s about it. There’s no learning curriculum , they just explore random topics in a very random way. My son didn’t learn much and he loves to learn and is very capable of learning. This daycare is for parents who just want a place to drop off their kids , not be bothered, and kids to be babysat and to socialize with other kids. Not for parents who want to be involved and want their kids to be ready for school and for life !

Amazing teachers and staff. All four of my kids went to this school and it’s always such a happy, positive, caring and loving experience. Love love love Ms P and Ms Shriya! ♥️

We had Mrs Jodie as our son’a teacher! Thank you so much for for making my son’s pre-K fun and full of learning! This place is safe, has amazing values, and just all around amazing. As a teacher myself I recommend this for any kid!
