Mr Butler did not turn in proof of roof replacement to underwriter, Orchid. They cancelled my policy and not only did he not inform me for 6 months , he kept my refund check for almost $1500.00. Dishonest with me on all counts. Beware, not an agent to trust your insurance with.

[Updated after owner response]Carey O’Donnell had some kind of chip on her shoulder. She was very condescending and when I would ask questions about certain things she would reply with "do you want to see a screenshot of my work?" With the most defensive tone, this has to be a joke surelyMoving on[UPDATE]"When Carey told you the the carrier would need a 4 point inspection given the fact the home is 74 years old, you were outraged and continued to belittle her stating that she did not know what she was talking about"Incorrect, What I was doing was explaining how other home insurance companies were able to quote me, and why some (like Kin) weren't even asking for a 4 point, in our first conversation I said I was totally ok doing a 4 point, but was just trying to learn WHY some needed it and some didn't, your agent got defensive and made comments about "how long I've been doing this" - you use words like belittle but I don't think you know what that means, there were no insults, no "I'm wrong you're right" nothing - there was no point where I said she didn't know what she was talking about, and the fact that you're typing this just proves a defensive nature"As for Carey's offer to show you the responses of the carriers, it is our standard procedure to help educate our clients. We show the client our comparative rater and let them see where the market is for their home insurance allowing them to make an informed decision."Yes but in the context of the conversation she used it as a way to defend her position instead of teach, for example when she told me progressive denied me, when I know I have a progressives quote in my inbox, when I told her "well why would they give me a quote and then tell you its denied, the response was in a defensive annoyed tone "do you want to see a screenshot of my work" - She took it as I was doubting her instead of explaining why there's a differenceSimilarly this came up when I mentioned the house was previously insured by farmers, her response was "well I thought farmers weren't covering in this state anymore" As if to outright deny concern"From the beginning of the conversation you chose to not listen to a word of what Carey had to say and only wanted to talk over her in a loud hostile and abusive tone. Whenever she had to say something to say your response was to continue to scream at her and demean her and then hang up the phone."When people talk on a speakerphone while moving they talk loud, again you use words like hostile and abusive, and scream - there was no hostility, no threating, no cursing, no demeaning, and certainly no screamingI know that 5 star reviews are important to you, but you also need to make sure you don't let your agents get complacent with their service just because you are rated "best in town" - nothing lasts forever

John's willingness to share his knowledge and experience, even when he has tight deadlines to work to is incredible. John always comes through with a fair and reasonable price! We have switched all of our insurance requirements to Butler Insurance due to their work ethic, honesty & integrity.

Sometimes it takes a village! I live in Texas, but was needing to get homeowners insurance for my 89 year old Aunt in Ocala. I called my own insurance agent in TX, and he directed me to the website for Florida independent insurance agents. He told me they would direct me to an independent agency in FL, and that to be registered with this site, the agencies had to meet certain high standards. When I called, they directed me to the Butler Insurance Group, right there in Ocala! Maci was fantastic is finding an affordable policy for my Aunt, when the couple who helps her and live in Ocala, hadn't been able to. But it doesn't stop there. There was paperwork to be signed and returned, and I was depending on her two friends to get this done in a timely manner. When that didn't happen, Maci called and texted me several times until we got it done. It's not always the case that people stay in contact, but I felt like I had a partner in Maci! I would HIGHLY recommend the Butler Insurance group for all your insurance needs!

Our commercial building had some special circumstances that presented getting insurance coverage would be difficult. However, John at Butler Insurance was able to overcome these issues and got us both liability and building structure insurance.John took care of us as though we were his best client! His office staff was extremely helpful and readily available for our many questions. In addition they were able to breakdown a pay schedule which worked very well for us!I highly recommend Butler Insurance Group, Ocala, FL, for any business or personal insurance coverage you might be looking for. This was our first experience with Butler Insurance and will absolutely use them as our 'go to' resource for all our future coverage needs!

John & Meredith Butler at Butler Insurance were exactly what I was hoping to find in an insurance company. I had been with the largest insurance company for farmers in Florida for 20 years & I hadn’t spoken to my agent on the phone for 10 minutes total in all of those years. When my tractor started on fire & melted into a lump of molten metal & shattered glass, I began to realize that I was grossly underinsured. I was referred to John by a friend & was on the phone with him for probably two hours in our first conversation. We spoke at least 10 times within the following month until we were both comfortable that every base was covered & we were both on the same page. He held my hand & walked me through every step of the process. When I didn’t understand something he took his time to explain without making me feel stupid or guilty for taking his time. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Butler Insurance Group. The policies I have with them are: personal auto, commercial auto, motorcycle, liability, homeowners insurance, rental property insurance and farm insurance and in every contract I am more thoroughly insured for a lower premium than I was previously paying. I wish everyone I do business with was this professional.

We moved from out of state and couldn’t be happier with this agency. The found us great deals on homeowners, auto and rv coverages.They would send information to anyone I asked, and with buying a new house was more than one. It is nice to speak to real people who live here, not just random person. Plan to do. All of our business with them forever.

My policy was due and I was looking for a cheaper policy with similar provisions. Mr. Butler and his staff were very helpful in guiding me to a better choice. However they also showed me why a couple hundred dollar cheaper policy would not include all the coverage I needed.

First of all, I have to say that John Butler is amazing at what he does! If you're reading this review and trying to make a decision, just know that John will take the best care of your insurance needs.I first came to him as a new business owner in desperate need of General Liability insurance and frustrated with other insurance "agents" who were unresponsive and uncaring. John was able to make things happen quickly and got us great coverage at a great price. I quickly decided to move my personal auto to a commercial policy. Again, John was able to get me great coverage, nothing more, nothing less than what we actually needed based on where we are as a business. Based on my positive experience with him, I asked him to look into our workers comp coverage. He was able to get me a better company and cut our workers comp price in half!Not only does John help you get great prices AND great coverage, his extensive knowledge and experience helps him evaluate each distinct situation for each client and offer solid and affordable solutions instead of trying to upsell you with coverage you don't need. He is very responsive and handles everything I throw at him no matter what. His invaluable service allows me to focus on my own business and leave the insurance worries to him. I was searching for better insurance rates after being a member with this particular insurance company for over 20 yrs. when I stumbled across Butler Insurance Group online. I called Lauren & she took my information and told me that I could come to the office to go over some rate quotes. After just a few minutes of research I discovered that my fees were cut in half & I even had more insurance coverage. The next day I talked with John to let him know that I will be contacting other family members for them to try his services. Already John & his staff have quoted my mom half of what she was paying as well as upgrading her coverage. Our family is grateful to have a company in our community that is looking out for me and my family. I would recommend Butler Insurance Group for its fantastic value, great customer service & substantial savings they can offer! The only thing that I regret is that I should have done this earlier..
