I was at Lippman Shelter 33 years ago! My school VP took me there when my mom kicked me out. When my mom arrived at the shelter she told the intake counselor I was a crazy, horrible, & belligerent child. I was crying because she was telling lies. I knew if I couldn’t stay there I’d have nowhere to go. The intake counselor noticed me crying & asked if she’d have any problems with me. I told her no & she approved for me to stay. She was a religious woman. She told me she felt it in her spirit that my mom wasn’t being honest. I don’t remember her name but I will forever remember her kindness. She was my angel! I moved on to group homes after that. For every person that said I’d never amount to anything due to mental illness I’d think about her kindness & encouraging words. I graduated from college and went on to have a wonderful career & family. May God bless her whether she’s in the earthly or spiritual realm! It’s amazing how ONE person can have such a profound affect on your life.

attened year ago ... terrible staff except for 2 people. we wake at 4 am every one eats cereal in the morning . we then spent hour in the van dropping off kids at different school miles appart . figths happen , and drug use is easy . i used to smoke weed out back by the corner fence.. also terrible place as there is no privacy for any kid and very diffucult to sleep as every can be awake till midnigth

This is the worst place for any child to be at. My nephew was there and the other teen tenants & staff stole his personal property!! The staff is terrible at maintaining any discipline or orderly behavior among the teenagers in this facility. Numerous occasions of violent behavior by staff and other teenagers in this facility. Biggest concern is the Violence among the teenagers here, and the THEFT of my nephew’s property (clothing, shoes, school supplies) by STAFF MEMBERS!!My nephew’s property is in the possession of the other teenagers who received the property from STAFF MEMBERS!This the worst place for any child or teen to be at placed at!! Unbelievable!!
