I wish the tellers wouldn’t yell out how much is in your account in front of other customers. Jesus that’s so rude. Should be a HIPPA for banks too!

What is the purpose of letting you open an account online if they lock it to transactions? Refused to let me make a cash DEPOSIT without a government issued ID specific to DL or passport, despite having another form of a government issued ID.

I originally opened an account at this location when they were still Suntrust due to issues with checks at my previous bank (Bank of America across the street). From the get go the employees at this location were very friendly and helpful. I unfortunately have often had to come in close to closing and they’ve always made time for me. There have even been times where they’ve stayed past close to finish up with me for which I am grateful. As a younger account holder I’ve found that unlike my previous bank they’ve treated me just like any other patron and have even sought to help me plan for future savings and investment. While I know some customers have left reviews about issues after the switch to Truist I’m happy to say that I have not encountered these. The initial switch was a bit rough because of card changes but after that everything was fine.

This branch has only gone down since they changed to Truist. They are absolutely incompetent. I am moving my accounts from them as I do not trust them with my money.

This branch is refusing to accept cash deposits. We are taking our business elsewhere.

Absolutely disgusting business practices now that Truist has taken over. After years with SunTrust as customers we are leaving immediately...within 7 days we have been charged two overdraft fees instantaneously and have yet to receive a paycheck deposit which was sent out on Friday.. it is now Tuesday which shows paycheck as "pending" for 3 business days. Worked at the same place for 3 years and now overdraft charges. You cannot get anyone on the phone after 3 hours of holding. Have been in walmart only to have to put items back because suntrust card no longer worked. Upon activating truist debit card it said we still have no access to our "pending direct deposit payments". Also made paypal transfers from my paypal account to my truist checking account and did you know TRUIST takes 3 to 5 BUSINESS days to actually credit them? I hope they go bankrupt. They bought out suntrust with all their fees. Worst bank. Do not support this business whatsoever

BB&t that was on sumptner was a beautiful well lit multiple ways to get in and out and just like cheers everybody knew your name in there. Since merging with SunTrust they decided to slum it with the SunTrust building that is falling down nobody is at the window it's only the canister banking and sadly it's in a not-so-great part of North Port. It's also way too busy. Truist you really dropped the ball on this one

Since its decline from Suntrust to Truist, I steer clear of this place and try to do online banking only. Unfortunately, their formerly great Suntrust App is now quite bad, and looks & works like it was designed by a kid. Grey letters on purple background. Custom account names were taken out. If you have to manage several accounts, and don't remember account numbers and balances from the top of your head, you can now wonder which account is which. Account-to-account transfer function (essential for home banking) does not work either. Says: No eligible accounts to transfer.

My company is with BB&T now Truist. My branch moved to this Suntrust now Truist and so far NOT SO GOOD. I just called twice with no answer, the first time was disconnected. I have a feeling the open and personalized care we are used has disappeared. Thanks Suntrust now Truist.

Poorly trained staff. My husband came to make a CASH credit card payment and was turned away because he didn't have my ID. Since when do you need ID when GIVING the bank money??? Had to go back with him and my ID just to make a simple payment. Apparently the teller also told him she could have accepted it without ID if he was paying via check. So let me get this straight- a check is more secure than cash? None of these are accurate. Have been banking here for 10 years and will be looking to switch soon. I don't know if the merger is to blame or if these are BB&Ts policies. I worked for Suntrust for 2 years. Boy has it gone downhill since I've been gone.

Please note, this review is not intended to make the often very decent employees at the bank look bad. I have been with Suntrust Bank in North Port for over 20 years, and know many of them. At this point, I still have several personal accounts with them, IRAs, and used to have a business account, too. I was always quite satisfied in the past. Not any more! After a merger, Suntrust has now become Truist. As it is the case most of the time when banks merge, customers get left behind. Somebody's got to pay the fairy-tale salaries of the big shots, right? In Truist's case, the CEO alone makes $12,8 million pa. base, plus massive benefits. Okay, that money has to come from somewhere. But please, not from my pocket! While other banks offer sign-on bonuses and free checking at the moment (examples: Chase, T-Mobile, PNC, Capital One, Wells Fargo, Axos), Truist now only offers 3 checking account types, and none of them are free ($20, $12, and $5/month), unless the account holder direct deposits over $3,000 per month. What do we get for those fees? Practically nothing!Example: The same checks Walmart prints and ships for $11,86 (see photo) now cost $35.95 through Truist (see photo 2). When I called the bank and ask why I don't get free checks any more, as it was standard with my old Suntrust account, they said that it had changed. When I threatened to switch banks, the woman on the phone (Karen- no kidding), just replied: "When do you want to make an appointment to close your accounts?" Problem is, I can't close my accounts right now because I have too many auto pays and deposits going in these accounts. Yet, I won't be blackmailed by a bank who doesn't want to honor their old customers any more. Hence, I definitely will close everything within the next 6 months, after I sorted all this out.
