Steer clear of this builder. I purchased a gulf star home in 2017. I've spent tens of thousands in the first 5 years of owning this home due to the greed of using sub par products and building materials. However, I've had enough, and feel others should know what they are buying with this company. This weekend alone, we spent $3200 replacing the well pump, pressure switch and pressure tank because they placed a well pump that is 1/2 HP. The well guy couldn't believe they put in less than a horsepower pump and said I was lucky to get the 6 years out of it. Additionally, if another pump is needed, I've had 2 companies tell me they will have to drill a whole new well. All of this is regardless of what I now have to pay the irrigation company for the damage the cheap well pump did to the irrigation valves by falling apart. And today we found out they used drywall for the front door ceiling. We found out by pressure washing and it absolutely falling apart. I'm scared to check my lanai ceiling and have a feeling it will also be the incorrect materials they should have used. I'm utterly disappointed. I could go on, but in conclusion, find a different builder.

Gopher Tortoises are a protected species in Florida and builders are well aware. They were caught trying to bury an active burrow instead of paying to relocate the tortoise. How many times were they not caught? How many have they buried? Shame on you Gulf Star, its my humble opinion.

Amazing Builder! As a realtor - Matt and Gulfstar is only new build I have ever had in walk through with NO BLUE TAPE! Every new build has so much blue tape where items need to be fixed in a new build- but Matt had this home perfect. No touch up needed. My buyer was very happy and the service and response from Catherine and Matt was outstanding. Highly Reccomend. Deb Scott, Realtor

The home I bought is well built, included all the upgrades like tile throughout and hurricane rated windows, and truly is designed to minimize maintenance. The final touches on the home were done with consummate attention to detail, resulting in zero blue tape wasted at walkthru.

Absolute worst Builders you will ever find. Shoddy construction everywhere. Stucco falls apart cabinets Fall Apart tiles coming up. Less than one year in the home. Tracy with the warranty department tries to tell you that you damaged your home or that yard work damaged your home even though there is no yard work done near those areas of your home that are falling apart because of the horrible shoddy Construction done by gulfstar. Septic tank problems pipes were not installed correctly. Do yourself a favor and find any reputable home builder. Lots are cheap. Anyone can build you a home and I recommend you stay far far away from gulfstar because you will not be a happy camper. Overpriced garbage. They use the cheapest of all materials for everything in the home. Everything included? Yes you might have granite countertops but they will be installed horribly and incorrectly. Your tiles won't line up. Your kitchen falls apart. Do not bye and waste your hard earned money from Gulf star. Unless you enjoy garbage and garbage Quality Homes do not purchase one of these. You will regret it you will remember reading my review. I remember reading the reviews and I bought one anyway and here I am 11 months later posting this and it's nothing but truth.Service: Home building

We're very disappointed in our GulfStar home after only being in it for 18 months. The salt water softener quit working and we replaced it with a RO system. The AC unit kept leaking in the garage. Perfect Weather AC (the installer) came out 4 times, each time they said it was fixed. In February there was black mold on the outside of the air handler which was in the ceiling of the garage. Long story short, I had my AC guy (which I've know for yrs) come look at it. The inside of the air handler was full of black mold. Perfect Weather AC had been stuffing insulation inside it to absorb the moisture. It ruin the inside of the unit. GulfStar said I need to contact Rheem. The AC company ruined the unit and Rheem is not going to cover shoddy workmanship. I believe it's called passing the buck! We had a whole new AC unit installed. GulfStar says it's our responsibility not theirs. Also, the hot water quit working. My husband and I are retired and we bought a new home thinking we wouldn't have to worry about any major repairs... $20,000 later.... Boy were we wrong!!!!! So in my opinion....DON'T BUY A HOME FROM GULFSTAR. There are lots of other builders in North Port to choose from!Service: Home building

Best house I've ever lived in. It's built like a fortress, and everything's included. Sprinkler system, granite counter tops, tile floors, 150 mph wind resistant windows. It's all included in one price. And the price is cheap for everything these houses come with. And last, but not least, it passed the hurricane test. With flying colors. Hurricane Ian didn't touch this house, because it's a fortress. You want a hurricane proof house? Buy a GulfStar.
