Perhaps Tire Kingdom is a really great and caring place that truly cares about their customers or maybe this place tried to get one over on me thinking that I’d be an easy target. You decide. Check the video I have shared, did my break job look wrong to you? Should I have let them replace my rotors? Look at the remarks the service advisor added to my invoice.
I came in for a battery, and tires for my 2011 Jeep Liberty. I agreed to pay for the new battery, 4 new tires, 3 years road hazard warranty, balance and alignment and service time with tax $1350.00. They called me 30 minutes after I dropped off the jeep and told me that they could not do the alignment unless they changed the inner and outer tie rods because they were rusty. I agreed that they could change the tie rods, another $ Also at this point they decided that they needed me to pay for an extra hour of service time as well, another $150.00.
Ninety (90) minutes after I brought in my jeep they told me that whoever did my breaks put on the wrong parts and that I should call them to get my money back and that the technicians here could put on the right parts, “because it’s very dangerous for me.”
I told them that I want them to just proceed with the original work. The technician said, “Well I just don’t want you to get burned by anyone.”
At this point I decided to walk to the Taco Bell parking lot and really watch them because of the claims that the breaks were done with wrong parts and because they needed to add an hour to their service time.
As I was walking out of the waiting room to go to the Taco BelI parking lot to watch the progress, I was listening to and watching five employees standing in the lobby discussing the small team of mechanics they have and how slow they are, “except the technician that’s contributing to the conversation of course.”
I stood in the rain in the Taco Bell parking lot watching my vehicle that nobody was working on, while 7 of the employees were either sitting around talking, leaning against tables doing nothing or outside at the side of the building, (hiding?) on the phone.
No one was even working on the Subaru oil change that they quoted would take an hour. We were the only two vehicles there at that specific time.
Currently, I’ve been here almost four hours and they aren’t even close to done, my vehicle still has old tie rods on it.
I talked to the Service Advisor guy about the efficiency of their employees. I explained that I watched everyone doing no work on my vehicle for more than an hour. He said that was because they were waiting on parts. I asked him if that was truly the best use of time since there was only one other vehicle in a bay at that time. I suggested that the technician should have been working to remove the tie rods while waiting on the parts to arrive. I asked him why do no work at all while waiting for parts to arrive? He went to talk to the technician and found out that they don’t even have the correct tools to remove my tie rods, he claimed that the technician tried everything they have available that might have worked.
They stated hustling to get the right tools and to get the job done. Tire Kingdom employees do not work efficiently and they failed to communicate about to make sure work would be completed on time, until I asked them what was going on that they didn’t have my vehicle finished in three and a half hours like they quoted the second time they gave me a quote. Now I am fearful of the work that they complete. Will they do it correctly?
I have been sitting here since 10:50AM, it’s 4:54PM and I finally have my vehicle completed. They gave me a discount on my invoice which helped ease the sting of their mismanaged time, but six hours was way too long to wait. The Service manager has really good customer communication skills, just doesn’t have a handle on the employees.
