I took my 40 horse Yamaha to Scotty's to rebuild the carburetors and replace the seals in the lower unit. They had it for over a month, they said waiting for parts. When I got it back and paid them $900 I tried to go out but it wouldn't start. I took it back in, they had it for 3 weeks, charged me $900, brought it home and it wouldn't start. I took it back in, they said it was a bad fuel line, charged me $150, I took it out yesterday and the throttle linkage is broken and it wouldn't do anything but idle. Long story short, apparently they have no idea what they're doing. But they sure know how to charge for it. I dealt with Scotty's for decades. I'll never go back there now. I'm in almost $2,500 and still can't use my boat. You can bet I'm taking it somewhere else to get it fixed.
