Alzheimer’s group had a tour today, WOW! Amazing place doing life changing work around the world. Teaching how to grow crops, how to purify water, how to get the most of the resources available. Having a farming background I was impressed with unique methods to get the best yield and nutrition from all plants and trees. We can learn a lot in our lives from a visit. Fascinating experience!

Now. This place is very relaxing and beautiful! They have a lot of plants and I got really excited because they were some that I had been looking for so I was happy to see them.. I took the tour and I thought we could eat some of the fruits and plants not sure if I had read that on the website or was told that would be the case. There were so many star fruits that were ripe and fell off the tree.. so a few of us picked from the trees, there were trees all over. Some people never saw the fruit on a tree so wasn’t sure what it was. The tour guide she had us sample a few leaves but when we ate the star fruit she said not to pick them because they are sold in the farmers market. Like lady do you see how much is on the ground? Why aren’t they being harvested everyday? These things will fall and rot really fast.. (but then again they are the experts). That just really annoyed me, but it’s a great place to visit. They had a few fruits that you could purchase but if they would sell most of their produce, I would definitely do my grocery shopping there. The people are really nice otherwise, just be clear about the rules. I bought quite a bit of plants. I am still searching for the shampoo ginger plant, (they had it on the farm but they don’t have it for sale), nutmeg tree and the Kama sutra mint/ Jamaican stick mint. You should check it out with your family. Just be careful we saw a huge black and red snake( didn’t know if it was poisonous), but they have ducks, chickens and pigs on the farm. I have videos so I am unable to post it here.

This was a wonderful experience. I am still processing it. We signed up for the tour not fully knowing what to expect. It is an amazing organization that makes an impact globally with inovative, micro level, farming techniques for different regions of the world. Dennis, our tour guide, had a thorough knowledge of the vast plants and techniques being used. He was very interesting. It is very heart warming and satisfying to see an organization like this put forth the effort it does to help solve a global fundamental problem.

We did the vegetation tour and it was very neat. Our guide was very informative and we learned a lot about the different nutritional value of all kinds of plants, fruits, and vegetables we had never heard of. Seems like a great organization.

A great place to visit if you love nature and farming. This place offers an hour and half tour around the place and proves education about sustainability and various ways of farming in different parts of the world and their climates. This is a nonprofit organization which provides education not just locally but, around the world (mainly in disadvantaged parts). Their goal is to provide knowledge about sustainable farming, so small communities can become independent by growing their own crops. It was very interesting to see and taste various plants which may be new to some individuals. During the tour they offer water to drink, which was very thoughtful. They also have a small gift shop inside the building, and a nursery where you can buy some plants. As I was told donations are welcome as this is their way to operate and do great deeds.

I cannot say enough great things about Echo Farm. I had an outstanding experience on both the farm tour and the technology tour. I feel like most people just take the farm tour but the technology tour is fascinating and probably the tour I favored. This charity is such an inspiration for providing sustainable farming, clean water, and other habitat resources. I think the tours are a day and a few dollars well spent. The tour guides were both awesome, funny, and knowledgeable. The different regions of farming are well spaced and extremely diverse. My favorite part was the variety of water wells and purification techniques, along with the hut/home building done with recycled material, and the resourcefulness of the methane gas.

I was really impressed with our visit here. We took two consecutive days to partake in two separate tours. The first day our tour consisted of the "Global Farm Tour", and the second day we participated in the The "Appropriate Technology Village Tour". Tour dates and times can be made through their website at:echonet.org/make-an-impa… The "Global Farm Tour" shows how different plants, farming techniques, and animals can be utilized to help farmers and urban gardeners in developing countries. This was very interesting and we were shown (among other things) the importance of how one could use different crops in accordance with others to benefit both. The "Appropriate Technology Village Tour" demonstrates how simple technologies can improve food, water, and shelter for millions of people. Examples are transforming sand into water filters, manure into energy, and bicycles into power tools. North Fort Myers is ECHO Florida - the hub of all operations demonstration and research farms. Three Regional Impact Centers, including West Africa, East Africa, and Southeast Asia provide training and resources to empower small-scale family farmers in these regions. Each tour was very educational, and after the second day we took advantage of the plants and trees they had for sale to purchase a few. Our guides were great and made for a very enjoyable and informative experience. The work by these dedicated volunteers and interns are most admirable and noble. In fact, this organization is the number 1 rated non-profit charity in Florida. It's a difficult thing to imagine, living here in our Country that has everything, that someone, somewhere in the world, is worried about their next meal or if they're going to have enough food and water for their family. ECHO's work has made a difference to millions of people. I highly recommend you check them out.

If you’re in SW Florida and care about the environment and how it affects us globally, then you shall add this farm to your list of “things to do” while there. Educational beyond words and eye opening. Vacationing on the beach is one thing but going off the beaten path for a couple hours to briefly educate your mind and kind soul is another. You won’t be disappointed. You may want or intend to go but make it a need. You’ll thank yourself later and then you can then think deeper of our planet earth and fellow human beings in a totally different mindset while you enjoy your much needed vacation on the beach ?. ✌️??

I thought the tour VERY too long, hot & VERY boring!! Especially if you already have some knowledge of agriculture. The information our tour guide gave us wasn't very much for me to drive 2 hours from North Miami and the guide was honest enough to tell us that she didn’t know much about how things were done exactly as well.I was expecting a more in dept tour but unfortunately didn’t get that. Sadly a guy was there from Kenya, sad he will return with nothing.I wouldn’t recommend or ever do it again honestly.

Echo has a great selection of edible plants in their nursery, their property is fun to tour and educational, and they have a great mission to get behind. I regularly find myself out there getting new plants to add to my food forest.
