Two weeks ago I had a time-sensitive issue with my male cat. I called in advance with questions & to run my cats symptoms by a staff member. She was very helpful, patient, and calmly helped me determine the probable scenarios & help me get a clearer idea on what to expect for the monetary side of things. We arrived 15-20 minutes later. The waiting room as relatively packed, but it was a Sunday so I’m assuming that’s normal. The staff was professional, kind, patient, and everything you could hope for in a heightened emotion & stress environment. It was much appreciated. They made sure to take the time to explain & answer any questions I had, in regards to the immediate testing & treatment plan. The bill was painfully high, but I think that’s to be expected for an ER situation. I’m grateful that I had just enough to cover it. I don’t think I could have risked it if I had waited another day and woke up to find my cat had painful died over night. I have owned 18 cats over my lifetime, & cared for several TNR cats, and I am lucky for this to be our first vet emergency. I can’t imagine what it would be like for anyone who didn’t have the funds to seek emergency care.I love that they forwarded all of the records, documentation, imaging, and info over to our primary veterinary office (Crossroads). That made things so much easier when I spoke to our vet for a follow appointment.Thank you to all of the staff for being so kind and patient. And more importantly thank you for enabling us to be able to receive treatment on the weekend. We are grateful.

We took our pittie Xena to them for an emergency caesarean at 2 in the morning. They saved her life and 4 of the puppies. They were fast, efficient, knowledgeable, very kind and compassionate. We will be seeing them again in the event of any pet emergency. We drove from Pensacola to Niceville and it was completely worth the trip. They saved my baby, and her babies. When the emergency hospital in Pensacola failed her and gave her up to die. Niceville really came through and I would absolutely send anyone there. Trust them. Thank you so much for saving my Xena. Jessica and Andy were awesome!!

Unfortunately I had a bad experience at Niceville clinic. Although the support staff was very friendly and efficient; my dog was misdiagnosed. Not sure if the vet ever physically examined him or just took x-rays because he was referred to as a girl several times. Thank goodness I had the presence of mind to return thee 400 miles home and use our emergency vet. It is hard to determine what kind of care your animal will receive when you are away from home.

This place is a money hungry, heartless veterinarian office. Do not take your pets here... I took my puppy here to hope they would help. He woke up not eating, vomiting.. couldn't hold his own head up.. The next day I drove here.. Hoping they could help. They tested for parvo test came back negative.. as he had all his shots. so they gave him antinausa and dewormer.. charged me 400 dollars for that.. then wanted to charge an extra 300 just to do a test to find out exactly what was making him sick.. not including the medication needed when they do find out. On the way to my car as im putting my dog in.. the vet says " be prepared " I'm confused.. prepared for what? He says " for his to pass" why would you charge me all this money knowing my dog was going to pass.. I came home and not even 3 hours he had passed.. They don't care about your pet, they only want your money.. even as your dog is dieing, they will take from you. Please go anywhere else but here.. Destin has an emergency vet.

Honestly one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at any vet.Firstly I walked in and was 100% up front about how I had a very tight budget and if it could possibly go over that I was ok with euthanasia. A very kind vet tech made a plan that was just under my budget by like $50 and I once again told her if it could possibly go above this at all I had to put my dog down because I couldn’t afford it. I was assured that it would be this price and they preceded to start sedating him for his injury. While I was waiting a very not kind tech came out and told me the first tech didn’t know what she was doing and forgot to add things which put it almost 300 over my super tight budget. Oh and my dog’s procedure was done even though they didn’t tell me these new charges so I would have to pay it even though I had made it clear I didn’t have the money. Their solution was to take his meds off instead of these extra charges I was assured wouldn’t happen. So basically only come here if you want to have an over drafted bank account and a dog crying in pain while having a high risk of infection.

I took my two injured dogs to this place because my other dog attacked them. I live in Freeport, and every vet I called to see if they could treat my dogs told me there were only two places that could help – this one (which was closer) and another in Fort Walton called OnPoint Veterinary Urgent Care. Based on distance, I chose the one in Niceville. When I arrived with my two dogs, all they did was weigh them. The doctor asked what had happened, and I explained the story three times – once to the front desk lady, who I must say was very kind and efficient. Then to the vet assistant, who, like the doctor, just glanced at the dogs. She at least touched them a bit. They didn't even take their temperature, just weighed them. Then the doctor came in without greeting, didn't touch the dogs, and left as quickly as he came. After that, the vet tech returned with an estimate of what needed to be done for the dogs, along with the prices almost 2,000.00. I was agree with the procedure but found the prices beyond my budget. When I asked if there was another solution, they gave me almost no options. So, I decided to go to the other vet, hoping for not only a solution for my dogs but also more humanity. On leaving, I had to pay $202.50 for basically nothing – just weighing them and receiving two papers with the estimated procedure costs. My advice: don't waste your time and take your pets directly to OnPoint Veterinary Urgent Care. The attention there is excellent and efficient, both the vet assistant and the doctor. They took their time examining every part of my dogs – weighing them, taking their temperature, checking all vital signs, cleaning their wounds, and providing antibiotics and painkillers. All of this cost me $400.00. I am well aware that animal health care can be costly, but I pay because I know that the well-being of my pets matters to them, not just the money.

I very much recommend this place. I actually was seen in the Destin clinic on Main Street. Very professional and caring. My cat had a bad infection from a deep bite wound on Christmas Day. We are very thankful this clinic was open. Even the billing was not out of line for emergency vet services that required sedation. Thank you Emergency Vet Clinic of Destin.
