Love going here and the Destin Location for salon services and to purchase products. I would like to say I have purchased products from another local Aveda salon and it seemed like the product was old and had been sitting on a shelf in the sun for a while. I don't have to worry about that here at Avant Garde, they never miss!

My main issue with this salon was the price. I had a trim and highlights (without toner as requested), and was quoted $130 total. When I went to pay, I was told it would be $160! Because my trim was supposed to be $55. But, I overheard another stylist telling her client that they dictated the price of haircuts. I won't be back. The stylist was sweet and did a good job, and she looked so embarrassed when they confronted her. Confronting someone like that didn't need to happen, so I won't be back.

My daughter was charged $720 for a cut and color at avant-garde in Destin!! When I called to complain, the manager was extremely rude!!! I will never return to these salons!!!Service: Haircut

I have booked my next appointment and showed up on that day. But somehow they booked me for two years later. Seriously! I called them last week to confirm the appointment since I didn’t receive any notifications, they confirmed my appointment on Tuesday which is today. I arranged my time and everything to make the appointment but now I have to figure out how I am gonna make the next one. They know how to charge your credit card if you don’t show up at the appointment even for sickness or death. How are you gonna fix this inconvenience? I need to charge you for my time. Why do you even have few girls at the reception if they can’t even book correctly. Let the hairdresser book their own schedule like the other salons with less confusion and conflicts. The management is definitely sucks!

I really wanted to like this salon as I was at an Aveda salon prior to moving to the area. However, after more than one disappointment, I gave up.About an hour before my first appt, I got a call letting me know my stylist was behind by 30-45 minutes. I adjusted and got there when she was opening up. They didn’t tell me until I was in the chair that the salon would be closing. I asked for a cut and partial balayage- the entire thing was rushed including using high heat to process. I left with an uneven cut and what turned out to be full balayage that was splotchy. The heat approach to the bleach completely damaged my hair. I called the manager the next day and she did try to make it right by getting me in with a different stylist. That stylist said it would take multiple appointments over months to completely fix it without further damaging my hair (after I spent $200+ to the first stylist) She did her best so I booked with her for a follow up.The day of that follow up, I got a call saying my stylist was behind 10-15 minutes. I had an appt after this so I showed up on time just to be sure I was there when she was free. 25 minutes went by and the stylist was still cutting the previous persons hair! I had run out of time to give without being late to my next appt so I told them I would just skip it. The woman at the desk said it shouldn’t take a full hour so I would still be out at the same time as I had wanted to be. First- there’s no way. Second- I was not about to have another rushed job done. There was no apology, no offer to re-book, no call from the stylist apologizing.As a patron, if I showed up 30+ minutes late, I would likely be forced to reschedule (for good reason). Clearly this location needs further training on scheduling and respecting the time of their clients.Save your time and money.Services: Shampoo & conditioning
