called to ask a simple question and got a very unprofessional/rude response .... Matter of fact shout out to....Wilbanks, Kinova, CJ"s pets, the Contrados, Ozzy B., Steve*s morphs, Without warning exotics etc..... Real breeders.. folks that treat their customers with respect...?... Even if you're a small fry or big dawg in the game

I bought adult medium frozen rats from Petco. The first time I purchased them, they smelled so incredibly bad, I had to throw them out. I tried again, and same, however this time the rats were covered in external lice. They had feces on them, all the way up their back. I feel so bad for the inhumane life these poor things must live. Terrible. If I could rate 0 stars, I would.

I went with this company, since it was the only place I could find that sold smaller packages. My baby snake will outgrow fuzzies before it can eat 50 of them (smallest package I could find elsewhere. The packaging was insulated and chilled with dry ice. The mice were still completely frozen after sitting on my back porch all day. I’ll definitely buy again.I wasn’t expecting dry ice. Burned my fingers picking it up before realizing what it was, but that was my fault.

My baby corn snake that I bought from here died two months after I got her from internal parasites. I don't know if this is Petco's fault or the breeder, but she was very young and a very friendly creature. She would completely reject food and when she would eat she would only lose weight. The mice would always smell and their bellies would always cut open after they thawed. I really don't recommend buying from Petco until they change the provider or the provider begins to take better care of their products and reptiles.

I called twice this morning ...both times the "secretary" said something unintelligable and then put me on hold for over 5 minutes each time... I used to deal with them years ago and even then it was a hassle trying to get someone to help....Waste of time

Whether it is gourmet rodent or petco to blame for this issue can be debated but I lost my first ball python to this company and their feeder mice. At only 4 months old (roughly 80 grams) I was told to feed my ball python an adult mouse of this brand, as that was what she had been fed while at the pet store. It took her about 75 minutes to fully swallow the mouse and within a day she was acting strange. Avoiding hides in favor of sitting outside. Having tried and failed to feed her before I was aware of how horrid the mice smelled after being taken out of the bag for thawing in water, and her enclosure began to smell identical to it. She died only 3 days after attempting to eat it, and I have since dedicated my money entirely toward independent breeders (of snakes and feeder rodents alike) and avoiding Gourmet Rodent and Petco like the plague they seem to be.

It’s not the breeders fault if a Petco snake is in poor health. Petco can’t feed them live mice due to policy so unfortunately they don’t eat in many cases until the customer feeds them a live rodent. And the complaint about the frozen rodents, well if they are thawed properly, they won’t smell bad and bloat.

Bought a ball python from petco ordered from gourmet rodents. Had horrible mite infestation and was told this is not the first second nor third time they have had snake mite issues in the past. Super disappointed, have had to spend lots on medical care for said ball as well as having to treat the rest of my reptiles in the house as a precaution. One of the many reasons not to buy from big chains.

Ordered through Petco TWICE both times the order (and the packing slip) clearly show 10 bags ordered. BOTH TIMES only got one bag. Apparently they can't read or count hope it costs them their Petco account. What a scam!!!
