This is an amazing eclectic boutique hotel. I would stay here over a Hilton any day. It feels like home, the staff is so friendly and welcoming, and a Chef personally makes breakfast for the guest each morning. Do yourself a favor and visit this property on your next trip to this area.Rooms: Spacious and clean!

This place is very nice. But I want to warn other travelers if you are light sleepers bring ear plugs. A couple next to us decided to have LOUD sex from 3-6 am. Even my white noise couldn’t drown them out. We paid a lot for this and to get such little sleep was a disappointment.

My wife and I came here for a weekend away, it is a beautiful property and a great location. Our view was of the intercoastal water way from the balcony. It happened to be the night that the Christmas boat parade was going on, which made it even more beautiful for an evening on the balcony, and of course more expensive of a stay. It was very relaxing until Sunday morning when their landscaping maintenance crew showed up at 8am when our breakfast was brought to our room. This is advertised as a bed and breakfast with the highlight being having your breakfast delivered to your room and eating it on the balcony overlooking the water. Instead, as we started eating breakfast, the gardener started mowing the lawns throughout the property, but began in front where the rooms with balcony's were. In addition, they also used their blowers which kicks up dust, etc everywhere. Needless to say, what my wife and I thought was going to be a nice breakfast with a view turned into a quick retreat to the room. We ended up leaving our stay early just to get some peace and quiet elsewhere. It ruined the bed and breakfast feel. Breakfast is supposed to be the culmination of a wonderful weekend at a bed breakfast, but our stay didn't not end up that way.I don't understand why the landscaping would not be done after an 11am checkout, or at least after their last 9am delivery time for breakfast. I am surprised that out of all mornings to have the landscaping done, they choose the morning after the highest paid night stay.

The most relaxing, peaceful stay! We love NSB and have frequented this beach for years. Each time we’ve pretty much stayed somewhere different. There are a good amount of decent places, but Black Dolphin Inn tops the charts! The house itself is a beautiful, Spanish style home with a red roof, romantic strung lights, and a view of the inter-coastal. Our room was spacious, extremely clean (I’m very particular) and had two balconies! We even saw a dolphin one afternoon. When you check in, you will receive your key, go on a tour of the Inn, and choose your next morning’s breakfast. Each day they post the three breakfast options and have you select which time you would like your meal delivered (8,8:30, or 9). Yes, they deliver it to your room! Should you want to eat in another part of the property, just let them know! The first day I chose a blueberry compote french toast with ham, fruit, a pastry and OJ. Day two I ordered a traditional breakfast with eggs, cheesy potatoes, ham, a croissant and fruit. Day three I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese bagel with a hash brown, pastry, fruit, and OJ. Wow!! They were plentiful portions, made fresh (I watched her cook!) and all pretty yum! My favorite was the bagel, by far!All in all, the bed and breakfast was so special that we wanted to spend time there beyond just going to bed and waking up in the morning. I can’t wait to go back for more time to curl up with a book on the patio or relax by the fire pit.If you’re looking for somewhere to stay that is close to downtown, a quick drive to the beach, and away from any commotion, this is your spot. It’s a retreat owned by some lovely locals that will put a smile on your face! Thank you Black Dolphin!

We loved this inn. Lovely and super helpful people who own and work here. The quality of our room was impressive and we loved the balcony in our room with view of the sea. Breakfast was a daily highlight. Highly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful place and incredible location. Came from Ocala for a birthday trip and was pleased with everything. I enjoyed the balcony to look out onto the river and the soaking tub felt great after a long day. Breakfast was served at the time I had requested which was a delicious açaí bowl with fresh berries, greek yogurt and granola. The only thing I noticed was the wifi was poor, so if you’re planning on watching a movie on a device or just trying to connect for any reason you may have trouble. Hopefully they can get that issue fixed. Black Dolphin is a very quaint and lovely space. I hope to be able to visit again sooner rather than later.

Such a great B&B!!! The staff were super friendly at check in and throughout the stay. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. Great location on the bay in a residential neighborhood. Everything is within a 15 min drive. I would stay here again for

Fantastic people, location, and rooms. This is our second stay here and it was just as fabulous as the first; highly recommend. Jennifer stayed late to greet us on our arrival and was a wonderful host throughout. Very thankful for our little staycation - a visit to the Black Dolphin was just what we needed ;)

The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. From the moment we walked in to the beautiful lobby we knew we had made the right choice. The staff is welcoming and very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. I looked forward to breakfast every morning, & enjoyed talking with the chefs working there. Our room was large, clean, and extremely comfortable. Can’t wait for out next stay at the Black Dolphin!

Everything you're looking for in a bed and breakfast: a nice location, relaxed and comfortable atmosphere, friendly service, and high quality rooms/amenities.The owners clearly take a lot of pride in their location and it shows. Breakfast was fantastic - try the churro french toast if it is available that day! We stayed on business but will absolutely return for leisure as well - was a great value/location/experience!Rooms: Modern hotel amentities but remained unique for the bed and breakfast experience, excellent amenities .

By far the BEST place my husband and I have ever stayed at! We only stayed a night (unfortunately) as we needed some place to break up the long road trip. This is truly a hidden gem! We arrived late in the evening around 8pm ish, we were greeted with such hospitality and warmth. She then showed us our room and walked us through how everything worked. She then gave us local food recommendations. It was so nice to be talked to rather then a normal hotel check in of here are your keys there is the elevator.Everything about the room- , the place and the staff was phenomenal, not to mentioned the breakfast that was brought to your room in the am!!We even got up early to watch the sunrise from the balcony. One can tell how much the owners care about their guests and the place!Highly highly recommend staying here :)

The Black Dolphin was a pleasure to stay in. Breakfast each morning was cooked to order and brought to your room at the time asked for. The owners are on site and available for requests or just to talk. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the balcony was very nice to sit and unwind on. The only thing to note is there are no elevators, and rooms can be as high as the third floor. If you have problems with stairs, maybe ask for a first floor room.
