Michelle on the front desk is so polite and so accommodating. She spent several hours hunting me down a used transmission so they could keep the costs low for me. Herb is also very friendly and very knowledgeable. Had my car worked on in late July, they had it back to me the next day after the transmission was delivered. Very fair pricing, excellent work!

2 weeks ago I came home in the evening and opened up the back door on the driver side to get a package out and I saw water on the floor of the driver side back seat. I was totally baffled because I was only out in the rain for about 10 minutes and no windows were open. I checked the trunk to see if it somehow was leaking into the back of seat floor and the trunk was dry. I was really baffled about what could be causing this. So in the morning I vacuumed the water out of the car and drove up to Herb because Herb's the man. After a couple minutes of looking the car over and checking underneath and finding nothing Herb said let me check the air conditioning drain line. So I turn the car on with the AC on high and after a couple of minutes Herb said no water was coming out of the drain line it's got to be clogged. A few minutes later Alan takes the car around the back to put it on the lift and check the drain line. I sat in the office for a little bit Herb comes in says all done. The drain line for the AC was clogged. I've been a customer of A 1 Auto for 5 years since I've been in Florida and I asked him how much it was and he says no charge. Gotta love this guy. Two things I was worried about when moving to Florida. Finding a good doctor and finding a good honest automotive repair shop and not necessarily in that order. I ended up at Herb's shop when I first moved here and bought a used car and took it to Herb to look over. First one I bought to him he said forget about it and also told me that was a lousy used car store. Herb suggested I go to Friendly Finance, which is a great place to buy a used car, down the road and I bought two cars from their lot for Herb to check out. First one he rejected the second one he said it's okay and I bought it and that car has been very very reliable with a minimal amount of repairs over the 5 years and just standard stuff. From that day on Herb has been my man. He always does just what's needed in a reasonable time at a very fair price.

Where should I start the best mechanic shop around here I was treated like family from the moment I walked in the door even though they had never met me before. Where do I start?
LONG POST, PLEASE READ TO THE END.
I'm not one that usually catches a break or as some would say "gets blessed." My car is 9 years old, hasn't needed much and what it has needed, I've usually done. Well being a little older and tired of crawling around on the ground, when my wife called and said the car was acting up, I about got sick. I tried to self diagnose the car, when I thought I knew what it was, looked what kind of work I would be looking at. Well that lead to me crawling on the ground again and I just couldn't see myself doing that. So I started looking for shops and the first thing I did was look up reviews. I liked all the good reviews on A plus 1 and decided to give it a shot. I called them and was telling them what I thought it maybe. They said well why don't you bring it in and we'll scan it (there was no check engine light on, but hill assist not working light did pop on, while headed there). I asked how much the scan would be. They replied no charge to diagnose, that right there made me wonder what their angle was. I took my car in, they took it for a drive. When they came back in they told me it had a code for fuel pressure problems. So Herb said I'm going to go with the least expensive route and if that don't fix it I'll put the old sensor back in and then we'll talk hp fuel pump. We'll the sensor arrived and wasn't the right one, it was getting late so Herb was going to put it back together and have me bring it in the next day to have the right one put in. Well it Just so happens the fuel line broke as they were putting the sensor back in. They gave me a ride home and told me they would get to it and make it right the next day. Well I was getting anxious not having a car, when Herb called me. He told me the car was almost ready, and would've been done, but when they arrived in the morning my brake lights were on. Come to find out my car had a recall (that I ignored) that was causing the brake lights to stay on and in turn making the hill assist light come on, which Herb also fixed. So short story long, I arrive to pick up my car and there was NO CHARGE! I asked why and he said for the inconvenience. I was like what inconvenience? He said since they broke the fuel line and I couldn't take my car home. I said we'll I get the fuel line but you repaired 2 other things, 1 that I brought it here for specifically. Let me at least pay you for that. He insisted that he wasn't charging me. I am so shocked that there are still great people in this world and I felt the need to write this review. I really hope you read it to the end and know that you can trust Herb to not only fix your car, but make it right and I have to believe for the right price.

I just moved over here from California and I was extremely worried to have my car serviced anywhere because I was afraid that I was going to be price gouged. I called this place because my wife's car went out and after a couple attempts to try to fix it myself I just said the hell with it I will send it in and have them check it out. Not only did they fix my car but they worked with me because they knew that I have 1 kid and a new born. I literally felt like crying because I know that they did it out of their good hearts and I'll forever be thankful for that!! This place earned my business and I will go to them for every other vehicle concerns I have. God bless this place!! ?

I recently moved from Tampa and needed a mechanic as my car had trouble starting. Michelle and the entire team are kind, courteous and honest people. They squeezed me into their busy schedule, identified and took care of my issue promptly and professionally. Honesty is hard to find and I will use them exclusively from now on.

I have been going to A+1 for probably about 10 years now. The reason I go back is because I trust Herb - he has always been honest with me. One time he told me 'I can charge you a bunch of money to fix this issue, but to be honest its not worth it... trade it in'. He doesn't do work that isn't necessary but always gives me the option and his professional opinion.Lastly - and this is the one that means the most... recently had my truck in for a big job. He took the time to really make sure the job was required, performing multiple tests, multiple times. Once he was satisfied that there was no other alternative, we did it.They did a great job but unfortunately there was a small issue that resulted. Herb took full responsibility - he and his team were very apologetic and even came to my house to get the vehicle to make the repair. Things happen, but HOW you handle these things as a small business owner is what keeps me coming back and why I trust you.Wish more people ran their business like Herb does. Thank you.
