Nice tour! We learned quite a bit of Truman history in the process. Kids would be bored, but great for history buffs like me!

Very good museum. Our guide Steve was very informative and made it very interesting. I recommend it if you love presidential history. I don't recommend it if you have small children; toddler age due to the tour not being self guided. You have to stay in a group at all times. The tour is about 30-40 mins.
Since 1890, history has left its mark on the Truman Little White House. Initially, it served as the naval station’s command headquarters during the Spanish-American War, World War I and World War II. In 1946 the historic building first served as the winter White House of President Harry S. Truman and a site for the Cold War response by later presidents. Today, the Truman Little White House is a public, living, Key West museum as well as a retreat and place of government business by our nation's leaders.
Other Information
This wood house was originally intended as officers' housing on the island's naval base, but became famous as the Little White House when Harry S. Truman used it as a base of operations for several extended stays during his presidency. The house, now a museum, is dedicated to the history that took place here: Not just Truman, but Thomas Edison and presidents Taft, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Carter, and Clinton all spent time here, and several key summits took place here as well. As you walk through the house you'll view all of the original furniture and historical elements-including Truman's famous ?The Buck Stops Here? desk sign-which have been maintained for generations. The beautiful tropical garden is surrounded by the original 1890 wrought-iron fence.
