Follow up after emergency hospital visit over the weekend. Full review of care and blood work, full caring notes taken along with vitals, full exam by the doctor. Checked out with some meds and special food. No charge for the doc and vet tech??? Really? We almost cried on the way home. Animal Wellness, we appreciate you.

My first experience with the son of lake county's belovedSR. Dr. Merritt-very positive experience (the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree). I brought my little fur baby there this morning with possible leg, hip or back injury. Where some could've taken advantage of my layperson's knowledge and ordered multiple tests, he was quite honest and thorough with his exam and diagnosis. He prescribed a mild doggie nsaid, that kept my expenses lower and health of the baby in mind too. Very pleased, and we'll be back!

Very friendly, caring office. We have two chihuahuas that are seniors, they are well taken care of here. Always a great experience.

When we moved to Mount Dora in 2021 we were anxious about finding the right vet for our older dog who had an autoimmune disease. We are SO grateful to have found Animal Wellness Center and Dr Merritt. Wonderful bedside manner, the staff is so kind and easy going. Seriously the nicest place around. Facilities are clean and newer. The wait to get in for a new patient appt is worth it. Our older dog has since passed and we have a new puppy now and it's been overwhelming to have a puppy but the staff is there to listen and offer tips and help anyway they can. Also, I appreciate that Dr. Merritt is more of a less is more approach and doesn't push medications or surgeries if he doesnt think it's absolutely necessary. He saved my dad's dog from having an expensive ear hematoma surgery my dad had been quoted elsewhere and was able to heal his dog's ear with some drops and oral medication. The community is so lucky to have Animal Wellness Center and a vet like Dr. Merritt & his staff! Shout to Aja and Kimberly!

We take our dogs to this vet because they are very polite to us and our dogs as every time they go there they get excited to s÷ the Doctor and his helpers.

Dr Merritt and his staff are excellent. The facilities are clean and very well kept. The staff, from reception through Doc's assisting technicians are extremely competent and professional. I can't say enough about Dr Merritt, seeing is believing. Animal Wellness Center is a 12 on a 10 pt scale.

Very professional. The staff their are the best. We just recently had to put my 15 year old baby Misfit to sleep, and they eased my pain of losing my baby girl. They truly love animals and love what they do. I can't thank them enough.

We absolutely love Dr Merritt and Aja the receptionist WHEN she is there... but when she is not the one answering the phone they are very rude when you call the office. They also seem to be upset that we wanted to use Chewy for the meds and we have to call repeatedly to have it filled. This time they were completely rude saying she couldn't help us without coming in first....even though we are there often with our dog and cat!!! Sad to see a nice caring doctor hurt by rude staff.
