The washing machines and dryers lack a lot of maintenance and are in very poor condition.

It sufficed as a place ONLY to launder clothing. In general, a large majority of the business was filthy. The bathroom toilet was awful and there was no toilet paper. The fronts of the washing machines were extremely dirty and several did not work. While the bank of dryers on the north wall appeared new, many dryer doors would not stay closed. If you made the mistake of feeding money into the wrong dryer you had to stand there, hold it closed or keep shutting it. Thus, losing valuable time on an expensive adventure already. Other coin receivers were just taped over.
It does appear that the owners have recently started repairs by putting up newer drywall on the ceiling. However, there is a considerable lack of pride in ownership. Luckily, Lake Placid is only a few extra miles in the other direction from our campground. We are camping in the area and after a visit to this location (our worst of 4 campsite towns visited in 5 weeks) I have reconsidered purchasing a washer / dryer comboniation for our RV.

Half the machines are broken and it's not air conditioned; very freaking dirty. And for a laundromat, that's gross.
