I am from Memphis and visit our Anthropologie every few months for candles/dishes and whatever Knick knacks call to me (as they so often do at anthro!) While on vacation in September 2022, my husband, best friend and I visited this location while out shopping for the day, and I have never felt more uncomfortable in my entire life. The staff took turns ignoring us while simultaneously following us around. From the moment we walked in, it was clear they suspected us to be thieves. We were dressed what I’d consider to be in a normal way - us ladies were wearing leggings and long tops, and my husband was in shorts and a t shirt. None of us carrying big bags or purses, and we’d started collecting a few items to purchase - some candles and a few coffee mugs. After about ten minutes, I was so offended by their treatment of us that I put all my items back. My best friend purchased a candle.
For reference, we’re all white. I see this is a KNOWN ISSUE in the way the staff treats people, but maybe they’re not blatantly racist, just inherently hateful. That was the last time I’ll ever set foot in an Anthropologie and given that this is a consistent issue that this location and the company as a whole has been called out for many times over the last few years, I will celebrate when this company goes out of business, because it will be very well deserved.

Beautiful, well kept store. However if you go in and don't appear wealthy or fit their aesthetic, the girls will ignore you completely or follow you around without a word as if you're stealing ;D not the best experience when I'm trying to spend money ..guess i'll continue shopping online.

Other reviews have mentioned this, but my group was made to feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. While we shopped for earrings, a worker stood behind my sister and stared her down with her radio held up to her mouth. I’m not sure if that employee said anything to anyone about us, but the way she held eye contact with my sister once we all noticed definitely felt like an accusation, or maybe a threat. We’re visiting from out of state, we’re not used to being treated so unkindly. There’s only so much that can be done about a situation like this one, so I’ll leave my review and hope that those employees learn something different.

Used to be my favorite store, not anymore. It were 18 minutes left before closing time. There was no need to yell that the store would be closing at 7 pm. I knew it before opening that door. If you do not want to be there and nicely greet your customers, who pay you your paycheck, go home! There are plenty of other nice, smart and intelligent people who can do a better job than you!

Rude sales associates. I’ll purchase online next time.I needed a quick gift. There were 3 people ringing up huge orders, nobody behind me. One of the sales clerk’s finished and I was up next, she just walked away. I’m like, you can’t just finish ringing up the people in line before you walk into the office?? So rude. Extremely uppity vibe in that store.

Beautiful store but wish some of the employees were as ethereal as the clothing and home goods...while walking with a lovely top in my hand browsing for more to try on..my shopping daydream was rudely interrupted by a sales girl shouting at me from behind?? Barking at me if I needed a room started ...please have the decency to step before me to ask me a question!! After trying on the top another lady asked me if I liked it and I shook my head and it was snatched out of my hand so strange?? A simple "I'll take it " would be appropriate. Such a beautiful store but some ugly encounters...

This used to be my favorite store I have shopped here since it opened but my recent visit was less than stellar and the long dark curly haired store clerk was unbelievably rude.
