The lady with the tattoos and piercings was awesome! Super helpful with both cats and dogs. But the lady with the curly red hair was a complete jerk. She had an attitude with me for absolutely no reason.

Taylor was amazing helping us decide which pup would become the best addition for our other dog. We ended up deciding on Dobby and he has been with us for 3 days so far and he's adjusting beautifully! We will definitely be recommending this shelter from now on!

The ladies here were SO kind and helpful when it came to picking out my new cat. They listened to what I wanted and helped me choose. All of their pets seem to be very well taken care of and happy. I would absolutely return!

I have been a volunteer foster mom and adopted my cat from this shelter. The people here genuinely care about the well-being of all of the pets. I live 3 hours away now, but I was visiting the area and had to come by and drop off donations. Please donate and support this shelter. Picture is my cat: Mommas, she came from this shelter. My dog is 15 years old, not from a shelter.

Wonderful experience with adopting my new kitten. The process is very easy, and I love that they truly care about all the fur babies!

There was a young kitten that found refuge in my car engine compartment and was just crying away. He was skinny and alone, so I fed him and gave him attention. He was so very friendly. After 2 days of his hanging around my house crying, and constantly climbing back in to the care engine, I looked up shelters and called the Safe Animal shelter. The people there were caring and compassionate and squeezed him into their already full capacity. Now I have confidence that the kitten will get the care he needs and most likely be adopted. Thank you so much Safe Animal Shelter.

I recently adopted a kitten from Safe Animal Shelter! The staff were so friendly and sweet. The adoption process was quick and easy. Apparently our boy was dropped at their door covered in fleas and losing fur. He received treatment and spent some time in a foster home before I spotted him at SAS and fell in love! My family and I are so grateful to SAS for giving him a second lease on life with us! Thank you!

The staff was fantastic. We had been searching for a small dog for months and found a bonded couple my Mom fell in love with. They made the adoption process so easy. Always adopt.

Me and my boyfriend walked in looking for a cat/kitten, we were in the kitten room where I was literally trying to get a shy skittish kitten to warm up and come out of hiding. I had the cat where it was just starting to let me pet it and a lady comes in the room asks if we were interested in a cat, my boyfriend tells her I was trying to get the cat to warm up to me and that we have 2 kids and we wouldn't know how the kitten would react with them. Her response was well you can come back tomorrow and look at her, as if kicking us out because it was 5 minutes till closing time, my boyfriend asks oh is it closing time she says yea pretty much. It wouldn't have bothered me as much but there were still other people in there as well. I mean is your guys priority finding animals homes or getting yourself out and home at exactly 5:00? It was a very rude encounter and made me feel unwanted in the establishment.

Please adopt! The staff here is excellent and the layout of the place means you can see the personality of the animals. It also seems they have plenty of places to roam and they are not just confined to crates or small cages all the time.

Absolutely horrible people work at this facility. There are people willing to adopt these animals and they won't allow it. Yet they want to push animals your not interested in that have heart worms or other issues. They also don't keep up paper records of preventative treatment. I was literally told the person that writes it on the board is on vacation. Really! We wanted Brad. We came to see him 4 days in a row. Only to be turned down after we informed we didn't have a fence and we had outside cats. They knew we had cats day one...He would have been be an inside dog. Ms. Grace you are a horrible person and ignorant for getting my kiddos and I so excited and then turning us away.

My wife and I adopted a dog from this shelter approximately two months ago. We were informed upon adopting her that she was heartworm positive and that SAFE would be fully funding her treatment. We were also informed we would receive a call in a month for her to start her injections for the treatment. We have yet to hear anything from the shelter, even after calling multiple times and being sent to voicemail or being told we would receive a call back. Most recently, we were placed on hold and told we would receive a call back shortly and still have not received that call. I called back, we were told we would receive a call Monday, 8/14 and never received that call about the vet. I am extremely disappointed in the care our dog has received via SAFE.

I adopted a kitten from here in December 2021. I wanted a female kitten. I was given paperwork for a female cat.A month ago the cat started leaking fluid from her behind area. We called a vet and made an appt that was 2 wks away. All symptoms pointed to a failed spay which is apparently common, especially in a shelter/mass spay situation.Within a couple days we were at the emergency vet where everyone was shocked to find out we had a male with a blocked bladder. He was within minutes of rupturing, going septic and dying. $2000 later we have a cat with lifelong prescription food diet and disabilities.Had we known it was a male the vet would have seen him immediately as this is a problem specific to male cats.He also has a chip with the incorrect information. An employee told us they no longer volunteer there because of the poor and unsanitary conditions these kittens are part of.If you spend $100 to get a kitten here go to the vet immediately. Ask them to scan the chip with you there and be sure it matches the paperwork. It can be life or death for your new pet.
