Unbelievable curation of mostly European fine goods for the home. I love the owners taste which is refined, elegant and slightly shabby chic. She has always been most gracious and extremely friendly. She does keep a wary eye open for those who might shoplift or otherwise harm her beautiful store. Who can blame her? I would as well. This store would do well in NYC, LA, PARIS. MICANOPY is blessed to have Dakota!!!

I live in New York but grew up in Micanopy. Every trip home always, ALWAYS includes a trip to Dakota Mercantile. Cards, linens, the best apron I have EVER owned, plus always a fun conversation with Sharon. I don't know this Chelsea person who left the poisonous review, but I can promise you it is a tissue of lies. I have never experienced nor seen anything but welcoming, gracious, fun interactions with the owner. I'll be down again in a week, and guess where one of my first stops will be?!? Cannot wait. I'm out of Tokyo Milk cards and perfume...

While her store may seem beautiful and inviting, she is not. Also, she orders most items from Faire. Sharon the owner is mean, aggressive, attacking, insulting and less than gracious to her guest. Wait, if your rich or high class then she’s nice. I’ve been verbally attacked by her and her husband multiple times. They own the shop next to me. She complains of the smell of coffee and insults every business owner in our small town. If your so unhappy with all of us, then take yourself elsewhere. We had our festival this last weekend, she was yelling at vendors, yelling at other shop owners. It’s rude, uncalled for and not a fit with the vibe of this town. I wouldn’t normally do this to another owner, I’m sick of her attacks. She scares me. She is angry, mean and can be violent. Don’t support a business that is all about herself. She gives nothing to our community but grief.Peace

What an incredible little jewel box of a store located off the beaten trail. Well curated, luscious scents and collectibles to make your home more beautiful. I’ve lived all over the United States and this shop could equal stores in San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. I love visiting here and shopping the entire store! Well done and brava to the Owner!

Classy. Classy. Classy. In league with my favorite tastemaker's shops in New Orleans. Absolutely hits the right note of comfort and luxury. The owner sells my favorite line of high end white cotton nightgowns and sprinkles whimsy throughly without getting heavy handed. The price points are accessible. Featured in Southern Living and Victoria. The owner has many unique designs. Stationary, fine soap, luxury children's items, bits of vintage and live birds in a beautiful large cage perched on a high shelf. Perfection.
