I never thought I'd be a reviewing a super market but here I am. I will be deducting a star for every personal experience I have with this place. ---- Tonight, while shopping I noticed a security guard hovering around me but that's their job so it is what it is. Well, a moment later while I was standing at the produce looking at peppers, I began to feel uncomfortable like I am being watched. So I turned around and there is the security guard peeping from a corner of a shelf, just steering at me so after a few seconds of awkward steering at each other he walked off. Being the only black person in the supermarket at the time, definitely made me feel targeted but honestly what was I going to do? Steal a pepper, potato or broccoli? That was so creepy, never had someone creep on me like that but we'll see what happens next.

Love this market in the 305 to pick up our favorite turon candy. They have plenty of great Cuban themed foods and friendly helpful service at checkout. The store was clean and well organized.

We found everything we needed to stock up on for our short stay and the employees seemed really upbeat. Nice vibe. The best part was the two take-away meals we bought for our dinner. We were too tired to go out, so we grabbed a couple take-away meals. I think each one was 7.99. Mine was pork ribs, casava, and rice & beans. My husband's picked pulled pork with rice & beans. Everything was delicious. My platter lasted me two meals.

They had everything we needed and the prices were extremely reasonable. We bought a bag of red potatoes for $.99 for 4 pounds. I also bought lotto tickets.

I needed to buy some essentials for a project for a property I was working on so I made a quick stop in the area. I always end up grabbing extra rolls of paper towel when I get off at a grocery and luckily they had plenty of inexpensive options. The store is kind of hectic though. Just to secure a parking spot was pretty intense. Once I had my items and made my way to the line, the long wait was probably what sucked the life out of me that afternoon. Sure, I saved some bucks but the lack of variety and fresher options make this place questionable fir anything less than non-perishable items. They do have plenty of Hispanic brands which helps with plenty of recetas. It really depends what you're shopping for. This area can get congested but knowing how to maneuver around the store definitely helps.

TL;DR: Terrible (TERRIBLE) customer service and treatment, only 1 person speaks English. ---------------------------------- Story time (this happened a long time ago): I went to fund my EasyPass card and I was waiting behind a customer at the alternate cashier (where they sell lotto tickets and cigarettes). As I'm waiting for the cashier to finish with the customer, other customers get in line, BUT, they get to the side of the customer in front of me. I didn't think nothing of it because the area is pretty cramped. After 10 MINUTES (yes, 10 minutes for one customer), she finally finishes, and then the customer "behind me" (to the side) steps in and she begins serving that customer. So I tell the Cashier (in Spanish), "Excuse me, but I was here before her." She replies, "You weren't in line." To my shock, I respond, "Did you not see me standing here for 10 minutes and think to say anything?" She replies, "The line starts here, you'll have to go back." I respond, "But there's no sign making mention of this line. And besides, it's not normal for lines to begin by standing to the side of the person "in front" of you. Around this time, this old security guard walks in and asks what's the problem. I kindly explain that I've been here for over 10 minutes, she's seen me standing there, doesn't say anything, and then she refuses to make things right by serving me first. Naturally, the security guard sides with her, tries to get tough with me and starts getting an attitude, so I finally snap and tell him that I don't know what country he came from, but in America, we don't treat customer like trash. I'm Cuban, for what it's worth. At this point, he was threatening to kick me out, which, too bad for him, I had no plans of sticking around. I ended up going to another Sedano's (they have a monopoly on EasyPass) and funding my EasyCard. Afterwards, I wrote a letter to Sedano's through their website, but never heard back from them (amazing that they didn't think this was important). About a year later, I went back, and never saw that security guard or the cashier. I don't know if they were fired or not (probably not, considering they were allowed to work there in the first place), but I'll never forget that experience. Lastly, you should know how to speak Spanish, because no employee (other than the manager) knows how to speak English.

I went there yesterday around 4pm. There was an older woman with blondish short hair working the cash register. Since she didn't have any customers (and her light was on) I asked her if she was open. The line that I was standing in next to her was moving slowly. She just ignored me. I asked her again, she ignored me... I tried to complain to the "manager", but he didn't speak English. If you are an English speaker than don't expect to be able to effectively communicate with anyone there. Also, expect rude "customer service". I'd give one star if I could.

RUDE! People in register are super slow and cafeteria ladies are rude. They don't want to assist the younger crowd. I was in what they consider a line and as I approached the register, I overheard them ask, "how can I help you"? When it was my turn, the lady said who's next? Typical Cuban attitude. If you remotely look American please do not go there. They're racist and rude!!

I have been looking for a particular product that I used to buy at Publix but they no longer carry it. I called the distributor and they said that Sedano's may have it. I called this store and, because I didn't speak spanish, they hung up on me. I then called the store at 1263 W Flagler St and got the same result - I was hung up on. Not ready to give up I called the store at 14655 SW 56th St, the store at 16255 SW 88th St, and the store at 9688 SW 24th St. The result was either being hung up on because I only spoke English, or I was put on indefinite hold - no one ever came back to the phone to help me. It's a shame when bad customer service is driven by prejudice and discrimination. I would think that my money is as good and spends as easily as anyone who speaks any language. I love latin food but will never again set foot in any Sedano's. I treat people with courtesy and repect and expect no less from anyone else, especially from the establishments where I choose to spend my hard earned dollars. Sedano's has become a very large and successful enterprise over the years but apparently has grown so large that they feel they no longer have to adhere to the basics. It is the customers that drive a company's long term success. Treating customers poorly is not the recipe for continued growth and prosperity. Shame on you. I would challenge anyone, including the owners of Sedano's, to conduct their own experiment and repeat the exercise I went through on the phone. I sincerely hope that you don't experience the horrible customer service I received. Sedano's, good luk and GOODBYE.

This Sedano's has the worst customer service. They do not help the customers and accused the customer of lying. There was a problem with the transaction where a $20 was given but the cashier thought it was a $10. Even with a security guard overlooking at the transaction, they did not stop to help fix the dispute but made me waste my time while they checked the cameras. Both constantly told the manager that I gave a $10 bill but claimed to have turned in a $20. They did not try to help the customer but instead kept saying that I was lying. After they realized that the resolution in the camera will not be able to identify the bill, they finally decided to close the register and count the money. After a long time waiting and talking rationally to the manager regarding the way we were treated, the cashier (Karina) did not even bother to apologize and instead smirked at my distress (mind you, the manager talked to her before I walked out of the store). The facility is decent but I usually strive for customer service. There are better Sedano's in the area; I would steed clear from this one.

Prices are a bit high. Cashiers are pleasant most of the time. They only seem to hire Cubans and so they will scream at you if you make a mental lapse. You will also be stuck in line for an hour if you are so unlucky to be behind an old Cuban that is talking about Cuba to the cashier. I am Cuban myself but it is annoying.

I went to this Sedano's yesterday, after a plus 20 year hiatus, and I can honestly say that this grocery chain has not lost its Hispanic flair. It is the mix between a Presidente and Winn Dixie. What this means is that each aisle is perfectly organized and clean while still retaining a Latin vibe. Please note that it is one of those places where knowing Spanish is a huge plus. I was looking for some coconut water, and I was only able to find it after fumbling around with my Spanglish and managing to say "Donde esta agua de coconut?". It is actually supposed to be "agua de coco". Good service and superb organization earn it 4 stars.
