This place is highway robbery. Do not fall for their seemingly cheap prices. I reserved a car from this location and when I got there, there was a hour long wait (mind you for approximately 4 people in front of me). The issue everyone was having was due to the fact that they require a declaration of your insurance policy. Not only did I have to show them 24 pages worth of documentation of my FULL COVERAGE insurance, but then I was told they do not "accept" my insurance company. I have never had that issue with a rental car service before. They told me the insurance companies they work with are listed in their website and in the terms and conditions of the rental agreement (obviously there is no list!) I asked how much it was to use their insurance and it was $50/day, which was more than the rental car itself!I then asked if I could cancel my reservation and was told they absolutely could not do that because I had reserved through an online booking company. I left without a rental car, without a refund and immediately went to Enterprise where I got an upgrade and they gave me no issue about the car insurance and had me in and out in under 30 minutes.

People, do not go here. Your rental will never be as cheap as they say. At least 10 people in line. No one walked out happy. Those that actually got a car from them paid hundreds more made to believe they had no better choices anywhere in Miami. Just pay more up front with a reputable company. They are scammers.

This place is AWFUL. The WORST. BEWARE. First you see a very low price. It is a bait and switch. There is only 50 miles per day allowed. For unlimited miles it’s twenty five dollars per day. Wait that’s not all. The toll violation is 100 dollars if you don’t not take the toll package for $14.00 per day! Customer service is AWFUL. You have to check your own car out. They don’t even have a rep doing it with you! Never again. You end up spending more here than at the premium rental car companies. When I returned the car it took for ever for someone to check the car back in.

Im writing this review because i was very anxious after booking with them and reading all the reviews. But i had limited budget and i was willing to take a risk. I booked them on expedia because it said 35 dollar for 5 day for Nissan altima or equivalent. Which is quite impressive and impossible. I went to the airport. They have a pick up point outside the rental car area. Shuttle will pick you up and take you to rental office. They come every 15 20 minutes. Once you are at the counter They will ask for your insurance and yes they will sell you their insurance where they make most of their money. But if you have your complete paper work done before you can save on that. They ask for insurance declaration number. Please keep that when you go. We use state farm insurance so we had that on the card. Then they ll sell you toll for 12.99 a day. Which in my opinion if you buy will obviously help you. We also got car seat which was 10 per day. So I payed 137 total for 5 days. Which is still not a bad deal considering how expensive uber/lyft is in miami. The car i got was nissan altima. It was almost brand new. Very clean inside and outside. They asked me to check and mark on the paper if theres any damage when you pick up. They take pictures when you drop off. They charged me security of 1000 dollars on credit card. And it was returned the day i dropped my car back. I did return car with full tank, you might be able to save on that. 4 star only because I paid 137 instead of 35. Also they charge extra if you want to add another person who might be driving the car. But process was great. And honestly even if you book with any other company they will tell you something else when you book and once you are the counter they keep adding things and you end up paying more than you actually booked it for. My experience was great with next car. Very smooth. I totally recommend it if you are looking for cheaper car rental options.

Horrible experience with this company they do not tell you they don't not except any insurance company other than the main 5. Feel so bad for the employees here. we literally had ppl crying next to us and eveyone in there furious about the same thing. Employees rude as can be since I'm sure they deal with this all day everyday .Manger wouldn't even care to hear anything from anyone there just made us scroll down to the last page of the 5 pg disclaimer where it says in small print the 5 insurances they accept dishonest company they shuld be warning ppl of this as they are booking not putting it in a disclaimer 5 pages down in small print. Needless to say they charge you 3 to 4 times more then what u were originally suppose to pay

I booked a rental with Mex in Miami, it seemed I was getting a deal but it was more of a scam and end up paying double the amount I would have with a reputable company. Please be aware, if you are from out state. They will not accept your personal liability or collision insurance. MAKE SURE TO CONFIRM THEY ACCEPT YOUR PERSONAL AUTO INSURANCE before booking with them. They only accept Florida state insurance, ex. Geico, State farm and Liberty. Otherwise you will end up paying an additional $30/day. Just for Liability insurance not including collision.

Charged $500 for pre-existing damages.Using Expedia, I booked a rental car from Nextcar in June 2023. Upon arriving at Miami international airport after midnight, I was surprised to find that Nextcar’s location is a shuttle ride a mile away from the airport. After finally arriving at the lot, I waited about a half an hour for the sole representative to handle an unhappy customer with his large family.Unlike other companies, Nextcar requires a full abstract of your insurance policy. I did not have access to my Geico information at that time of night, so I was forced to buy their insurance for $100.The representative said that they had no more economy cars, so they “upgraded“ me to a Camry. The representative mentioned to me that it was a new car and had no problems whatsoever. I took his word for it, and did a cursory look around the car in the dark and did not take any photos, a critical error on my part .After about 15 minutes of waiting in the lot, a young man came to the booth to open the gate, but first took a short video walk around of the car. After this, I drove the car about 45 minutes to my brother’s house and parked it in his driveway under a security camera. I had no further need of it until my return to the airport where the attendant noted deep scratches and melting to the plastic underneath the front bumper, like it was driven through a field. Obviously the damage to the car was there before I rented it but I could not see it at 1:00 in the morning in the dark lot.The agent said I would be charged “only“ $350. I was charged $500 to my credit card and the total bill was $700 for less than two hours of driving.

Don't ever rent a car here!!!! (especially for the Mex Rent-A-Car company). What a terrible service and an extremely bad experience. They let customers wait for more than 2.5 hours due to the super slow processing time, and eventually told the most of customers (who wasted time waiting in line) their reservations were locked and tagged as No Show in their system and refused to refund. What a big scammer and awful car rental company...

This company is the franchise owner it seems like of multiple smaller rental company. I supposedly rented from "Routes Car Rental".This Company is a total scam, and advertises falsely. Their official company policy on their website states that "Local Renters" get 200 miles daily, and it is .20 cents additional per mile. Also, the policy for local renters are ones with no return flight, however that's not the policy that is on the ground, apparently it's not at all based on return flight, it's on your license. Also, what is considered a local is at their discretion; could be who is in the city, county, or state. When you arrive to get vehicle if you are a local you are Screwed! You have to get stuck with the 50 daily miles or pay $30/ day additional. This screwed me because I'm a new Texas Resident who still has a Florida license, and will still have one for 3 months.Despite their policy being in writing, written clear as day on their website, when you finally get someone on the phone they make the decision that they are going to ignore their company policy and just go by whatever they say in the local office. Which defeats the entire purpose of "planning" ahead because everything you plan will just go out the window. They will not only try to screw you on miles, make sure your insurance is intact, if not get ready for $60 a day, and of course, get ready for them to slam you with the "Toll" requirement. It's all BS in the end, they are here only to prey on travelers & visitors. Decline coverage where possible, you do NOT need CDW.Do yourself the favor, DO NOT rent at this car rental company! They are truly here to screw you over, and if you think their corporate office has your back, trust me they do not. Their policies are discretionary no matter where they have them posted. I've also reported this company to Miami Dade Consumer Affairs, Florida AG Office, & BBB.This company needs to be SHUT DOWN for fraud and deceptive business practices.

My experience with this particular car rental company was nothing short of a nightmare, a sentiment echoed by several other customers I witnessed during my visit. The litany of issues began even before I arrived at the location. Despite confirming twice with customer service, including a call just 20 minutes prior to my arrival, I was met with the shocking revelation that my reservation had been canceled without any notification. The company's business practices were riddled with dubious tactics and hidden costs. They refused to accept American Express, presumably to push their own insurance, and imposed unreasonable requirements on personal car insurance policies. Additionally, they had a non-refundable policy on pre-paid rentals if customers couldn't furnish a $2500 hold on their card.Interactions with the staff, particularly George and the manager Luis, were appalling. They came across as unprofessional and manipulative, contributing to an already frustrating experience. Moreover, their contract terms were opaque and predatory. They demanded an unusually high deposit, charged exorbitant fees for minor tolls unless an upfront payment was made, and penalized customers for crossing state lines. The contract, presented on an unreadable pen pad, was only visible after signing, and exiting their parking lot was another ordeal due to malfunctioning equipment.

So a plus for all the one stars we booked online arrive early they made us wait and finally require $2500 deposit for insurance price between 60 and 70 per day. We were treated with no respect and you could feel our black color was related to the way we got treated. Anywhere that I ll see next car the review will be the same

Please save yourself the headache, avoid this business. They nickel and dime you, a complete scam.I spent almost 2hrs going back and forth with them.First they don’t accept American Express, simply because they want you to pay for their insuranceNext, your name has to be first on your personal car insurance policy to use it, even though your listed as insured they say you can’t use it.Next if you pre pay, but then you don’t have the $2500 for them to hold up your card you lose the money you paid for your rental. This place is doing bad business and committing many injustices against patrons.I witness 3 other customers besides myself go through hell with these folks. George is a complete douche and the manager Luis is the golden boy scammer of them all.Spend a bit more money and book elsewhere because when you get there you will end up paying more anyway for a service that is subpar. It also took 30 min to return the car as there was only 2 agents accepting returns and assisting with the pay to park at the same time.Very inconvenient.Last note is that this is one company with licenses to rent cars under many different names as shown in the posted pictures.
