The staff is amazing but one in particular always stands out.. La Señora Carmensita. She's attentive and always serves with a smile. The 305 bowl melts in your mouth and the empanadas are tasty. For a quick fix like a juice cleanse come to Mendez. You won't be disappointed. Gracias equipo y gracias Carmensita por siempre recordarte de mi.

I live down the street and had never ordered from the cafe inside the gas station. I decided to try the 305 açaí bowl and wow! It was an enormous amount they served and it was delicious! Worth the price and quality. I will definitely be trying the other items on the menu. They also have a variety of empanadas, croquetas and cafecitos and the gas station itself offers a variety of different craft beers from our local breweries which is really neat! I picked up a banana beer I have not tried yet from a Hialeah brewery cause I love me some hefeweizen beer!!!!

I came into this Mobile right off the turnpike on 7490 SW 24th Street. I went into the store to buy a Coffee and tried to get an empanada but nobody was in the bakery. I went to purchase my coffee instead and asked the lady in the cash register whom her name is \\\"LLUVA\\\" if I could purchase a Dutch Master's which is a Tobacco Product. She scanned it and asked me for my ID; I proceeded to give her a Government issued ID. It was my Worker's Permit with my picture, name, date/ place of birth, and even my finger print. She denied it and said she couldn’t take it or sell me the Tobacco product because she ‘could not scan’ the ID. I tried asking if she could put my birthdate on the system and she became rude and visibly irritated and kept repeating “no no no.” That it HAD to be a DL, it didn’t matter if what I gave her was a government issued ID. I told her if I could speak to the manager and she lied to me and said she was the manager--- a manager of a retail gas station store WOULD know that the FDA’s rule states that any government issued Photo ID with a birthdate is acceptable. I was not born in this country which is why I gave her my Worker’s Permit, I never had a problem before in any other Mobile. I felt embarrassed that she knew I wasn’t from here and mocked me by saying to come back when I have my DL and she also lied about her position—and if she really is the manager—this Mobile Gas Station should train their employees to be more respectful, understanding, and at least show them how to help their customers; instead of displaying discourteous and discriminating behavior. I will NOT be coming back here. Lluva was unhelpful and ill-mannered; she gave me one of the worst customer service I have ever experienced and she did not even try to help me when my ID clearly showed I was over the age of 21. I strongly discourage anyone from coming into this store and I hope Lluva receives the proper training she needs to improve her customer service skills and understand FDA’s rules and regulations. You have lost a customer, and I will be submitting this review on other social media platforms.
