Finishing our fourth stay this year at the Kimpton Epic. This is our third year with 20+ nights at the Epic and the sixth year we've been visiting the property. Clearly, we enjoy pretty much everything about this hotel.
This is my first review on Google, prior years are on a different platform.
We have gotten to know so many great team members, too many to list. Much of the door team, breakfast team and bar/pool teams have been with the Kimpton for years. To call out a few newer folks who helped out, thank you to Janna at the front desk, Hammy at the door and Irma in housekeeping.
On a few details, the breakfast alone is worth booking. As a diamond ambassador the IHG perk includes breakfast, it's really very good.
The biggest draw for us at this point is that there's so much to do in the area, the restaurants in Brickell and surrounding neighborhoods are almost endless. For the last few years we've been visiting over the Fourth of July for the really epic pool party.
This trip we enjoyed a sunset cruise, a fifteen minute walk to the pier, and a culinary "extravaganza" over on South Beach but otherwise, we just relaxed at the pool, which is always lively.
This is a great property, a great value and a great team. Highly recommend a stay (or many).
Noteworthy details: The gym is amazing. With the residence sharing the gym, the equipment choices are as good as it gets and the area is always very clean. It does get busy.

Good hotel
Front desk staff friendly, location and rooms are nice. Unfortunately when I was staying here, there were fire alarm tests for roughly 2 hours that consisted of random beeping and constant flashing lights in my room.
The front desk was friendly, but unable to convey why this was happening or when it would stop.
Overall, a nice room was overshadowed by (most likely) some sort of maintenance event, which had no warning and made working from the room quite difficult
Rooms: Room is updated and nice
Safety: Fire alarm went off for 2 hours with no heads up or subsequent explanation
Noteworthy details: Food is sub par for the price. >$50 for steak nachos with "cheese" that was pilfered from the local little league kitchen

Overpriced in the extreme! Whatever you do, don’t eat at Area 31…..very poor menu and food quality and probably about the worst value for money we’ve ever experienced. Plan on some fast food after as the portions are so tiny.

This is one of the grossest hotels I’ve been in. Room reeked of cigarette smoke, a hair was on the toilet seat when I first arrived, and multiple sticky spots on floor. When I asked to change rooms they said they wouldn’t do that but that they would send housekeeping to spray deodorant in the room. Gross.
Also the pool closes at 6pm… in Miami? What a waste

My family & I stayed here for one night just to get out the house & break routine.
We arrived at night and it was pretty busy… we had to ask the valet multiple times if they had spaces that had charging stations but they acted like we were speaking a different language. So, after checking in my husband had to go charge our car then come back up. A little frustrating tbh…
We stayed in room 2024… the room wasn’t too clean but didn’t make a fuss since we were only staying one night (pictures attached.) the view was nice and room service was quick. We ordered a pizza for my son & he enjoyed it.
This location wouldn’t be my first choice when booking in Miami again…

Incredibly rude front desk and maintenance staff, rooms are antiquated with loud A/C, TVs from 10+ years ago, and really bad lighting. This was a 4 star hotel when it was built but has been allowed to decay to the level of any standard Marriott with overpriced boutiques and restaurants

Beautiful hotel in an ok location. Service was miserable though. I wouldn’t stay there again based on how bad it was.

Update:
After checking out I reached out to corporate who informed me that hotel director would call me Monday. I did have the opportunity to speak with Melissa who took the time to listen to the experience. She agreed that the experience we had is not normal as they take pride in providing a memorable experience. Melissa did property address the matter and I appreciate her professionalism.
Disappointing Hotel Experience:
We recently stayed at Kimpton Epic in Miami. This hotel left much to be desired. Despite being members, we were not able to access any of our usual perks due to a special event. Management should have staffed accordingly to make sure all guests were taken care of. The beds were not comfortable, air in room didn’t work properly, no early check in or late check out. Pool area was beautiful but couldn’t use cabanas due to special event.
Additionally, we were denied services at both Area 31 and Zuma, the hotel's restaurants. To top it off, in order to sit indoors or outdoors at Zuma, guests were required to purchase a $150 brunch package. At Area 31, we were unable to get cocktails at the indoor bar without ordering food, even though we had eaten there earlier.
The lack of availability for spa services was also frustrating. Despite our requests for an early check-in, the front desk staff, especially Fernando, and the manager did not seem to make much of an effort to accommodate us. Communication was lacking, and we were left feeling unwelcome and unimportant.
Overall, our experience at this hotel was disappointing. We had to request extra pillows and towels 3 times. Valet offered help with taxi which never arrived and we ended up getting an Uber. We were not able to enjoy the amenities we had come to expect as members, and our requests were not taken seriously. There is definitely room for improvement in terms of customer service and communication. We hope that in the future, the hotel will do better to make all guests feel valued and appreciated.
Rooms: Room was spacious and luxurious but I was disappointed in the level of comfort in the bedding. The pillows were also flat. It was difficult to get a good night of sleep. We also had to deal with the loud music and smell of weed coming from the room next to us
Nearby activities: Bayside Market is a 10-15 walk from hotel and good place to have a meal or cocktail. They had Margaritaville and Hard Rock along with other vendors.
Walkability: Beautiful walking paths along water and by nearby park
Food and drinks: If you like some Cuban food definitely go to Olds Havana it’s a short 3 miles. Reservations recommend. This place will not disappoint. Food and service was amazing!

Super clean and modern hotel.
Well located on Biscayne Avenue not far from Bay side.
Our room had a great view and fast room service. The dishes were also good.
So go for it?
Nearby activities: Bay side park and mall

What a wonderful hotel with great views all around. Exceptional restaurants within the hotel and great location close to many restaurants and bars plus shopping.
