Wow, definitely should have read the reviews about the customer service. Absolutely awful, and they try to clean their hands and only point fingers at the distributor. I, like others have said, purchased an item that I was TOLD was in stock and should be delivered ASAP. Lo and behold, one month later, still have not received. I follow-up bi-weekly, and bi-weekly, I am told there is a new delivery date. Pushed back. Pushed back. Pushed back. 3 times now. They never reach out proactively to tell me, even after the date of arrival has passed. They wait until I reach out which I do after a day or so grace period of not receiving the item, only to hear that it was pushed back again. I should have ordered directly from the Herman Miller site instead of using Design Within Reach. Absolutely awful experience. Now I am in a pickle because the purchase I made with them had 20% off Herman Miller which does not always go on sale. So due to their negligence I will be out 20% if I cancel my purchase. Oh and also, take a look at the screenshot below when I asked if there could be further compensation for the inconveniences, and some guarantee on this 3rd delayed delivery date. The response is laughable "What do you want me to do?" I don't know... Answer the questions? Eventually he forwarded me to the manager (or at least says he did, and she says there is nothing they can do). Don't know what to believe anymore.

Beautiful store, thank God they have the prices of the furniture displayed so customers conveniently review & ask additional information if interested. Some of the Italian furniture shops in Miami Design District do not have any visible prices on items which makes it very inconvenient for customers especially when the sales people do not know the prices of the top of their heads, which most did not. Design Within Reach is one of my fav stores that i shopped over the years. Mostly in their Cherry Creek store in Denver, Co. They have beautiful furniture within reach.

Horrible experience with them. Bought a dining table, it was delivered as defected, they never repaired it. After I offered to pay for the repairs myself, still took them 2 months to give me the number of their repair company. Surprisingly, the number does not work and the repair company is out of business! Do yourself a favor and avoid this store. They have no accountability and take no pride in what they do. Such a shame

As everyone has already said, customer service was terrible. It's almost impossible to get hold of anyone and when you do, they seem disinterested. I ordered the Airy Coffee Table and only the top arrived. The legs are someone in the mail 'black hole'. It was really difficult to try and arrange a return and refund.

I bought 4 bar stools at the Miami store on September 21 because I was told they were in stock and I would get them by September 30. I have repeatedly called the store representatives and nobody knows what`s going on. They just mention it`s a "system glitch". I don`t get any updates on my case unless I call them and I feel totally abandoned by the company. The other day I called the Miami store and Daniel laughed at my despair in a clear disrespectful attitude. Yesterday, I called customer services and the representative hung up on me while I was complaining about the situation. Is this the way DWR treats its clients?

We happily bought a nice big counter for the wall. We were given a ETA date of a few months because of supply line delays. We decided to purchase with that ETA. Then the ETA was changed for 3 months later. Getting closer to that it was again changed for 4 months later. After much frustration and many months waiting we were told that the item had been discontinued. So we finally got the refund and they didn't really show much concern. Be careful before purchasing or getting excited about a purchase for your home.

I came in last week just to look around. I didn’t ask for help but Tyler kept insisting. I let him know that I’ve been working with someone in the NYC location for the past month. And I was here to look at some pieces because I’m here on vacation for 3 days. He didn’t do much but kept following me around. And without my knowledge he quoted all the items I looked at. I didn’t tell him to give me a quote after I deliberately told him I’ve been working with someone for the past month. This was an invasion of privacy. And DWR wasn’t looking out for me They (he) were looking out for their own pockets. There should be a code of conduct for employees to be honest and not breech someone’s privacy for their personal gain. Get new employees who have morals to respect someone’s wishes. I know for a fact I will never step back into the Miami location again. There needs to be a change in this company.

WORST SERVICE EVER!!! I WILL NEVER SHOP AT DESIGN WITHIN REACH AGAIN!They installed my shelf to the wall without asking me for permission, but proceeded to install it so poorly that it ripped of my wall and collapsed. Not to mention how dangerous this could have been if I had a kid or pet under the shelf at that moment, but also the damaged items that were on that shelf without getting any refund from the store. It's been a month now that I'm waiting for the store to pick the shelf back up and refund me, and each time they say they will contact me but NOT A SINGLE UPDATE. I keep reaching out to have news and they keep leading. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND DELIVERY/ INSTALLATION PEOPLE! Save yourself a nightmare and shop somewhere else

Very bad experience with delivery. We bought night stands, among many other pieces , and the delivery was a disaster, they split the delivery without letting us know in advance,; by the time I was able to reserve the elevator in the building and was available to receive it, a few days had passed and they charged us for storage. Julio, the sales rep who took care of us did not do the minimum effort to cover for that extra expense, which was caused by their lack of coordination. No one explained to us when we were buying furniture that if you cannot receive the delivery by a certain timeframe the third party will charge storage per day. After spending more than $15,000 in their store, they were not able to figure out how to cover for $100 of storage. Very disappointing experience. On top of everything, Julio was extremely rude when we spoke after several attempts over email to ask for his help to solve the problem, he said "do you think I am a fortune teller to know that you were not going to be available...."

I was connected to Juan M. at this Miami location via the DWR website chat, my order was placed over the phone based on the photos online. I ordered several pieces of black outdoor furniture from him: 2 chaise lounges, table, chairs, cushions. What I received looked nothing like the photos I was shown and placed my order based on. There were white fibers/threads sticking out through the fabric from something underneath and the fabrics stitching wasn't straight. Juan acted like he totally understood and then I guess after speaking with management changed his tune. I asked for replacement ones that were solid black (like photos I was shown), or substantial partial refund if I had to keep these, or come pick up my entire order and issue me a FULL refund. (I of course bought all these pieces to go together). After no help and numerous emails back and forth basically saying "tough luck deal with it" he offered a measly $200 refund. (I spent over $3,000) NOT OK. Over a month later I still didn't have even the $200 refund... Gabriela T., The General Manager of the store, took over. She told me should would get an additional refund but had to go to corporate for approval. NEVER DID. She was a nightmare to deal with, completely condescending and rude. Called me one day 6 times in a 2 hour period and not because I wasn't answering, I answered every time for her to just talk in circles and waste my time. I am soooo disappointed as I had numerous other items I wanted to purchase from DWR but they do not care or value you as a customer. DO NOT RECOMMEND this company or their employees!
