I don't really tend to leave reviews, I've always found the practice to be archaic-- but this experience left me very insulted and disappointed and it felt only right to share it so that future potential customers know to avoid this company. On Saturday 10/21 I called Coconut Grove Dry Cleaners to inquire if I dropped off some materials (three large table cloths) if they could have these items ready by Monday. The man on the phone was friendly and said sure, so I went over and dropped the laundry off. He said it would be ready Monday by 4pm. Some scheduling conflicts came up, so on Monday I called them around 10:30 and asked if there was any chance I could pick up the laundry earlier than 4. A few things to note here: 1. I was more than ok with the answer being "no." I could find accommodations and help to get this laundry picked up if it simply could not be ready before 4. No big deal. 2. I was courteous and polite with the man on the phone, completely understanding that what I was asking was something that might not be possible. Really, truly no big deal. So what does the man on the phone say? "We'll see." And then HANGS UP on me. What??? Honestly couldn't believe how rude he was, pero bienvenida a Miami I guess. I called back because, honestly, wtf. The man didn't get my name, didn't inquire as to my ticket number. How does a "we'll see" answer the question at all? So I call back, and say, still kind and courteous to give him the benefit of the doubt, "sorry sir, I don't know if the call disconnected but I just need to know if this is possible." He immediately started SCREAMING at me, "MA'AM. HELLO. CAN YOU HEAR ME. ARE YOU LISTENING. HELLO. HELLO." Feigning a "poor connection" but also inferring that I wasn't listening to him. We both know the connection was fine. I let him yell, and eventually say "sir, I've been nothing but courteous, patient, and kind to you and I don't deserve to be spoken to this way. I'm just trying to get an idea of if this item can be ready by 2pm. His response "well, I said we'll see. We'll just have to see. Maybe come by around 3? I don't know, whatever." I respond, "honestly I need more of a definitive answer, it's ok if the answer is no. No worries, have a good day." And disconnected the call. Y'all. I spent $160 on 3 tablecloths. I didn't bat an eye at the price, which, let's be real, was outrageous. I could have gone anywhere, but I chose this cleaner because it is a family owned business in a neighborhood-y part of town and I wanted to support something locally owned. I will not be returning here. The person on the phone was disrespectful, rude, dismissive, and it wasn't even warranted. Honestly it made me cry after hanging up. What did I do to deserve that level of disrespect? Stay away if you value your time, dignity, and money.

I have coming here since I moved to the Grove in 2001. They know everyone by their name. Old school customer service. Love these guys. You figure in the Grove it would cost an arm and a leg but it doesn't.

It always goes back to that old saying, "you get what you pay for..."I decided to try this place because I was tired of spending $200+ for dry cleaning from Sudsies (a far superior service by the way) and decided to give this place a shot since it's very convenient for me. I made the stupid mistake of bringing some pricey items here (2 linen suits, 2 shirts, 2 pants, and a cashmere sweater.) I should have trusted my gut when I dropped it off because the place looks ramshackle and dirty but decided to persist because I just needed to get these items clean. The guy who runs it is neither friendly nor rude - but simply asked me "how many pieces?" Instead of actually looking at what I was bringing to him for cleaning. I pointed out a grease stain and he basically ignored it saying "the chemicals will soak it up." Wonderful. Came back and my bill was just over $100 which was great, but the clothes smell dirtier than when they got there, the white shirt is now off-white, and he HUNG a cashmere sweater on a wire hanger. If you don't care about your clothes or don't have any nice pieces you want to care for properly, this is your place. If you have designer clothes that you want to prolong the life of, don't come here. Also, if you lose your ticket... I really have no idea how you would locate your "clean" clothes upon pick up seeing as they don't take your phone number or even your name. Very bizarre place. I feel bad because I want to support a mom and pop, but there's something to be said about going somewhere that actually has processes in place.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail. I can't recommend them enough. They've saved me from a few "I need something to wear to this thing tomorrow night" situations on several occasions and they always came thru with impeccable results. Thanks again! Sebastian jimenez

Amazed at the bad reviews. They have excellent service and quality. If need something quick they always come through..never, ever had a problem after many years as a client. I think if your super high maintenance they probably prefer not to deal with you. Old school family biz.
