I brought a ring in to get resized. The stone was completely switched to the wrong direction to cover up that they clearly dropped and cracked the herkimer diamond. They blamed the crack on whoever the previous owner was and said they filled it with glue. What?! It was bought from a company and there was never a crack in it. I am a very understanding person and a simple apology and a credit would have sufficed but instead they denied and blamed someone else and had the nerve

I brought a ring to get resized. I picked this location based on it was one of the only places open on a Saturday in the Seybold building. The person working there was very nice so I felt comfortable leaving my ring there. The ring was silver with a herkimer diamond which is known for its points on either end. When I picked up the ring, the diamond was completely switched in the wrong direction, with the points horizontal instead of vertical, which left the points hidden within the prongs. When I saw it, I said that the herkimer diamond was the wrong direction. The woman said there would be no reason for the jeweler to touch the stone and that I was mistaken, it was the same as always was. I scrolled through my pictures on my phone and showed her. She appeared shocked and said they would switch it and to come back tomorrow. Then she called me an hour later and said, "The jeweler said he switched the stone around because there was a large crack in it that someone must have filled with glue." Then she asked who the previous owner was. I informed her it was bought from a company and there was never a crack in it. She of course denied this. She then stated she highly encourages me to leave the stone in the direction it is now because the crack may not hold up. I told her to switch the stone back to how it was. When I picked up the ring the next day it was VERY CLEAR the ring was dropped and cracked or a large piece of it must have fallen off and they glued it back together. The crack is right on top of the stone so it is very obvious. Not once did this woman apologize or offer a credit. I am a very understanding person and would have understood that mistakes happen but instead this woman denied and then blamed a 'previous owner'. Though the woman was nice the entire time, nothing was done to correct the situation. I strongly believe if a jeweler can destroy a ring with no apologies in a simple ring resizing procedure, it is highly possible for them to mess up even more. To be safe, I highly encourage you bring your jewelry to any other company in the Seybold building. There are hundreds to choose from and this is not one to take a risk with.

What a wonderful experience. They really took the time to listen to every detail my fiancé wanted and made everything happen. After the engagement, we had to get my ring resized and they made it happen in 24hrs. Amazing! I highly recommend and will be coming back for our wedding bands.
