A disaster. There were cockroaches in the room. And they weren't surprised at the reception when I went to tell them.
Rooms: Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with the place.
Safety: Zero. There is no one to control access. The door is left open without any type of control

This "hotel" is not a hotel, it is worse than any motels I've ever been in. The nice photos that they used to advertise on google are photos from the hotel next to it. All the photos of the amenities also don't belong to this place - they belong to the hotel next building.
The rooms are horrendous. Food scraps stuck near the headboard, blood stains on curtains and carpet.
It legitimately looked like a crime scene.
The "reception" was a dusty storage area - no one worked there.
It's been a whole month since our stay, and this place is still holding onto my $300 deposit. No one picked up calls. All in all, $645 for 3 nights is a scam.

The service is disgusting, they charge you a deposit of 100 per day, in my case it was 200 of which had to be returned, because they did not charge me a tax that until now I do not know what it is. The receptionist gives bad attention if you arrive at night, we waited more than 2 hours while the person in charge of the reception woke up. In conclusion, cheap is expensive.

So firstly, do not look at the pictures provided for this hotel and get excited like I did. I was under the impression that this was a cute little hotel with great amenities. I was wrong.
When I arrived, I struggled to find check in. The courtyard is empty except for the fountain in the center and a smokers pole on the terf by the corner but no outdoor seating at all. I went into the lobby of SBH and it was empty. The lobby area had a bar to the right as you walk in that most would assume to be the front desk. It looked more like the place had been abandoned, behind the desk is now being used as storage. There was another small alcove to the left that had also been ‘converted’ to storage.
So I walked out with my three suitcases and walked up and down the block trying to find out where the check in was. A man finally opened the door to the hotel next door and asked me if I needed help. I said I was looking for check in and he held the door open and waved me inside.
Check in was very pleasant, there is a $100/night deposit which is normal for most hotels, and they gave me my room keys. When I returned to the ‘lobby’ inside the SBH, there were a set of about 5 stairs I had to carry everything up in order to get to my room on the first floor which isn’t a them issue, it’s my fault for packing so heavy, but the woman at the desk told me to go to the right, and I had to do the stairs twice since my room was actually on the left. But again, no biggie.
The rooms were a decent size but the hotel is showing its age. The rooms are musty, and when trying to open a window to let air in, they were all screwed shut. So I tried to turn on the A/C but it was preset so all I could do was switch between heat, cool, and off. I also noticed my window’s glass was cracked as well.
The amount of stains I found around the room definitely made me a bit wary as well, there was one on the couch, many on the curtains and even one on my bedspread. I found old Nutella snack containers behind my head board, since the outlets for the bed are covered by the headboard and I like to watch my shows before bed, so I had to fight to plug in my power strip.
The bathroom was as clean as it could be for the hotels age, they could benefit from a lime scale treatment on their waterfall shower heads though.
Now the biggest problem with the hotel is the noise. If you stay here, bring headphones to sleep in to block out a bit of the noise. Even at full volume I could still hear people partying in the courtyard, yelling at people, and the person above me must have been mad at the world with how hard they were stomping around.
The rooftop pool is accessible by going the whole way through the hotel next door, but it closes at 7pm, which I didn’t finish work until 7 so I was saddened by that.
Overall, if you’re looking for cheap accommodation for the weekend, I’d recommend with a warning. It’s a deal but there are sacrifices made for the price point.
Edit: it is now a month after my stay and the $300 has yet to be returned to me. The woman on the operator line said that she would work on it and call back in a few days.. I’d like my money please.
Walkability: Two blocks from the beach entrance, many places to stop and shop. Even close to the ‘strip’ I found full of shops and beachwear.

They charged $40/ night as a resort fees on top of the hotel reservation fees. Ridiculous! Not worth the price.

The only good thing about this hotel is the shared amenities with the boulan next door. So seriously just pay a few more bucks and get a decent room next door.

In general terms it is a very good hotel with enough and necessary for 3 nights in Miami.
Things to improve: hallway lighting and bathroom ventilation. Check-in is done at the hotel next door but personally it doesn't bother me, it's just that there should be a better indication of it.
PS: If you think this may be an inconvenience, book at the hotel next door that is from the same hotel group.
The best: the breakfast is exquisite and abundant, the location as it is close to Lincoln Rd and Collins, having the trolley at hand to explore Miami Beach. The pool and terrace are very nice although access is not direct.
I already recommended the hotel to a work colleague and I would go again.
Rooms: They should improve the ventilation of the bathrooms and the pillows were very soft or puffy, I personally like them a little firmer.
It has just what you need for the typical Miami shopping tour or a comfortable stay in the city.
Nearby activities: It is close to the Miami trolley that runs throughout Miami beach and is free although you can walk and stroll since it is 2 from Washington Avenue and 6 from Lincoln.
A block and a half away you have the private beach service, the only bad thing is that you had to pay for the drinks (although it is understandable) and the umbrella (22 USD)

THE MOLDED MOTEL FROM HELL!!
First off The hotel is over priced for its outdated rooms. The pictures posted are fraudulent. It doesn’t have a lobby or check in desk, you’ll have to check in next door at the Boulan. The courtyard is dead and empty with no life throughout the day so the place looks abandoned. We arrived early and were granted access to amenities (next door) which wasn’t much just the beach or pool, and breakfast has to be paid for. We finally got checked in, walking into the place it’s old run down and smells of mold. The room was nice at first glance with plenty of space, but did also smell musty/ molded. The bed was horrible, the ac did not work, the tv only had one channel, and the mini fridge did not cool.
We had room 118 right next to the entrance so we heard a million people stomping all night and just when you think it’s over we wake up to rolling carts all morning at 6:00 am, the workers in and out rolling metal carts back and forth all morning, no one wants to fall asleep late to stomping all night then wake up to literally workers talking and carts rolling back and forth all morning. THEY WERE SO LOUD. If I could post a video I would! I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy, We will never return. It was a 0/10 for us and doesn’t even deserve the one star! This place is a joke ?
I’d be embarrassed to own this place! Or even work in such a place with this poor of service.
My husband woke up at 6:00 am and literally said “this has to be one of the top worst hotels we have ever stayed at” he was thinking what I was thinking. We only booked this place for one night thank god, we leave on our cruise tomorrow. I posted a few photos of the men right outside our window talking loud af as if guests are not asleep on vacation.
Plus they charge a resort fee as if this place is anywhere near any kind of resort experience. THIS IS A MOLDED MOTEL FROM HELL.
And please save your automated/fake response apologizing for my stay or experience acting as if your company cares about customers, you respond to everyone in the reviews section and still no changes have been made to this cheap rundown place.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!! I prepaid for 4 nights than when I got here they charged me and additional $400 "security deposit" on top of a $182 "resort fee" and this is not a "RESORT"
Worst hotel experience ever first off basically most of the pictures on here are of the adjoining hotel not south beach that hotel owns south beach secondly there is no parking what so ever provided by the hotel you actually have to drive around looking for a parking structure lastly you will get a ticket on your car if you unload it and leave it sit out front of the hotel while you drop your bags off and the hotel will not tell you anything or even warn you. The AC does not work in the rooms so on hot nights you will be sweating and last but not least they advertise plush comfortable beds they are not comfortable and they are beyond plush they are so out dated its ridiculous and they room smells rachet. I did try and resolve this with the front desk and simply asked for a different room and she told me that was not gonna change my room if I didn't like it I could find somewhere else than went on to say "oh by the way your stay will not be refunded just so you know". Let's just say Motel 6 is like a 5 star hotel compared to here.
Nearby activities: If you are willing to walk a couple miles because it is very hard to find somewhere to park you'll find a bunch of beautiful places to go as well as the Miami Beach.
Walkability: Everything is about a 1 to 2 Mile walk.

Really cute, quiet little hotel just a block or so off the beach. I loved the art deco courtyard. Decor could use a refresh but my room was very comfortable and impeccably clean. The pool is small but lovely.
Walkability: Very easy walking to the convention center, Española Ave, and the beach

They pay for good reviews. The only honest reviews I’ve seen are the 1 stars. Don’t trust this place in cleanliness, guest services, or customer support! No one addresses any complaints actionably. No one responds honestly. It’s a scam and doesn’t deserve your money. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a hospitality company. Garbage garbage garbage - they deserve to go bankrupt for how much they’re scamming their guests.

Overall, the SBH was a great place to stay! Our room was fantastic, the location magnificent, and the rooftop pool and hot tub were a fantastic highlight. I’d say the only downside was needing to walk out of the building and through the lobby next door to get to the pool and hot tub…

This place is a joke. We reserved a room unaware of the construction that be taking place at 7am. There was banging, loud talking, and music playing our entire stay. Then when asked how it would be made up to us l, we were met with radio silence. This place is trash. Do not stay

This hotel has BEDBUGS. Specifically, room 208. I provided video of the bedbugs to the manager Emma, and she responded four days later saying that the room does not have bedbugs despite my experience, my photos, and my video proof. Refused to provide a refund ..I would never stay here again. The bedbugs were in both beds, and I witnessed them ON my 12 year old daughter. The video that I have shows bedbugs on both beds. Maintenance was kind enough to bring us industrial size garbage bags to throw our clothes away. We are back home now and we both had to go to the doctors because of the bumps. I reached out to Emma at the hotel once more as well as Expedia and the lack of care is disheartening. Also had to report numerous pre-existing damages so I wouldn’t get charged. Was told maintenance would replace the chewed up chair. Maintenance came to tell us they don’t replace chairs?Never again.

It is the worst hotel in all of Miami. When you arrive and see it from the outside it is normal, but when you enter it is very old, like abandoned, very old and small rooms, its cleanliness does not stand out. The only thing is the location that is not one of the worst. The worst of all is that you arrive with the hotel paid for, they ask for your credit card for a deposit of 100 dollars per day, so they withheld 400 dollars for three nights in my case, which they tell you they will return to you later. After a few days you find yourself with a charge of 180 dollars for service fees, which I don't know what service they refer to, without informing you at any time when checking in. I find it unfortunate the way they take advantage of people, because if they at least inform you you can choose, but at no time do they do it. I do not recommend at all!!!! Some scammers
