We reserved a car in advance, and when we arrived for it, they told us that they didn't have it and made the cancellation process super long, when it was their fault.

Do not rent from here. I reserved and only had mini vans or electric cars left. Really very big disappointment. Stay away from here for a relief on your trip

Allowed me to start a rental earlier by a few hours and had a good clean car for me. Drop off was super easy, just office was busy since it's a popular location.

PAYLESSCAR in Miami Beach is a total scam.On September 21 they offered me to rent a car and when I went they denied me the car and told me that they did not have cars available, however they charged more than 100 dollars to my credit card without having picked up the car or accepting this charge.I already made the complaint to the bank and they will make the refund to my account.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS RENTAL COMPANY. SIMPLY THE WORST. UNSAFE VEHICLES. Where do I start. I rented a 12 passenger van to take my family on a trip. When I arrived at the counter, the transaction went smooth. I asked if they where going to inspect the vehicle with me and I was told that the vehicle had been inspected. If I found any concerns, take pictures and bring them back. The van was filthy... I had to get the van cleaned prior to loading my family, which included three babies. As we are driving to our destination, the van began shaking vigorously and making a very loud noises. Upon pulling over in the middle of the night on the highway, we found that the Van that was "Inspected" prior to being delivered did not have a spare tire. My heart just dropped... The plastics cover that wraps around the top part of the van towards the back doors was loose and flapping hard on the roof of the van. The spare tire mount was hitting the spare tire wheel well causing a very scary loud noise as we drove. At this point, we where stuck with the unsafe van travelling over 400 miles. I immediately called to report this and all i got was VM. There was no return call or sense of urgency to ensure our family was safe in the unsafe van. We returned on Sunday, November 8th in the middle of a hurricane watch having to drive at 60 MPH because of the unsafe conditions and the loud noises in the van. I returned the van one day late because when we got home, we needed to prepare for a potential storm. When I arrived, I was scalded for returning the van late. I explained the issues I experienced and the manager did not show any empathy and stated that she would need to see if the company would do anything to make this awful experience right. I was not looking for a free ride, but an apology and empathy for our troubles. I checked my credit card statement and found that I was charged and extra day (although I explained in detail why it was late) not to mention that the rental office closes at 1pm due to COVID and my rental agreement stated to return the van on Sunday at 8pm, 7 hours after they would have closed. Simply the WORST RENTAL experience I've ever encountered. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

Best customer services (Mary), affordable prices. No trouble with the vehicle (Jeep Gladiator) gas economy. Made to Key West and half way back with a full tank. Price are decent (under $110) on a weekday. I recommend it. Dated 04/15/2021

The worst car rental. You make a reservation come to pick up the car and they say they dont have the car wait at least 2 hours.

This is the worst car rental company in America!! Do not rent from them!! I rented a car from them during my vacation in Miami. I booked the car 3 months in advance. When I showed up to pick up my car, I was told by someone in their office--who did not even work for Payless--that I would need to go to the Miami airport if I wanted a car. When I called Payless they said yes this was true. They said that there was nothing they could do! They refused to bring a car to their Miami beach location, they refused to refund my pre-paid car rental fee, they refused to compensate me for the taxi ride to the airport, they simply said good luck! This is definitely not a company you want to deal with!
