I don’t know if I’m speaking to this Walmart or all of Walmart in general, because each one is a unique experience.
But, if Walmart were a single person then I would happily marry them. And trust that means a lot coming from me. But maybe the irony of it is that Walmart could never be what it is without all of its people. It would fail as a singularly identifying mass.
Why do I choose to shop at Walmart?
I’m reminded of that oddly familiar feeling. The hope of being helped, of getting the best price in a dire circumstance.
In reality, Walmart has been marketed to me this way.
So why is it that there’s always an unsettling feeling that remains?

If I could rate this store a 0 I would, this is the second time I got profiled at this store. To start off I was in the aisle and asked a white female older worker to point where the sewing needles were and she looked at me and walked away which was extremely rude. Then, I checked out at the register and an older white man started asking for my receipt. My girlfriend forgot something in the store so she went back solo, she checked out thru self checkout and was never asked for her receipt along with an older gentleman.

I love my little beachside Walmart. The employees are always so sweet. It's definitely much different than any other walmart and seems like more of a small town store.

It is a small Walmart. No fresh food or produce is available. Limited selection on food products. Good for a beach trip, but not to prepare a fresh meal.

There are not enough items on the shelves. Bacon & sausage almost bare. Not enough varieties. Not enough varieties of coffee.

Barely anything you need in stock, employees are dead-eyed and won't help you find stuff. Would not recommend. Didn't even have heated blankets in stock or compression socks in stock.

Don't Be Fooled: The prices of items on the clearance rack in the food section are not reduced. So, don't think that you're getting a deal. I've been monitoring this for months. Go see for yourself. Currently: Sun Chips/Sour Cream and Onion, $3.98 on the clearance rack. They've been this price for months. The other flavors of Sun Chips that didn't get discontinued, and remain in the regular location, on the Snacks Aisle, are also $3.98. Go see. (Last Month) Snyder's Pretzel Pieces/Cheddar Cheese Regular price $3.62. They were, "ON SALE!" On The Clearance Rack, $3.62! I was buying these for over a year: DISCONTINUED!?! Doesn't make sense. "Let's discontinue the popular items and sell them on the clearance rack for the same price. Dah!" Well, what do you expect from WalMart? Competence? Reduced Prices? Logical Thinking? I've pointed this out to the rejects that work at the Customer Service desk. They're always clueless and give me attitude, like they're in some kind of position of power or something. It's pathetic. I think it's part of the job description: "Must be a jerk to customers." Don't forget to give them one star at self checkout. The rating screen pops up right when it's time for you to look down to get your change. They time it like this on purpose, so you don't rate them. Not like it matters anyway.

It’s not the best Walmart. The grocery section is pretty weak. I wish Walmart would open up a much larger store on the island. It’s good in a pinch but the other Walmart around 15 minutes away is so much better.
