Carol changed our lives by teaching us to train our beloved dog, Ruby. Most importantly, she trained us, the humans! We were amazed at Ruby’s progress in such a short time, and Carol was able to retrain from mistakes that we had made. We are grateful, and enjoying the results!

After meeting Carol for the Home Evaluation/Consultation, we decided to sign-up for the 4-week Adult/Puppy Private In-home Training sessions. We are so excited with Carol’s positive energy that we asked, if we could add-on two more sessions (e-collar and agility course guidance). Carol checks-in on how the training is going and she is just a text away, if you have any questions. My Golden is a Service Dog in Training and is doing fantastic. He just loves people and other dogs. He no longer jumps up on people, he is calm and now performs all tasks assigned. Carol states that all dogs need a job…I am a true believer! I have never been a fan of the e-collar, but Carol took the time to explain the e-collar in more detail (with her knowledge/expertise…it is a wonderful tool, when used correctly). Carol suggested maybe an agility course for our large backyard. We set up a mini agility course (excellent exercise and fun at the same time) my Golden absolutely LOVES IT! ? We are so impressed that Carol involves other family members and/or neighbors to participate in training; therefore, she can visualize the whole picture of what needs to be addressed with the individual training. The training session at Wickham Park was the perfect place to deal with distractions (people, dogs and workers, etc.). Honestly, I did my research and visited a few other training facilities before hiring DePaul K9 Academy. Carol is a true professional, very knowledgeable and such a kind person. Absolutely incredible!!!! I have 2 Staffies (80 lb and 60 lb, ages 4 and 1) who I hadn't been diligent about training or manners with. The first day of training, the younger and smaller one was jumping and nipping - it was really terrible. I am now at week 4, and as of today's session, when someone comes in I can send them to \"place\" (go lay in their beds), open the door, let people in calmly, and have a conversation without either dog moving. Absolutely incredible! I feel empowered, I have a better relationship with my dogs, I am calmer, the dogs are happier... the list goes on and on. Carol is incredibly patient with both me and the dogs (let's be honest, I'm really the one being trained ;)), explains things thoughtfully, encourages me when I get frustrated, and checks up on me in between trainings to answer any questions or concerns. She also helped me break down what I do regularly to figure out how I can easily/naturally incorporate training and make my routines more successful. I truly cannot say enough nice things. If you are considering any type of training, hands down, over and over again I would recommend Carol. I just signed up for another 4 weeks and cannot wait to see what we accomplish. Thank you Carol for everything you have done for me and my family - it is extraordinary. (I cannot end without giving a quickest shout out to her husband who has also been part of our training sessions and is also absolutely wonderful!!!!!).

Carol is giving us the tools we need to train our fearful puppy. She comes once a week to see what progress we have made or to guide me with training techniques. She is calm and gentle but also a strong handler and our puppy responds to her very well during training. One of my friends recommended Carol and I'm glad she did. I would recommend her to anyone that asks.Update: My dog has improved tremendously since our first training session. Carol has been instrumental in helping me learn to train my dog. She is just a phone call/ text away when I need her.

Choosing a dog trainer is a difficult decision, not only does it require a significant investment of time and money, but also trusting someone with the most important thing in your life. I spent weeks looking at all the options in my area, and am very happy that I chose Carol and can highly recommend her services.I spent weeks looking at different options, but after talking to Carol I made my decision. My dog has hip dysplasia and Carol displayed a genuine care and understanding of my dog's needs, and how to work with him without making him uncomfortable. She was also very flexible in scheduling which is important since I travel for work.On top of it all, I feel the love and passion that Carol has for working with animals. When I contacted some of the other businesses, I felt like I was being treated as an actual person and not just a dollar sign. One of the trainers I was talking to actually recommended Carol, so I know she has the respect of her peers. Lastly, I appreciate the check-ins during the week just to see how we are doing and if there is anything she can help with.These are the reasons I chose DePaul k9 Academy, and after 1 month of training, I know that I made the right decision. I am excited to continue working with her, and so is my fur-baby.

Through working with Carol DePaul I have seen a major improvement in walking with my 9 month old golden doodle, Charlie. Prior to training I was being dragged down the sidewalk by Charlie and constantly pulling things out of her mouth, but after working with Carol Charlie now heels right next to me and I really look forward to talking her on long walks. During our training sessions I can see Charlie learning and growing in confidence, while also having fun! Carol has gone above and beyond working with Charlie and you can clearly see the love that she has for these dogs and the respect that dogs have for her. Not only has Charlie gone though basic obedience training, Carol is now working on helping Charlie to become a therapy dog. I could not have asked for a better experience with DePaul K9 Academy.

Carol is by far the best dog trainer in Brevard County. I am so sorry I didn’t know about DePaul k9 Academy sooner. My dog has had 7 trainers before Carol. He is a 98 1lb highly driven Lab. Ely seems well trained when not distracted by squirrels and cats. I asked several trainers to please help me because I became so frightened to walk him. Other trainers were not willing to take on the challenge of training with distractions. In the first training session with Carol she had my boy around squirrels and other dogs while off leash. I’m so amazed. She is teaching me how to keep him focused on me.Update from 2 years agoDePaul k9 Academy is top notch at teaching humans to handle their dog. As my dog Ely got older his behavior changed towards other dogs. He is 100 lbs and I don’t weigh much more then that. I stopped walking him for fear he would pull me down. He became frustrated and overwhelmingly rowdy in the house. I Called Carol again. This is my second review. Carol is the 8th dog trainer I have used. The other trainers were also private and highly recommended to me. Two of them I stopped immediately because of harsh treatment to my dog. Carol taught me to be in control with patience, kindness and repetition. I now walk my dog everyday. He is so calm and well behaved in the house. He also has dog friends that come in his back yard to play. The garbage man asked me if I was a dog trainer because Ely is so attentive to me. THANK YOU CAROL. ELY AND I LOVE YOU. DEPAUL K9 ACADEMY IS SUPERIOR DOG TRAINING.

I was moving to Florida and found Carol and Depaul K9 Academy on google. I contacted her and within hours she got back to me. She is the most upstanding, professional , caring person I have come to know. Her compassion and caring nature with dogs and people shows through her work. I worked with Carol for a little over 5 months, it changed my whole outlook on dogs and myself. Building not only my dogs confidence but my own. She is a one of a kind women and puts everything she has into her clients and her dogs. I have never met a better trainer and human being in my life and I will forever continue to works with her and learn from her. Her dogs and clients are her purpose and it shows tremendously. She not only trains the dog, but teaches the human. Educating them on the reasons why and how dogs view everyday objects and situations. I can’t say enough good things about her. 11 out of 5 would recommend her and her services

Carol is the most professional trainers ever. She has taken our mischievous puppy and everything that goes with a puppy not going in the crate not really wanting to potty train not listening loving to chew anything and everything and Carol put an end to it. Not the wrong way but the most positive reinforcement the most positive training we now have a dog that we love and enjoy so much due to Carol. Our diesel is crate trained his behavior is wonderful he will sit he will stay, place and more. He even goes swimming after a hard day of playing all due to the wonderful education Carol gave us as well as Diesel. Carol DePaul @ K9 Academy is the best! Five ⭐️ for sure

Carol was fantastic evaluating our Australian Cattle dog. She was able to get right to work with him and handled him like it was nothing! She was very helpful. Informative and understood what he needed and how to help us right away. She worked with our 9 and 7 yr old as well and was just the nicest and professional. Highly recommend.

We just finished Carol’s 4 week training for our 15 month old lab, and the results are amazing!!!Molly was and is going through the “teenage” years and pretty much making her own rules ....until we realized we could not keep letting her run the house. HAha. Carol DePaul was highly recommended to us as an awesome trainer who comes to your house and trains the dog (AND humans) in our own environment! She has been a Godsend - it was so exciting to see our dig’s potential (that we knew she had), appear just in the first few minutes of Carol’s consultation! My husband and I looked at each other and asked “is this OUR dog??? “ Ha.From the moment Carol walked in the door, she had gentle control of Molly’s behavior just with her presence.One of our first concerns we wanted addressed was getting Molly’s excitement in check when people entered our house. No jumping up was a biggie. Once we learned the technique and commands for her, it all seemed so easy (we now understand the “train the human” part of Carol’s teachings!Molly also has learned the leave it command, place, come (still working a bit on her selective hearing for that, but it’s progressing), sit/stay, come when called with dog whistle, heel etc!We have learned the proper use of the prong collar as she was such a puller! Now you don’t see me flying down the street walking her as she has learned how to walk near me, and also get the “break” command for sniffy walks in the trails.Carol is professional, yet personable, on time, goes over techniques so well, never looks at her watch, follows up with texts and calls to see how training is going in between classes, but most importantly, our dog adores her. Carol has such gentle and loving control of her fur clients and it shows the minute she walks in.We will continue to train with what we have learned, but intend to have Carol return for “tutoring” both Molly and us now then!I could go on and on telling you about how great her training is! I know you will be satisfied as much as we are!

Carol is working with my 3-year-old male Picardy Shepard. He is a rehome and came to me with very low confidence and very under socialized. In a short period of time I’ve seen excellent progress in my boy. She has so much positive energy and my Cobie loves her working him. Of course, she’s training me as well. I’ve learned a lot from Carol. She has all the patience in the world. I now feel confident working all of my dogs. Confident that I’m doing the right things so that they all learn with consistent training techniques. Both Cobie and I are doing great! Everyday I see him becoming more and more confident and, in turn, so much happier. I now very much enjoy walking all three of my dogs at one time. Carol is very professional and knowledgeable in her field. I highly recommend DePaul K9 Academy.
