Thrilled there was a bookstore near our hotel. Visited and was about to purchase two books after admiring the lovely bookstore, when a surly lady approached my husband and informed him he needed a lid on his small bottle of water. He showed her and said that he did have a lid on it. She informed him that it wasn’t even allowed and again he said he was sorry and he had a lid on it. She smirked and yet again told him he needed a lid. Rude. Rude. We politely laid the books down and exited. I searched and searched the entrance door for a sign indicating no bottles/drinks. There was none. There are ways of talking to customers and this lady obviously needs a lesson, or put out of the public dealings. Your bookstore is very nice but the book master is NOT!!!

All-around good experiences at both stores (North AND South Collier). Excellent inventory, knowledgeable managers. One of many reasons we look forward to returning to Marco Island. P.S. Energetic soft-haired Wheaton terrier was a big part of my shopping at the S. Collier store.

My husband and I enjoyed our trip to this lovely little book store. The employee we spoke with seemed well-read and educated. A pleasant experience. Will be returning on our next trip to Marco Island.

Great local bookstore. Friendly staff. We visited Sunshine Booksellers to purchase some books on local wildlife and history. Not only does Sunshine have a great selection on both topics but it also has a nice selection of children's and adult's books. The staff (and their dogs) were a true delight on this visit. They were friendly and made us feel welcome - which is not always a given in tourist-heavy areas. Support your local bookseller and pick up some books on Marco Island and Florida on your next visit. You might even get to pet a fuzzy friend while you're there.

Buyer beware, this business and the people that operate this place I've found to be rude and hostile. They are incredibly unpleasant, just about everyone that works there. I encountered this while in the store trying to ship an item and actually several times prior while utilizing the shipping services. Based on the other reviews I've read here this isn't an isolated event.
