About Monroe County Public Library, Marathon Branch
The first public library in the Florida Keys opened in Key West in 1853. Today, Monroe County Public Library serves more than 350,000 adults and youth, via five locations, from Key Largo to Key West. We strive to meet the changing access and literacy needs of residents and visitors alike, without discrimination of any kind. Our policies are informed by the Monroe County Library Advisory Board, the American Library Association’s Code of Ethics/Library Bill of Rights, and feedback from our patrons. We hope you’ll feel free to contact us. We are grateful for the support of our friends groups throughout the Florida Keys. The Marathon Branch officially opened in the 1960's and we will be moving to our new and third location in June, 2021
Beautiful Library and the staff was great. I could honestly stay in there for hours.

A wonderful public library! What a community gem. Just visiting for the week with two little kids and this was a great find to keep them busy for a while. Great books, lots of activities they can do.

I love the employees of this branch for their willingness to assist me when my car broke down in their parking lot (even though and especially since it's definitely not part of their job descriptions). I greatly appreciate their helpfulness and resourcefulness to help me out
