Perfect spot, close to restaurants & pier. Kids loved going to the arcade each night while my spouse and I enjoyed watching the sunset with a glass of wine from our private deck.

My family and I stayed at Sandy Shores for 2 weeks and we really loved our stay. The property manager onsite Greg is super friendly and helped us any time we asked him. He even came once at 10 pm when we complained that someone was washing clothes and it was noisy. The location is perfect. It’s my new vacation go to for sure.

Magnificent place on the beach. View from unit on 4th floor direct gulf front was incredible. I saw dolphins right from my balcony. Madeira beach sunsets are unbeatable! Beach is white sand without seaweed, water is calm. The building is in the sand and from the pool you can step out onto the beach. The property is very clean, a maintenance guy cleans the sand each morning, maintains the pool even cleans the elevator.Things to do: right next door at John’s pass we took a sunset tiki hut cruise, seriously recommend! We also went to a gator exploration center 1.3 miles away which was really fun for the kids, they got to hold an albinos alligator and there were turtles roaming around freely.Nearby activities: Alligator discovery center. Kayak with manatees. Dolphin seeing. Pirate ship.Rent jet skis. Deep sea fishing or fishing right from the beach.Walkability: John’s pass and shop right across the street. 1 minute walk.

Good waterfront spot. If you are able to book the waterfront side, then you’ll be treated w incredible sunset views.

I read a bad review and was afraid to come here. But what I learned is that each condo in this building is privately owned, it’s not a hotel. So like any other place, you have to pick the right condo. We rented condo 404 and it was perfect. New floors, fresh paint, very clean. The pool area was very clean too.The condo is close to everything. Your feet are right in the sand as soon as you get out of the building. Would definitely rent againsNearby activities: Johns pass restaurants and shopping less than 1 minute walk.

HELL NO- We won’t go! (Back) like, ever!!!I think the title summarizes wonderfully what my review is about to go into details with. I think it’s important to get the details on this one….Pros: 1. balcony view (pay extra money for it somewhere else!!)Cons: hang tight…too many to mention. I’m sure I’ll forget something…1. One of the dirtiest places I’ve stayed in my life!a. Upon arrival walking into the refreshing smell of cigarettes, stale, musty and very unclean odors.b. Couches so dingy, unclean it was not a comfortable place to come back to and relax after a long day of beaching.c. BEDS. Awful!! uncomfortable gross looking and smelling “comforter”. We read reviews that stated cleaning staff has changed and beds updated. That’s a LIE. I’m sure their pants are on fire wherever they are.d. Bathroom is disgusting- old and outdated. Water pressure is one straight line from the seriously rusted shower head.e. Dead roach found under the bed the last day (thank god) not just any ole regular one either- the biggest one I’ve ever seen.2. asked for late check out- never heard back and had to figure it out the day of departure. We did actually get to stay later which is technically a pro,but also not really.3. Late check out but changed code to get into our room.4. Have to remember all kinds of codes to get into pool area. Nobody wants to break into this place- believe me! Such an inconvenience!

The only pro is the view and vicinity to John’s Pass and beach. Condo 504 was gross. I would never recommend to stay there. Other owners in the building would be ashamed at how awful 504 is. Giant roaches, mold just about everywhere, we refused to sit on the living room furniture because it was gross. Bathtub was old, stained and rusted. Other than the beach, not a very relaxing trip.

Condo # 110. Place was filthy, it smelled, had knats. Bedskirt with large brown stains. No doors on bathroom cabinets in either bathroom. Fans with nasty stuff 1/4 inch thick hanging on it. Furnace filter had not been changed in forever (completely covered with dirt/dust/lint). Property managers not responsive. We stayed on a weekend & secretary told not available till Monday. Really? Your property managers, it's your job!. Our group has contacted the local media & BBB. I've never had a worse experience. No photos of this condo when we rented, met a group of friends & had 3 other places in same complex. Will never make that mistake again.

Sandy Shores was a great, no frills, location for a girls' weekend away. We loved having the beach, pool, restaurants, music, and shopping all within walking distance of our stay. Our only wish was that there were more places for food or drink right on Madiera beach, like at St. Pete's. We only saw one, Crabby's on the beach. We also didn't feel as safe walking around this area at night. It is not a bad drive to other places we were heading like Riverview (1.6 hrs), Ybor City (1 hr), St. Pete Beach (14 mins), Indian Rocks Beach (10 mins) and TPA (about 45 mins). We enjoyed prime sunset views and star gazing every night.Regarding our specific condo, the kitchen is stocked well, and the refrigerator is huge. We appreciated the beach towels and starter items. It was pretty quiet being an April week after Spring Breaks. A few minor suggestions for improvements are hooks on the bathroom doors or more places to hang clothing while in the bathrooms. Also, the twin and double beds are a little squeaky and not the most comfortable. That bedroom with the two beds needs a working lamp with the light switch so you can see where you are going walking into the room. The hallway light helps somewhat. The phone service in the unit was spotty but worked well from the balcony or master bedroom. You have to watch food you leave on the kitchen counter and balcony, if unattended. We found little bugs in some of our dry food and birds land regularly outside looking for food. The condo building itself is dated but had all we needed. We felt safe knowing there were codes to access the pool, elevators, stairs, and our condo. The code on the gate leading to the beach was broken, and we kept seeing people pull the handle off accidentally.Overall, it is a truly nice place to take long walks on the beach and relax by the pool. However, I do prefer all that St. Pete Beach has to offer instead.

Two friends of mine rented a condo here at Sandy Shores Condominiums and I visited during their stay. The view was awesome and the location was perfect. Right next to John's Pass. My visit was very comfortable and they were both happy with their rental!

Our first visit in June was great! Beautiful unit! So we booked here again for the seafood festival. We are in unit 105 and VERY disappointed. It's clean but that's about it Where is the recliner in the picture? The old, hard wicker furniture is worn to the core and SO uncomfortable! I have a spinal disability so I'm hurting on this furniture. The old hard brown carpet must be original to the unit . The dining table is caving in. One leg barely holding up the table. And two of the chairs are iffy to sit on. We didn't bring tools! I called management. Very polite. Sending someone right away. No one came. The beds? Forger it. The worst we've ever had. The door latch is nearly impossible to work. The ironing board? Just a metal frame. No cover. Using a towel for it. It just seems like being a corner unit is what draws renters. No money has gone into making it comfortable. We will be back to Sandy Shores, but NEVER back to this unit. We have almost another week here to be miserable. I would NOT recommend this unit.I am not a complainer. But I need to let future renters know it's not comfortable.Vicky A.

Sandy Shores 401My Fiancé and I stayed here for a short while as we were making a small vacation out of a wedding visit. We were a bit disappointed by how late the check-in time is, but I guess through the years they have gotten later at most places. We were able to get in an hour early, and when we needed a few extra minutes at checkout the office allowed us the time we needed which was very kind! The shower was bit slow to drain, but the condo appeared to be very clean and kept upon our arrival. There is no dish rack for handwashing dishes, so plan for time to empty the dishwasher before leaving. Most places I've stayed at ask that you run the dishwasher before leaving and they will empty it. Not this one, so just plan for this. The location is incredible, as it is directly across the street from John's Pass, full of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. It is a bit far from a Liquor Store or a Grocery if you are not renting a car, however the local trolley system is very nice! We utilized it to ride up to Clearwater and back a couple of times to shop and eat. It's much cheaper than a rideshare, and they run every 30 minutes from Clearwater to St. Pete Beach.Based on our experience, we would happily return!

Yeah this place is absolutely garbage. The rooms have you walking into the 1970’s. Toilets hardly work, ridiculously outdated, elevators are hardly working, on the plus side the AC works

DONT DO IT!!!! Sandy Shores #305We stayed in this condo the week of Thanksgiving 2021 I was appalled!!!! There was a dead bug in the kitchen drawer, kitchen sink would not drain and smelled. aluminum foil wrapping the burners on the stove, outlet in the bathroom was falling out of the wall the bathroom exhaust fan did not work. The worst was the carpet. My daughter ended up having an allergy attack, throat tightening, sneezing, allergy induced eczema. I spent the week coughing. We believe that there is something we were allergic to in that condo. We are not able to afford the luxury of vacationing all the time, I saved for this trip for al long time and it makes me sick that our vacation was ruined because of a dirty condo. If I could go back, I would have left immediately. I reached out to Sunhost Resorts and they reached out to the owner of the condo, who I have reached out to the Better Business Bureau and the Pinellas County Board of Health. I am writing this in hopes that no one else experiences what we experienced. To Sunhost resorts: it looks like you have “cleaned up” the reviews for this condo, that is very interesting, as I was told there were no complaints about this condo. There were many more reviews that were on the website (that I have screen shots of) that are now gone. To the owner of the condo: Shame on you!
