We love this karate studio. The owners Jimmy and Sabrina are some of the nicest people. From day 1 sensei Jimmy learned my kid's names and went out of his way to make them feel comfortable. He really cares about knowing each child personally and developing a relationship with them. He has a good balance of making sure the kids have fun and enjoy themselves but also instilling discipline. He is the teacher for every class. It is nice to know that when you walk in every day your kids will have the same teacher who knows their skill level. I have put them in other activities where you get a different teacher each time and that makes it hard for kids to grow. His wife, Sabrina, runs the business and is very easy to work with. She makes is easy for a busy family to attend classes as they don't impose lots of rules and restrictions on the scheduling and attendance of classes. I have put my kids in some other activities where you can tell they only care about making money and it ruins the experience, but that is not West Coast Karate. Giving an experience where the family is happy is their priority and making money comes second to that. The viewing area for parents is comfortable and spacious enough to bring your other children. This is truly a family owned and operated business and you can feel it. I can not say enough good things!

We signed up my son because he wanted to be a “ninja”. We had no previous background in martial arts, but lots of experiences in kids’ sports, all the way up through competitive sports. Sabrina and Jimmy (the owners) are so supportive and it shows. From the first day, we felt welcomed and at home by all of the Senseis, parents and students. The other kids stopped to show my son how to do the moves, and gave him hi-fives. I have never seen so much positivity in a children’s sport, full stop. After 2 years, my wiggly, energetic son and learned focus and determination, and is now thriving on the tournament team! He jumps at any chance he can get to be at the dojo and would spend more time in the dojo than at home if he could!

After shopping around for a dojo, we found the “unicorn” w West Coast Karate. They have a great blend of traditional karate, discipline aspects, respect, and fitness , yet provide it all in a way that is fun and engaging for my 5 year old. He loves it so much that he joined the tournament team as well.

When we moved to Tampa, my son was so shy and lonely. He didn’t know anyone and he was in a virtual school, thanks to covid era. Me and my husband are martial artists and we know how much it can do to a person’s mental/ body development. We did our research at the dojos in our area and we are so glad we found this family oriented dojo. Sensei Jimmy immediately took my son out of his shell making the class fun to be. Slowly we were all falling in love for this whole family running this business together. Today, my kid is almost a black belt with tons of confidence and yet humble. He is responsible, respectful, funny, smart and he wants to participate in all the activities and be involved with his friends. I’m not saying he didn’t have those qualities before, but he is showing all that now with confidence. And I know big part of it came from this practice. We are very grateful for the dedication was put into our son. It changed his life and gave us a huge relief.

We love West Coast Karate! After my daughters karate school closed with barely anytime to research other schools, friends recommended them and are we so glad to have found them. Patience is key with the kids and adults. They make everything exciting and fun. Highly recommend this school!

We are so happy to find West Coast Karate. They have helped both my boys come out of their shells and build their confidence. I HIGHLY recommend them! We are also big fans of the parties and specials they offer. It’s a great deal!

My kids have been students at West Coast Karate for almost two years now and take their program for homeschoolers. They love and respect Sensei Jimmy while also enjoying his humor and kindness. The dojo is their favorite place to be. We highly recommend West Coast Karate!

West Coast Karate is everything I wanted for my daughter.They offer plenty of events, services and a strong community.They are very organized, friendly and well structured.We tried other dojos before and this is the one that has the best balance between fun and discipline.

My son takes homeschool classes here twice a week and has for over a year. Sensei Jimmy is so great with these kids, he can firm and playful. The kids love him. We recommend them to everyone:)

My 8 year old loves the camps and holoday parties they have here! My 4 year old and 15 year old both take classes. They both really enjoy it and when you are at the dojo, you feel like you are with family. Highly recommend west coast karate for anyone looking for a dojo for themselves or a friend.

West Coast Karate is amazing. My 3 boys love every second. Sensei Jimmy is kind, caring, compassionate and dedicated to teaching students at their level. The monthly events keeps the students engaged and eager to learn more.
