we had to move to lutz area right before the start of school year and unfortunately this move have had left my little one behind, who was suppose to start VPK..Two of the assigned elementary schools were full and almost all nearby daycare's wasn't willing to enroll just for state funded program but for full day program and demanded to pay $900 - $1000 due to limited seats, except for Discovery point at Lutz Lake Fern road.Firstly We were greeted by Rachel Lewis (genuine smile- hard to find these days) and right at that moment we had to witness her help out a sick kid who literally threw up very close to her, with no hesitation but utmost kindness and care. No second thoughts, we immediately realized it was the place for us as it explained the atmosphere very well. When I had to explain that I am waiting on confirmation back from my employer about the relocation and remote job, she made arrangements to hold the free spot for us and bank check (in lieu of non refundable enrollment fees) not to be enchased and apparently she confirmed our seat the same day.Secondly, when my kid was suppose to start the following Monday, she unfortunately developed some skin infection and therefore we had to hold her back for more than couple weeks. and then when she almost recovered, my worst fear had come true and my employer revoked the privilege of working remotely and they demanded me to be onsite. Therefore finally we had to make a conscious decision to withdraw her enrollment..while I was very embarrassed initially to have this conveyed despite all that they did to us, Rachel still treated me with same respect and had the owner write a check for $150, (non refundable fee ) and immediately withdrew her from ELC portal without redeeming the state voucher even for the days she was supposed to be attending. Once again they proved they weren'tjust running a business but a genuine day care filled with empathy, true compassion, love, and most importantly commitment to value families and their circumstances.we would definitely miss them for sure and highly recommend this place with more than a 5 star rating...Our Sincere thanks and appreciation to miss Rachel Lewis..

I have two children here. I am extremely happy with the level of care they both receive. My children love it! A lot of positive reinforcements, learning activities , and fun field trips. The food they serve is great for my children and I as a parent. It’s always nice to see hot food being served and veggies. The staff is down to earth and a modern fit for the times. They interact with my children playing games and keeping a close eye on them. They are sad when I have to pick them up and leave. They are happy and safe. Thank you for the well rounded care for my children.

We have had an amazing experience here for the past 4 years! The teachers and staff are absolutely fantastic. Both my kids have food allergies and the staff/teachers have always been very accommodating, considerate, and extremely supportive. They never hesitate to go the extra mile to keep you informed. This place is wonderful!

Such a great staff and center. I come here every Monday to teach an enrichment class and the staff is always very welcoming, they help me with all my needs and never fuss about anything. The children in the center always seem so happy to be around the staff and other kids. I truly enjoy coming here because they make my job 100% easier and make me feel like I am a team member.

My daughter has been at Discovery Point for almost a year and we could not be happier. We started when she was around 6 months old and were super anxious at the beginning. They quickly calmed our nerves with how great they were. All of the teachers have been so kind and have shown our daughter so much attention and love throughout our year here. They also have taught her so much! She comes home with new skills all the time. Also it seems like the front office staff knows every single child by name from the start which shows how much attention they give to each child. Again I can’t say enough great things!

I started bringing my son to Discovery Point when he was two years old. Due to Covid, it was his first ever daycare experience. The first six months were difficult. He struggled with drop off, often trying to chase me out the door. Everyone was super patient with him and his teacher at the time was a miracle worker. She LOVES him and he loves her. He is thriving and we couldn’t be happier. He loves his new teacher and classroom and it shows.

When we enrolled my son, we were further from work and home than we really wanted to be but we weren’t able to find anywhere with spots for his age at the time. We toured the facility and were happy to place him here but planned to move him if we got a spot closer to work/home. However, our son (who hadn’t been in a daycare setting previously) quickly felt comfortable and happy at DP 34. He knows all the teachers and they all know his name too. He loves coming to school each day. His teachers care and love him like we’d want. As a teacher myself, when my 3 year old said “boat”…the “b” sound then “boat starts with b!” I not only realized he was happy but he was also learning WAY more than I ever realized!! We definitely will not be moving him until he is ready to start school and will continue driving out of our way each morning and afternoon until he graduates from VPK.

I recently took my daughter to DP, on what seemed like a typical morning for us. Shortly after, I received a message that my girl wasn't quite acting like herself, so dad went to pick her up. When he arrived, our girl was sitting with Ms. Brittany, up near the reception area. I cannot thank Ms. Brittany enough for sitting with her and keeping her calm and content until dad arrived.☺️ We ❤️ Ms. Brittany! Big shout out to Ms. Glo in the Beginner room, too. I heard Everly was quite clingy that morning.❤️

I hate to put a bad review for a small business. But our experience with Discovery Point Lutz was not good. We moved our son to another institution and we are happy we did. Our kid is happy now and is happy to go to everyday. At Discovery Point the class was overbooked in my opinion and kids were not getting a lot of attention. The personnel was not adequately formed if I compare it with my experience at several other places for my other kids. Also everyday they would call us to take back our kid early. We thought the reasons were lame. They just did not have enough patience to take care of kids. So I don't recommend this facility unless they change the way they manage. I suspect they are trying to maximize profit by using the cheapest labor while filling the classes the max. I hope other parents have better experience but ours was not good.Update: After reading the owner answer I am adding this:As you said, you are not for everyone. I see an education institution that rejects the blame on a child, instead of trying to improve themselves and acknowledge the issues. Your answer is geared toward making it look like the kid has a problem or has special needs when this is not the case. How come another school is handling him well and he is happy with them? Same kid 1 month apart is sleeping well and feeding well and is a happy and learning kid? When you sent me emails after my review it looked like you are worried more about your google likeability than finding how you failed educating one more kid. Instead of fighting me, ask how we could improve and look at a negative review as a way to improve yourself not as way to get even with whoever did not like your services. So yes like another negative review said, I am now convinced that you treat kids as a number and I suppose you are in it for the money only, while for parents this is the most precious thing in life we entrust you with. As you said you're not for everyone. Good luck to you but I won't recommend your school to any parent who cares, as "you are not for everyone".

My children have been at DP Lutz since 2019. The staff and teachers there have become our second family. After my daughter went through Ms Kris, Ms Stephanie and then Ms Magy’s classes from age 2-5 she left for kindergarten reading at a first grade level. The teachers truly care and take the time to learn each student’s personality traits and what encourages them. My daughter needed verbal affirmation and I have watched her confidence in her abilities grow because she felt loved and cared for. My son is currently in VPK and has a completely different learning style and temperament. He struggled under the tutelage of a teacher that is no longer there but then got to Mrs Stephanie and flourished. Mrs Stephanie listened to my concerns about him and assured me he was doing just fine. Her love for each of her children is evident in the way she speaks to them, listens to them and creates various ways to appeal to all learning styles. My child would come home calling me Mrs Stephanie because he is comfortable with her and feels loved. Mrs Stephanie fully prepared him for VPK and I can’t say enough good about her as a teacher and person. There is also Mrs Magy who is as phenomenal of a teacher as you can find. She has a gentle nature that kids adore and will effectively discipline if they step out of line (which mine does a lot). She loves the kids well and stimulates their love of reading with story time. I know that if there is ever a problem I will be contacted immediately and the teachers and staff are so easy to work with and want to help and support parents. Teaching littles is not a job for the faint of heart and the teachers there do a fabulous job of balancing educating with fun and making each child feel seen and heard. I am so glad we found Discovery Point and am incredibly grateful for how my kids have grown in their time there. I would highly recommend this school to anyone!

I consider it a tremendous blessing to have found Discovery Point #34 for my little girl. When I first enrolled my daughter, Jaysie, I was extremely nervous as a first-time mom and I would call every day. Most of the staff handled my hypersensitivity pretty well, but Brittany went above and beyond to reassure me and always promptly address all my inquiries. Her genuine attitude, honesty, and understanding as to my position really made me feel comfortable. Rachel is great at managing the staff and is truly devoted to providing a safe and fun environment for all the children.Jaysie is a little shy and timid, but her confidence has grown leaps and bounds since attending Discovery Point. Jaysie started in the Beginners class and has transitioned to Toddlers. When Jaysie moved to toddlers, everything really fell into place shortly thereafter. The education here is top notch. In toddlers, I started noticing Jaysie advancing, reaching her milestones, and learning something new everyday. Ms. Blanca and Lauren are simply amazing with the children. It is all about learning, building confidence, working together, and there is always a positive atmosphere.I couldn't ask for a better team to entrust with my daughter and I will continue to recommend them to other parents.
